Queen of Villains - Chapter 137

<Episode 137: Side Story (1)>

In fact, she had already decided this a long time ago, but now that all her worries were gone, Emily made a new plan.

That's right, having a baby with Killian!

“Isn’t looking at the sky like picking stars?”

But Killian wasn't going any further than kissing Emily. And that was frustrating her!

“Why don’t you ask me to sleep with you?”

At Emily's questioning and serious words, Cezanne paused, then pretended not to notice and went back to cleaning the vase.

“What do you think, Cezanne?”

“Oh, you weren’t talking to yourself?”

"Yes."

Cezanne put down the vase with a look of disappointment on her face. She had no interest or curiosity in knowing anything about her boss's marital life, or rather, his sex life.

“...I’m not an expert in that area.”

“Have Cezanne and Mr. Donahue not made much progress yet?”

Emily tilted her head and asked.

“We’re adults, so we’ll figure it out naturally...”

At those words, Cezanne, who had been unconsciously thinking about sleeping with Pete, quickly shook her head as if it was absolutely impossible.

“I’m sorry. I don’t think I can help you.”

She was really bad at this kind of relationship counseling, and she wanted to keep the beautiful memories they had together as just their story.

No matter how much she tried, she didn't want to share such things with her boss or anyone she served.

Emily rested her chin on both hands and pondered.

"So, who should I consult? Roxy? Chili?"

“Those two people, too... wouldn’t Messina know better?”

“Messina? Oh no!”

Emily seemed to think for a moment, then her face turned bright red.

“Her explanation was truly... beyond what I could handle.”

Messina often offered to help with couples counseling and provided education that was rated 29+, which is way beyond the 19+ standard.

Besides, when she brought out a fake toy right in front of Emily and showed her how to do it, she really wanted to just close her eyes and faint.

But even then, she made a joke that was hard to laugh at, saying, "What would have happened if I had shown you how to do it with Zed?" (It was literally a joke that was hard to laugh at).

“Or what about Miss Marlene?”

“Marlene?”

"Ha! You still haven't done it? What's wrong with you that you're so lacking in this area that you bother people?"

The image of Marlene, laughing at her with such a pretentious expression and giving her advice, sent shivers down her spine.

“I’d rather be alone than ask her for advice.”

If Killian had heard it, he would have cried and said it was so cruel.

So there was no one left to recommend. So, Cezanne pretended not to know and went back to cleaning the vase.

Again, she didn't want to bother with the boss's sleeping situation.

“I should have answered right then...”

Emily naturally recalled the day she had shared a bed with Killian a few months earlier.

“I will not touch you until you are ready.”

No, I'm asking if you're a former knight. Why are you suddenly displaying chivalry? If you're from the mafia, shouldn't you be strong and decisive?

And how could someone like Boss be so obsessed with manners and etiquette? Even if he were of noble birth, no, even if he were now a proper nobleman.

That day, Emily couldn't bring herself to say, "Yes? I'm ready now," so she just covered herself with the blanket and lay down.

The problem is, even after that, Killian never asked Emily about it. Not even once. Not once!!

“Ugh, I’m suddenly feeling annoyed.”

Emily slumped over the tea table, looking very stressed.

“It’s funny that I suddenly go to my husband and tell him I’m ready.”

“Madam, I’ll tell you again...”

“Yes, yes. I won’t tell Cezanne anymore.”

Emily's worries deepened.

***

Knox and Chambers watched Killian run through the training grounds on a dark evening.

“I don’t know what the newlyweds do every night, except they suddenly enter the room.”

“They’ve been married for two years now. Can we still call them newlyweds?”

“Well, can’t I call you that until I have a baby?”

“Hey, if that’s the logic, are you still considered newlyweds if you live without children for 20-30 years?”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to have this kind of pointless argument between people who aren’t even married.”

“Ha! Chambers.”

Knox looked at him incredulously.

“I’m a man with a fiancée. I’m not going to be lumped in with you.”

“I have a girlfriend too, right?”

“That’s because it’s different.”

Knox was soon to marry Marlene.

Chambers stared straight ahead at Knox, who was grinning as he remembered his fiancée, because he hated the sight of him.

It was already a few laps, and Killian was having a hard time every night.

As the days passed, Emily looked more and more beautiful, and his feelings for her deepened. The more he wanted to reach out to her,

'Emily didn't say she was ready.'

He was fully prepared, but he didn't hear a word... or sense a signal.

So, he hid his desires for fear of hurting her, came home late, went to Emily's side while she was sleeping, and lay quietly next to her.

“Are you finished now?”

Chambers handed Killian a towel as he came out of the training ground late at night.

“Why are you guys here?”

Now that Killian is no longer involved in the organization, the Starr members have chosen to work for Duke Velvet instead of scattering.

Of course, Knox, the only one among the members of the organization who had rejoined the Howard family, was scheduled to go to Clive's estate and become its lord after marrying Marlene.

“I waited until you finished exercising because I had something to say.”

“The two of us are planning to take a vacation tomorrow.”

“Two people together?”

Killian raised one eyebrow, as if wondering what was going on.

“You two should stick together. There are already strange rumors going around.”

“Hey, wait a minute, what are you misunderstanding?”

Knox raised his voice in an irritated tone.

“I wasn’t planning on going anywhere with this kid. It just so happened that our vacation request dates overlapped!”

“That’s right. I feel wronged, too.”

Both of them were well aware of that rumor. The problem was that they both found it incredibly annoying.

A strange novel depicting them as lovers was circulating because of the several instances of Chambers interlocking his hands to subdue a violently rebellious Knox outside.

It would have been fine if it had just ended as a novel, but the problem was that it developed into a rumor and spread around as if it were an established fact.

Unlike Knox, Chambers didn't care either way and paid no attention to rumors, but since starting a relationship recently, he'd been burning every novel he could lay his eyes on.

Both Knox and Chambers were heated to prevent this absurd story from spreading any further.

“My ex-girlfriend’s parents suddenly came up to the capital, so I had no choice but to request a vacation for tomorrow.”

“And I have to take the day off tomorrow because it’s Marlene’s birthday.”

At those words, both men simultaneously frowned and looked at Knox.

“You applied for vacation the day before? Didn’t you know it was your fiancée’s birthday?”

Killian, who cared more about his wife's birthday than the Empire's anniversary, looked at him with contempt.

“There is no trash like this trash.”

"Everyone, stop swearing! Stop it! There was a reason for everything here!"

So, not long after he started dating Marlene, instead of asking her directly about her birthday, Knox paid a black market trader to get the information.

If you ask why, it was just a habit acquired while living in the mafia.

"Actually, according to the information I received, Marlene's birthday is a month away, right? That's why we even planned our trip to coincide with that!"

But the problem was that Marlene's birthday was tomorrow.

If she hadn't asked him first with a face full of anticipation, 'It's my birthday tomorrow, what are you going to do?'...

Knox was almost inducted into the Worst Boyfriends Hall of Fame, where he was constantly taunted by Marlene and her colleagues.
