Secret Lady - Chapter 22

It was a low and rich voice. She knew the owner of this voice.

In a narrow and dark alley where a person could pass by. Rosentine was trapped in someone's arms.

Once you see his face, he is a person you can't forget him. Shartus. Rosentine breathed a sigh of relief. They decided to meet in this alley, but she still wouldn't do it this way. Somehow, her body temperature came close. It was a narrow alley, so it couldn't be helped. Rosentine could also understand that it was to prevent the risk of tailgating.

But what you know and what you actually find yourself in are different. Shartus' face was too close. This face was too toxic to do this.

Her lips didn't fall off. Quietly, as the saying goes, Rosentine stared blankly at Shartus face.

Shartus stopped moving before he could say anything. Rosentine was in his arm. Be quiet. Looking at her.

In an instant, the heat burned her down.

The black hair touched his arm. It was a moment when each sensation was felt too vividly. While dark blue eyes put him in it, Shartus slid his arm.

Shartus's hand touched Rosentine's shoulder, which had a little space, and slightly touched it. Even the shallow temperature felt over the clothes distracts the mind.

A thin body about a head below. Near the shoulder that he couldn't bear to reach. Shartus clenched his fists. It was a movement that was overly forceful, as if to suppress something.

He thought that Roan would probably not be able to see this. He was fortunate. It was quite dangerous to be in her gaze.

Suppressing the urge to reach out right away, he looked at Rosentine.

She had no way of knowing if the impulse was causing an illusion or if her face was really slightly reddened.

Finally, Shartus pulled up the corners of his mouth and drew a line. It was a smile that made everyone around him dizzy.

"Is this too close?"

"It's so close."

With that one word, the magic of stopping was lifted. Rosentine exhaled with a sense of reality pouring out all at once.

'The mouth is alive.'

Rosentine thought she was alive at her firm answer, but it was like a double heart.

It was definitely close. For a moment, he looked at Rosentine with infatuated eyes. It was an eye that made her let go of her heart. The tense muscles in her back ached.

Shartus was smiling at her with clearer eyes than before.

He really has a more handsome face than necessary. She dismissed all thoughts of divination as useless and cut them off.

The answer she spat out at once somehow made his smile even deeper.

"You'd better step back."

"The spy is anxiously waiting."

It's a pity Shartus looked at her with an expression that clearly seemed to say that. She suddenly thought of this person and was tired.

Rosentine swallowed her scolding because he looked at her with subtly distant eyes. Like a person who puts up with something.

And the next moment, Shartus let her go and began to walk down the alley, naturally leading her.

Rosentine had no time to think otherwise.

"I was surprised that you made time faster than I expected."

Receiving permission to go out, she signaled Lucen. A sincere aide would have conveyed it to Shartus right away. That was the reason why they were able to meet in this alley.

Not to mention that Lucen, who received the message saying, "I'm going to buy a gift from the Second Prince for Arolne Mulde," burst into laughter.

He wrote to Shartus with a smile on his face, like someone who had found something funny.

Shartus thought it had been a long time since he had seen his subordinates look so happy

"Lucen said something like that. I thought it was because of me, but now you're using me."

"I'm glad I could give you some enjoyment."

She heard a light laugh.

It was a smile that she couldn't see because Shartus was in the lead. She thought she was fortunate, but strangely disappointing, that she had developed enough immunity to finally be able to appreciate that face.

Nord was moved to the basement of an abandoned building in an alley. It was said that the Hostang's power had been used, and the sound of it clanking beneath the carriage was heartbreaking. A new sense of tension filled the air.

Rosentine pressed her tongue against her lips, which had been dry for a while. The reason why she can be so distracted is probably that she has Shartus by her side. At least she won't be in danger.

The meeting place was not far from the alley. The alleys lined with shabby taverns are usually located at the back of the village.

Rosentine glanced at Shartus. His shiny silver hair is dazzling. She only hoped that the disguise tool she had brought with her would be able to fully demonstrate its abilities. No matter how much she didn't want to ruin that hair.

Beautiful things should be preserved, ah.

"I haven't seen Young Lady Mulde for a long time."

"Yes?"

“It doesn’t mean anything.”

Shartus said bluntly. He still didn't look at Rosentine. Rosentine inadvertently widened his eyes.

'I'm not really curious.'

That's what she thought.

'Are you saying I can just use you however I want?'

She couldn't understand why Shartus was saying this. Perhaps he was telling her that if she wanted to use him but was worried about him, then she didn't have to worry

Well, he is a cold and reasonable person. Rosentine nodded at the thought and hurried forward. Even though there was a difference in leg length between them, her feet had to be teased.

The bar smelled musty. It was the scent of sweat, mold, and hard liquor spilled on the floor.

The creaking sound of the floor was occasionally heard in the midst of the loud conversation.

The roof was almost collapsing, but they knew there was more space in this basement.

Without even a single hesitation, Nord walked towards this bar with a familiar step.

"It's a place where illegal brewing is done."

Shartus whispered to Rosentine. His lowered voice was screeching, and it didn't attract much attention in a room full of drunken talkers.

The face, which does not look like Shartus Kartazen, was the point of agreement they finally found. One face was covered by a hood that was covered in soot and almost crushed his features.

Even so, if it weren't for the dirty bandage wrapped around one arm, he might have been suspicious. No matter how much he tried to cover it, Shartus' height was an eye-catching axis.

The Prince's hair was now dark brown. It was thanks to the disposable hair dye that Lucen had obtained through an alchemist.

The bandage on his arm was as if to show that he was sick in his dirty bones, and no one could have expected him to be a member of the Imperial family. Rosentine was also wearing a hood tightly.

She thought about dressing up as an old woman, but she had already deceived Shartus once by pretending to be a grandmother. She couldn't recreate her grandmother's appearance in front of him again.

That was enough to hide in this bar. Most of those who couldn't do laundry properly covered themselves with hoods like this.

"It's been a long time."

"Let's wait a little longer."

"There is no other way."

Fortunately, Nord did not run away until the bar. He, like them, put on a hood to cover his wounds and walked slowly. With that single gesture, Shartus hardened at the sight of him quickly melting into the back alley.

It was like proving the past three years of spying work with his actions.

Nord looked nervous, as if he was being chased by something. Although they were following behind him, he couldn't see any uneasy eyes. Therefore, it was surprising that he went to the bar properly.

Rosentine felt that he had to be more vigilant.

"It's coming."

It was just as Shartus said.

Rosentine leaned down a little further and remembered the man's height. He was slightly smaller than usual.

The man in the black hood, who was looking around at the entrance, silently bounced a coin at the owner. The owner only brought the few types of alcohol that were available in the store at a reasonable price.

As the man sat down in front of Nord, there was a slight tension. Rosentine listened to them, trying not to show any nervousness as much as possible.

For safety, there was quite a distance away, so she couldn't hear anything.

CSartus also pretended to talk to her and listened to their conversation. Due to the tempered senses, she heard a sparse voice.

"...Catalyst..."

"...Did you do it?"

"...Success..."

The voice of success, as he commanded it, was Nord's. From where they sit, Nord was only looking back.

Rosentine watched the man across from Nord, but his face, hidden under the hood, was overshadowed, and she couldn't see anything.

Nord and the man were talking and swallowing a few sips of alcohol.

The conversation was surprisingly short. As Nord said, they seemed to spit out only the set business as if it were a password and then parted ways.

It was the moment when the man was about to get up from his seat first, Rosentine exchanged glances with Shartus. It was the timing to talk.

At this time, Nord decided to hold him back, and Shartus would take advantage of the gap to go out and catch them as they came out with him.

Durk.

She heard the sound of an old chair tilting. Rosentine looked at Nord. But he was not moving.

Rosentine jumped up from her seat and rolled to the side without noticing. She had to secure an escape route as soon as possible.

'It's late.'

She felt nervous in an instant.

As the man hurriedly got up from his seat and went to the exit, a group of drunken people shouted a toast and blocked their view.

Unable to see the man properly, Rosentine made a face full of anger. It was clear that the man was looking for an opportunity and fell backwards at that moment. She couldn't tell if he was aware of the tailing.

Shartus and Rosentine hurried to Nord. If they had made some kind of contract, there was no way they could leave Nord behind.

Yeah, if it were a contract.

"You got beaten."

After a moment of silence, Shartus spat out the words. A low, sunken voice rang in Rosentine's ears.

Rosentine was also unable to continue. She knew she had to move immediately, but the scenery in front of her seemed to hit the back of her head hard.

Nord was dead.
