TGDHW - Chapter 37

Callion.

It was his name. His name, which his lieutenant Cedric called dozens of times a day. His name was called not only by Cedric, but also by the knights of the Order, the people of the Grand Duke's castle, and the members of the council. So, there was no reason to feel anything special just because his name was called.

However, he felt as if the sound of thunder was ringing in his ears.

“What did you just say...”

“H-I said stop it. You bastard...”

It was not just a trembling voice. There was a sound of crying in Erna's voice. Callion slowly raised his head and looked at Erna.

Just when on earth had she been crying? Transparent droplets glistened on her long eyelashes, and her large, round eyes were wet with tears. What froze him as much as the sound of his name being called was the way Erna looked at him. A terror akin to seeing the most terrifying thing in the world.

She was afraid of him right now.

"Why..."

Callion released his grip on her waist, stood up, and moved close to Erna's face. As a result, what had been lodged beneath her also moved upward. Thump. With a heavy sound, the dark red penis was placed on Erna's white belly. At this, Erna spoke with difficulty, her face looking even more as if she were about to faint.

“You, th-this, please...”

Callion sat up in surprise at the sight of her gasping for breath. It was now fully erect and pressed tightly against her stomach. Erna recalled the sensation of it trying to push its way into her from below just moments ago.

It was merely a touch at the tip, so there was no pain, but that alone was enough to tell. If the whole thing entered, she would not be safe. Only then did Erna realize what she had been trying to accept.

Honestly, she had underestimated it. Many women in the world get married, have relationships, and have children. So, she assumed she could certainly do it too. Now, Erna was painfully realizing just how arrogant her thinking had been.

When he pressed his against hers to enter, Erna had no choice but to put her pride aside for a moment and cling to him. She needed just a little, just a little more time to prepare herself.

However, judging by Callion's current appearance, it didn't seem like he would stop. He had promised to stop if it hurt or if he didn't want to, but it didn't seem like he would listen.

She had no experience, but she had heard many stories. And the stories about relationships between men and women that Erna had heard were not always pleasant. She was told that some acted violently during intercourse, pursuing only their own pleasure. Quite a lot of them, in fact. And she was told that in such cases, one would feel great pain.

She doesn't want to be in pain.

Few people would like pain. Yet, among them, Erna particularly hated her own physical pain. The pain caused by external impact reminded her of the days she lived with her head bowed in the Kingdom of Havand. The time when not only her older sister and brother, but even her younger sister, kicked her in secret.

Eventually, a tear fell from Erna's eye.

She absolutely hated the thought of showing her weakness in front of Callion. He was the person she least wanted to reveal her vulnerability to. Surely, seeing her like this, he would mock her, telling her to do better or asking if she could really do it like this. Even though she knew that, her tears wouldn't stop easily.

At that moment, his body, which had almost completely covered her, stepped back.

“...?”

Erna looked at him in surprise at his unexpected action. All he had to do was continue like this. Besides, it was clear that he had intended to do so. But he backed down?

Is it that bad?

After being pulled away, he muttered in a slightly hoarse voice.

"As I said before, I have no intention of forcing it."

At those words, Erna looked down at him. Though he spoke those words, what was on his lower body still exuded a menacing aura, as if saying, "I think differently." Therefore, Erna could not easily relax.

Callion sighed as he realized where her gaze was lingering, then stood up and straightened his clothes. His highly aroused member squirmed uncomfortably inside his lower garments. Nevertheless, he pushed it in without a word. Having struggled to put on his lower garments, Callion sat down beside Erna.

“What is scary?”

In the meantime, Erna, having composed herself a little, answered his question in the most nonchalant voice she could manage.

“It’s not that I’m scared. It’s just that I’m not used to it yet... So, I need to be mentally prepared...”

“Yes. Let’s assume that is the case.”

He asked again with a serious face.

“How do you think you can get used to it?”

Chapter 7. Decoding

"Are you alright? You aren't feeling well, or anything is wrong, are you?"

Erna looked up at Vanessa's sudden question. Sitting next to her at the conference room table, she was looking at Erna with a worried expression.

"Nothing special. Why are you suddenly asking that?"

"It seems like you are a bit different today than usual."

At those words, Erna thought about what she had done today. She had woken up at lunchtime to listen to Orpheus's nagging, eaten, taught the wizards, and attended the council meeting late in the afternoon. Then, she had something to look into separately with Vanessa, so they were left alone like this. It was an ordinary day with nothing particularly problematic.

“What makes it different?”

“It’s the first time the two of you have finished a meeting without fighting, so...”

"Was that so?"

Erna tried to recall how the meeting had gone a moment ago. When she entered the conference room, Callion had already arrived. Sitting at the far right end of the table as always, he looked up briefly at the documents in front of him, glanced at Erna, and then focused back on the papers.

Erna also went to her seat without paying any more attention and looked at the documents that were prepared.

There was nothing particularly special about the meeting. Among the topics discussed was the appearance of monsters in the Haldis region, which the two had visited two weeks ago, so the situation at the time was explained further to the council members. Callion occasionally chimed in with a word or two, but there were no particular issues.

"Besides, you didn't say much when you came in, either."

“I see that every day... No. I guess I'm just still a bit tired. More importantly, about this part right here...”

Erna hurriedly changed the subject.

In the past, she would have frowned the moment she saw Callion. But recently, seeing him every night, Erna honestly didn't think much of it. It was a sight she had gotten used to, so she didn't even intend to say anything...

Fortunately, there were many matters to discuss, so Vanessa did not pry into her further, and an hour later, Erna was able to leave the council and head to the wizards' quarters. Turning her neck and shoulders this way and that, Erna let out a sigh-filled mutter.

It’s not a lie that I'm tired.

Because lately she hasn't been able to rest at night.

After muttering for quite a while, Erna resumed walking.

In the past, she would have stayed up until dawn to manage her magical power, but these days, as soon as she left the couple's bedroom and returned to her own room, Erna would collapse into sleep as if she had fainted. Since doing so did not make her wake up early, Orpheus arrived at the same time every day. Orpheus scolded Erna as she helped her up, as she could not properly open her eyes.

"What are you doing every night that you can't get up like this lately?"

"What are you doing?" Erna's face turned red as she recalled what had happened last night. Lately, she had been extremely tired every night.

"Ha."

Erna pressed her hand against her chest. She felt a faint pain along with a tingling sensation. Although she couldn't see it now, her chest beneath her clothes was quite a mess.

“You crazy bastard.”

Erna cursed freely at the person who wasn't there. What on earth was she doing every night because of that guy?

“What was I thinking, talking about familiarity and all that... I should have just done it back then...”

Erna continued walking, muttering words to herself that no one was listening to.

When Erna arrived at the wizards' quarters, she saw Alicia and Miel, who seemed to be returning from somewhere. She had been worried that they might have been very frightened during the last expedition, but fortunately, the two were fine.

The two wizards saw Erna and waved their hands happily.

“Grand Duke!”

"Are you both coming back from somewhere?"

As the two people who had run over grabbed Erna's arm and clung to her, she smiled and asked.

"I went to the Knights!"

“To the Knights?”

“Yes, after returning to the Grand Duke’s Castle, I went to Haldis to thank them for their help, and somehow we ended up becoming close. So lately, I’ve been hanging out there quite often. Of course, I show them some magic and even use training attack spells during the knights’ sparring...”

As young Miel excitedly spoke, Alicia also spoke from the side.

“The knights were amazing. I knew that physical force could be used to nullify magic, but I saw that simple spells consisting of just one or two characters could be extinguished just by punching or kicking them.”

“That’s right! They say that Grand Duke Callion is capable of obliterating even greater magic.”

The two became even more excited and shared stories they had seen and heard in the Knights. Just as Erna was starting to get a headache from the frantic stream of stories pouring out from both sides, Orpheus appeared. Orpheus raised her voice as she looked at the two.

“Both of you! I didn't see you at morning practice—where did you go?! You didn't go to the Knights' Order to hang out again, did you?”

At Orpheus's command, the two swiftly hid behind Erna. However, Erna was not a reliable shield for them.

“You skipped practice? And again? Isn't this the first time?”

“No, we just...”

“Lady Erna! Please teach them a lesson! They're acting like this for a whole week already!”

“What? A week?”

As Erna glared at them, Alicia and Miel realized it was too late to beg and quickly ran away.

"Neither of you can stand there!"

Orpheus screamed, but the two were not the type to stop just because of that. Erna clicked her tongue and shook her head, then drew a magic spell in the air. Soon, a circular ring of light appeared above Erna's head and flew rapidly over the fleeing two. The ring of light, tightly wrapped around their waists, immediately lifted them into the air.

"I can break this!"

Miel, lifted into the air, struggled and drew a magic formula, too.

“Alicia!”

"Leave it to me!"

Erna could tell what the two were doing. Miel, who was skilled at drawing delicate magic formulas, was in charge of the formulas, while Alicia was responsible for infusing them with magical power. As the magic they combined clashed with Erna's magic, both spells vanished immediately.

“Oh my, did you just extinguish my magic?”

Erna looked at the two of them as if finding it amusing.

"We can just do the training we were planning to do this afternoon right now."

To wizards, obliterating an opponent's magic was as easy as throwing a glove. As Erna laughed in a low voice, Alicia and Miel's faces turned pale.

We are dead.
