DDVLA - Chapter 24

Lucas, still in his white uniform, walked towards her.

“Why are you so late? I’ve been waiting for a long time.”

It wasn't clear whether it meant she was late in arriving at the mansion or late in opening the terrace door, but his expression was filled with impatience.

“I did my best to hurry, you know?”

“There’s not much time. There’s a lot to talk about.”

“It’s the same for me.”

Elise smiled brightly at him. With so much information to glean from him, it was best to start the conversation in a positive atmosphere.

“Did you get my letter?”

"Yes. I've written down here everything I know about the Marquis and Marchioness of Clanton. Please check it out."

Elise carefully organized the notebook Lucas had handed her. She planned to take her time reviewing it after they parted ways.

"Thank you."

“But is it true that among the Marquis of Clanton’s grooms there is an investigator from the Middle Zone?”

“Yes. I’m sure it’s information that another investigator told me.”

“Everyone in Clanton’s stables must have seen him at least once; it’s strange.”

“There is a possibility that he is in custody, or...”

Based on what she'd heard from Mary, Elise had hypothesized several scenarios. Why had contact with the investigator been lost before "The Fallen Lover" even began?

“He might be turned into an animal.”

"Animal?"

"Yes. I heard he applied for a mission to the Fallen Lovers to experiment with an item that could transform humans into an animal. If something goes wrong with the experiment, he'll be in trouble."

"I see. I understand. I'll do my best to find it."

Perhaps because he was an agent of the upper world, representing good, Lucas didn't demand payment for her various requests for help. This was a stark contrast to her, who had always demanded payment for his requests. He didn't even seem to show any signs of being ostentatious or annoyed.

'This is why he can't win against the devil.'

Elise clicked her tongue inwardly and, as if doing him a favor, told him one piece of information she knew.

“Have you, by any chance, discovered the identity of Crown Prince Rex Russell?”

"I haven't had any contact with him yet. However, judging by the fact that his name and appearance don't match those in the original, I suspect he's a special possessed being."

Elise nodded.

“That guy is a demon.”

Lucas's eyes sparkled at her words. As the most important mission for an upperworld agent is to monitor demons, this information would be invaluable to him.

"How did you know? Is this information confirmed?"

"Yes. I'm sure. I heard it myself, and I knew things only a demon could know. And he also can split space and slow down time."

He frowned as he listened to Elise's story and became absorbed in thought.

“So, is this incident also related to their purpose?”

Elise's eyes sparkled with curiosity. Lucas seemed to know why Blake had rushed over.

“What did he do?”

"As you may know, the Crown Prince still has no wife, no fiancé, or even a public lover. In short, the position of a partner to attend the banquet is vacant."

“But?”

“Did you know that the day before the banquet, a ‘tournament’ will be held to promote camaraderie between knights and wizards?”

Elise shook her head.

“No. This is the first time I’ve heard of it.”

A friendly match, huh?

Perhaps he was referring to the kind of competition where knights wearing armor and wielding spears charge at each other on horseback, clashing with each other with a loud crash. Elise thought back to the jousting matches she'd seen in several medieval movies and dramas.

“What is the subject?”

“Treasure hunt.”

"... Yes?"

In her mind, the thrilling scene of a spear fight suddenly changed into a cute and adorable treasure hunt scene.

"Originally, a specific object was hidden, and a reward was awarded to whoever found it. However, the Crown Prince changed the rules, saying the old method wasn't very fun."

“How?”

"Even ladies and young ladies will participate in the competition. Each of them will nominate two guardians and, with their assistance, participate in the competition."

Elise tilted her head. She couldn't figure out why that was a problem. Lucas, reading her expression, added an explanation.

"And those very noblewomen and young ladies are the ‘treasures’ the tagger must capture."

“You mean a person got hurt in a fight?”

"Yes. The rule of this treasure hunt is that the one who gets caught by the thief must attend the banquet as the one who caught them."

"Ah..."

Elise understood why Blake was so restless. It was their first banquet as a married couple. And right from the start, they might have to walk in with different partners.

The reason Blake entered the palace was probably to request that Elise be excluded from the match.

“Hmm... I don’t think it will matter much.”

“What do you mean?”

"Even if Rex had some kind of plan, it's just a matter of choosing a banquet partner. I don't think that's all that important."

Of course, Blake wouldn't think so, but she didn't think it was something that would particularly interfere with her mission.

'Rather, I can use the match as an excuse to travel around, so it's not a bad thing for me.'

Maybe she'll be lucky enough to find and rescue the investigators at the Fantasy Control Tower.

'That is a treasure.'

Unlike her, Lucas' expression was not so good.

"It's best to remain vigilant until you figure out what his plans are. The devil is far more cunning and evil than people often think."

“Hmm. Yes, I understand. I’ll keep that in mind.”

Elise, who had been thinking of the perverted Rex Russell for a moment, answered lightly and smiled brightly.

“Anyway, we need to get moving now.”

At her words, Lucas nodded with a somewhat gloomy expression.

"Yes."

“What’s with your expression? Didn’t you memorize all your lines?”

“No. Memorizing it wasn’t that difficult.”

“Hmm... Then what was the most difficult part of practicing? I’ll focus on that part first.”

“...”

"Why can't you speak? You know we're pressed for time, right? It's okay, so speak quickly."

He hesitated at Elise's urging and said:

“Looking at the fingerprints, there was a part that made a sound by touching a woman’s body.”

“...Sound?”

"What kind of nonsense is that?" At Elise's puzzled expression, he recited the corresponding fingerprint to her.

"There's a passage that says, 'Put your hand under my dress and feel between my legs.' Then the female protagonist is supposed to moan, 'Eung.'"

"Ah."

“And there are a lot of things like that in the script.”

“...”

“I really don’t know what to do.”

Elise crossed her arms and stared at Lucas. "Fallen Lovers" is a movie script rated for the Blue Dragon. It features a fair amount of explicit scenes, more than half of which involve the lovemaking between the male and female leads.

“Come to think of it, I forgot to ask the most important thing.”

“The most important thing? What is it?”

“Have you ever had sex?”

"No."

“Well, I think this is your first kiss.”

“...”

“Are you standing? That thing over there.”

Lucas lowered his head to find the direction Elise's fingertips were pointing, and for a while, his gaze was fixed on the hem of his pants.

"What's that? Why are you just standing there without answering?"

His answer, heard after a long time, was the worst.

“I don’t know.”

“...?”

“Because I didn’t try.”

"Try..."

Elise let out a long sigh.

'Yes. What some people find overwhelming and uncontrollable is, for others, something they must strive for.'

As someone sent from the upper world, it seemed best to let go of her usual standards.

“Yes. Well, this is really important, so let’s check it first.”

“Yes.”

After answering, he just stood there blankly.

"What are you doing?"

“...?”

“Take off your pants.”

At Elise's words, the blood drained from his face.

'Oh. I didn't know I'd have to pull down your pants. I never imagined the day would come when I'd have to pull down your pants.'

Elise thought calmly.

"It's work, work. Think of it as getting a health checkup."

“Health checkup...”

"Ues. I'm the doctor, you're the patient. Is that okay?"

Perhaps thinking she had a point, Lucas unbuckled his pants and pulled them down to just below his hips.

“Is this enough?”

“You have to take off your underwear too.”

“...”

At Elise's words, his face paled, and he also lowered his underwear. Then, his core was revealed, completely uncovered. Elise gazed intently at it.

"I don't think you're the male protagonist, but you're pretty good. Even before erection, you should have no problem satisfying the female protagonist."

“Is it okay?”

"What's the point? Just stay still. We'll have to see if it's okay or not."

Elise pulled him to sit beside her. A comfortable position was always better for an erection.

“Feel good about it.”

Watching Lucas' expression, Elise carefully took his penis in her hand.

“Ugh.”

His green eyes, as clear as jewels, shook violently, but he only bit his lips and did not move.

'It feels like I'm teasing an innocent child. But I'm glad you listen so well.'

With that thought in mind, Elise slowly stroked her hand. But, as expected, his penis remained unresponsive.

“Hmm... Do angels not have sexual functions?”

“...I am not an angel, I am an agent.”

He said in a suppressed voice.

“Is something different?”

"Of course it's different. I lived in the real world for twelve years, then died, and became a resident of the upper world."

“Yes? So you’re a human too?”

"Yes."

Elise was surprised in many ways.

First of all, she had heard from Mary that going to the upper world was extremely difficult, so she saw him differently, and she was once again surprised at how ignorant he was about sex and other things, even though he wasn't an angel.

“How can a human being not know such things?”

“Where I lived, no one taught or tried anything like this.”

“Where did you live?”

"Monastery."

“From birth until death?”

"Yes."

Elise felt a pang of embarrassment. The upperworld agent, who had lived in a monastery until the age of twelve and then died, seemed to have no sexual desire at all.

“If this doesn’t work, you won’t be able to seduce the female protagonist. This is a big problem.”

“...Is it that big of a problem?”

"Of course. What kind of woman likes a man who can't be a man? There's no need to rehearse lines. It's over, the end."

“Wait a minute! I can’t give up so easily!”

Lucas grabbed Elise's wrist.

“I think there’s a way. You’re capable.”

His tone, which had been stiff, became closer to pleading, showing how urgent it was.

“Huh.”

Her eyes widened as she looked at Lucas.

“Yes. Then, would you like to try something?”
