Queen of Villains - Chapter 144

<Episode 144: Side Story (8)>

“...I just woke up suddenly and felt dizzy.”

“Are you feeling dizzy? I’ll have you examined.”

Calmly ignoring Emily's words, Payne took out his examination tools.

If she just went on like this, saying it was okay, she didn't know what kind of treatment Killian would give her.

Payne, who was calmly examining Emily's body while sending waves with his fingertips, suddenly felt as if something was bothering him.

“...Why is that?”

Emily, who had assumed nothing would happen, asked with a worried look on her face as Payne became more and more serious.

"Madam."

After a while, a bright smile appeared on Payne's lips as he finished his examination.

“Congratulations!”

"Yes??"

“You are pregnant!”

Upon hearing the news of Emily's pregnancy, Killian canceled all his plans and returned straight to the mansion.

"Honey?"

Emily was lying quietly in the bedroom, just as Payne had said, prescribing absolute rest and relaxation.

She was startled for a moment by the sudden opening of the door and the sight of her husband striding in, but then Killian hugged Emily tightly.

“I love you, Emily.”

Although Killian only knew Emily, he was shy about expressing himself and was not the type to directly express his love.

Especially when there are people around him who are members of the organization or people he knows.

Emily's heart was also touched by the heavy and resonant confession of such a person without regard for the consequences.

“Did you hear the story?”

“Yes, I was contacted by Payne.”

“I don’t know yet whether it’s a boy or a girl.”

“It doesn’t matter.”

He was determined to do his best and raise this precious baby angel who had come to them to the best of his ability.

“Cezanne.”

Cezanne, still staring at Killian, whose eyes still looked red, frowned involuntarily. It was hard to get used to seeing that once cold-blooded man display such humane behavior.

'I guess I'll get used to it now.'

Cezanne answered, trying not to show her frown, while relaxing her brow muscles as much as possible.

“Yes, please speak.”

“I’ll give you an unlimited budget, so start decorating the mother’s room and the baby’s room.”

"We're not going to wipe out any organizations, so there's no need to sound so desperate." Cezanne nodded with a weary expression.

"All right."

It was obvious how much more trouble the boss would cause in the future.

So, Cezanne quietly answered without saying anything, closed the door to Emily's room, and came out, summoning all the family members working in the mansion.

“Why is Alvin crying?”

Chili answered Cezanne's question on his behalf.

“He said he was so touched that Madam was pregnant that he cried.”

“Stop dragging your feet.”

Ivan, who has been helping Alvin with his wrinkle care these days, said in a displeased tone.

“I worked hard to give you a facial massage, but if you cry like that, it will ruin the results of the treatment.”

“Sob, this is so touching. Don’t you guys have any feelings?”

"Have you forgotten that you were trained to suppress your emotions before joining the family? Why are you doing this alone?"

Roxy said with a blank expression.

“Hey! When on earth did that happen to the enemy!”

But Cezanne had no intention of waiting for Alvin to regain his composure. The task at hand was more pressing and important.

She handed Alvin a roughly clean handkerchief (her own was precious) and explained the purpose of their meeting.

“His Excellency has asked us to decorate the maternity room and the baby’s room, but the budget is unlimited.”

"Ah..."

"Unlimited?"

“Chili, Roxy, and I have great chemistry and would love to work together, but leaving the nursery to Ivan and Alvin alone would be too risky.”

Chili and Roxy nodded, seeming to strongly agree with that statement.

“So either Chili or Roxy has to decorate the baby’s room with the two of them.”

Chili and Roxy immediately shook their heads in disagreement with that statement.

“I have gastritis symptoms these days, so I shouldn’t be stressed.”

Quickly, as soon as Roxy hit the player, Chili didn't back down and immediately opened his mouth.

"These days, I'm so vulnerable to stress that I throw punches at the drop of a hat. I can't see bloodshed in the happy Velvet Mansion."

The two men who had been quietly listening to the conversation looked at the three of them with eyes filled with doubt.

“Why do you think it’s natural for the two of us to be stressed out when we work together?”

“The weather is so humid these days that the discomfort index is really high.”

“So what does a high discomfort index have to do with us?”

“Do you really want me to be brutally honest with you? Both of you?”

“...”

In response to the two men's response that they didn't know anything, Cezanne finally sighed deeply and said.

"Alvin is hypersensitive, prone to crying and tantrums. Ivan makes stupid comments that drive people crazy or accidentally break things."

The two men simply opened their mouths to refute her, but remained silent. Because everything she said was absolutely true.

“There’s Cezanne.”

Finally, Chili opened his mouth in despair.

"I'll just do it myself. Just ask Mayo to help."

“Can you really do that?”

“Yeah, that makes me feel better, too.”

The two men, intimidated by the blunt reaction, looked blankly at the three people who were now talking, leaving them alone.

“So what can we do to help?”

“Just help us carry the things we bought.”

“Yeah, okay.”

***

As soon as Emily found out she was pregnant, morning sickness began in earnest.

“Do you hate this too?”

Killian fidgeted as he watched Emily not eat anything.

“I don’t think so.”

Emily pushed Killian's hand away and lay back down on the bed. Unable to bear it anymore, Killian looked at Payne with an angry expression.

“Didn’t you say that she eats new food well?”

“Oh, no... Usually, mothers eat well...”

“Don’t say anything to Dr. Payne for no reason.”

When Payne was speechless and unable to speak properly, Emily covered him and said.

“I just don’t feel like eating right now.”

“But didn’t you throw up everything you ate for lunch?”

He really wanted to get pregnant for her if he could, at least for the morning sickness.

Seeing how worried Killian was, Emily mustered up the courage to say what food she wanted to eat.

“Actually, I want to eat Toto’s carrot cake...”

Emily, who couldn't even eat properly, spoke for the first time about what she wanted to eat. Killian breathed a sigh of relief.

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

"Toto is on his honeymoon with Sally right now. How can I interfere with them..."

Toto and Sally had been married for a long time, but because they were so busy with their cake business, they couldn't go on a honeymoon right away.

Fortunately, they had found someone to take charge of the factory, so they were able to go on their honeymoon to the Robert Empire with peace of mind.

“If it’s Toto’s carrot cake, wouldn’t it be easy to find in the capital?”

Payne, who was listening to the story, tilted his head and said.

Although the cake was so popular that it sold out quickly, there were already carrot cakes available at the club owned by Killian, so there were many ways to get it.

“If that were the cake, why didn’t you tell me before?”

Emily said in a slightly nervous tone.

“It’s not just a factory-made cake, it’s a carrot cake that Toto made himself.”

“Handmade?”

“I want to eat it right after he makes it.”

“Oh, I see.”

Payne immediately snapped at Emily's words.

The gentle lady, who had never been angry, became increasingly irritable and nervous after becoming pregnant.

Killian, who was already at a loss when Emily spoke, was almost in a panic when she appeared like this.

If that issue wasn't resolved immediately, there would be chaos.

“I will catch Toto right now.”

“Take it slow...”

“Yes, please wait a moment.”

Payne felt fear as he watched Killian prepare with a fierce look in his eyes, saying he would catch him right away.

It was as if he were trying to catch and punish him even more severely than someone who had committed a great crime against the organization and fled.

‘I think I said no at first...’

Payne quietly closed the door and left, listening to the unfamiliar couple's bloody conversation.
