Queen Of Villains - Chapter 92

After returning to her room, Emily lay in bed in a daze for a long time.

Tears flowed down her face without her knowing, soaking her pillow.

Her parents died because they saved his life, but she couldn't blame Killian.

The most unfortunate person here was Killian.

It was heartbreaking to see Killian, who was born into a ducal family and grew up with nothing to envy, suddenly lose his family and live a life at the bottom.

Moreover, the fact that even the person who saved his life was killed because of his actions made Emily sad and in pain.

She decided not to direct her resentment at the wrong person. The current Emperor was the cause of all this tragedy.

It all made sense why Killian hated the temple and the imperial family so much.

Emily got out of bed and wiped her tears.

Even if she was heartbroken and cried, nothing would change.

It would have been better to find something she could do from now on.

The more Emily thought about how many people's lives and happiness the Emperor's greed had taken, the more her teeth trembled.

Swallowing her boiling anger, Emily went to the room where Killian was.

When she knocked on the door, she heard Killian's voice from inside.

“Who is it?”

“It’s me, Emily.”

There was a sound of a chair being dragged urgently, and then the door flew open.

He looked slightly surprised, as if he hadn't expected her to come.

“Please come inside first.”

There was a faint scent of cigarette smoke in the room, but the room itself was very clean, except for the slightly disheveled blanket.

He guided Emily to a table by the window.

Killian looked at Emily with concern; her eyes reddened.

He felt sorry for having to tell so many difficult stories to someone who had just recovered.

“Are you feeling well?”

“Are you going to ask me that every time you see me?”

Emily chuckled at Killian, who kept asking if she was okay.

But Killian, who had seen Emily collapse before his eyes, could not help but continue to check on her health.

He never wanted to go through that hell again.

“My complexion is not good because I am just tired.”

Seeing Killian's worried eyes, Emily finally reassured him that it was really okay.

“Well then, that’s fortunate, but...”

“Actually, I came here because I have something to tell you.”

Killian waited nervously for Emily's next words.

Ever since he broke up with her that day, Killian's mood had been desperate.

He thought it wouldn't be strange if Emily said she wanted to break up right now.

In fact, if the Sinope family had not become entangled with Killian, or if they had faithfully followed the Emperor's order to kill him, they would have lived a peaceful life.

He was the one who had taken Emily's happiness away, and he was a dangerous person who might take away her future happiness as well.

As Killian was agonizing over such thoughts, he heard Emily's voice.

“I knew very well why you wanted to divorce me during the day.”

Emily, equally nervous, asked with her eyes downcast.

“But why do you want to be with me again?”

After a moment of silence between them, Killian spoke heavily.

“Don’t you know why?”

As Emily raised her head, their wandering gazes met.

It was difficult to ignore the heat in Killian's eyes.

Soon, the tears that had been gathering in Emily's eyes fell down her cheeks.

Killian's large hand, wiping away the tears, was still enough to cup Emily's cheek.

“I’m sorry. I like you selfishly.”

He continued, wiping Emily's tears with his thumb.

“I’ve had you in my heart for so long that I don’t know if I can express it simply by saying I like you.”

In the past, he didn't even have the courage to admit to himself that he loved Emily.

But the feelings that had been hidden for a long time had grown to the point where they could no longer be hidden.

He ended up confessing his love to Emily in despair.

Then, more tears flowed from Emily's eyes. She herself couldn't figure out why she was crying so much.

Killian walked up to her, hugged her, and comforted her.

When Emily didn't push him away and held him close, Killian found courage and opened his mouth again.

“Even if it’s difficult, can’t you still be with me?”

Even though he said that, Killian didn't feel resentful even if Emily didn't accept his feelings.

He knew all too well how selfish it was to confess his love to Emily in this situation.

But miraculously, Emily nodded with tears in her eyes.

“Really?”

"Yes."

A flash of hope flashed through Killian's eyes, which had been filled with worry and guilt.

He asked with a trembling voice, so nervous.

“Why...do you want to stay by my side?”

Then Emily wiped her tears and met his gaze.

“Don’t you know why?”

In response to his earlier words, Killian simply hugged her back into his arms.

'Emily likes me too.'

Killian's heart felt like it was going to burst when he realized this.

In a room where no one could disturb them, the two people felt fulfilled as they embraced deeply.

He didn't know that being in touch with each other could be such a happy thing.

After some time had passed, Emily, calming down and gathering her emotions, twisted her body slightly and put some distance between herself and Killian.

“But did you plan your rebellion well?”

Killian flinched at the blatant choice of words and replied.

“Yes, there is no way it will fail.”

With Emily there, it couldn't have failed even more.

“And even if you fail, I will prepare for you to live in exile in the Robert Empire.”

Emily shook her head at those words.

“Your sins are mine from now on. There is nothing to fear now.”

Emily, too, felt her anger surge to the top of her head whenever she thought of the current Emperor.

"I can't just sit there and do nothing. Tell me what your plan is."

Killian remained silent for a long time, as if deep in thought, before opening his mouth.

“I don’t want to involve you in this any longer.”

Emily's face hardened even more when she heard those words.

“Why? Are you not telling me because you think I won’t be of any help?”

“That’s not it.”

Killian quickly denied it and continued.

“I just don’t want to put you in a situation where you’re at risk.”

“From the moment I decided to be with you, I was in danger.”

Killian's expression darkened again.

Emily said, holding Killian's hand tightly.

“Don’t make that face. It was my choice to stay by your side from now on.”

"But..."

"I'm the one who escaped alone when I was kidnapped by the Giuliano Organization. Do you think I'm that weak?"

Killian shook his head slowly.

“You are the strongest person I know.”

“That’s why. Don’t try so hard to protect me.”

As Killian was choosing his words to reply, a loud knock was heard outside.

“Killian!”

It was Knox. Killian sighed deeply at his appearance.

'Should I be thankful for coming at this time, or should I curse you?'

Emily had no choice but to get up from her seat with a regretful expression.

“Let’s talk again later.”

"...All right."

Even though he answered that he understood, Killian's heart was still heavy.

When Emily opened the door first and came out, a startled Knox checked the door again.

“This is his room. I stopped by to talk to him briefly.”

“Oh, I see.”

Knox nodded with a puzzled look on his face.

Killian's sharp voice was heard from inside.

“Knox, come into the room.”

“Then I’ll go to my room now.”

Emily gave Knox a quick greeting and walked quickly down the hallway.

Knox entered Killian's room with an uneasy feeling, as if he had been intruded upon.

He flinched and took a step back when he saw Killian's face.

“What, why is your face red?”

And then, a mischievous smile appeared on Knox's lips, which had been blank for a moment.

“It seems like the atmosphere in the room between the two of you was pretty good?”

“I guess you haven’t been hit enough yet, seeing as you still have the energy to talk nonsense.”

Thinking about all the trouble Emily had to go through because of this kid, even burying him alive wouldn't appease him.

Knox gulped and protested at Killian's terrifying aura.

“Hey, wait a minute! But Emily’s okay now because I brought that old lady over so quickly!”

That was true. Then, should we bury him alive, leaving only his face?

No. He thought it would be better to bury that noisy mouth, too.

Knox asked again with a wicked grin, unaware that Killian was thinking such a terrifying thought.

“But are you two going to live together again?”

The question brought back memories of the conversation and hug he had shared with Emily in this room earlier.

"Yes."

Killian answered calmly, but he couldn't hide the smile on his lips.

Knox looked at his face with a strange expression and then chuckled.

“So, you had a good conversation with Duke Sadie?”

"Ah."

Duke Sadie. He hadn't even thought about that.

“Hey~ ha... That Duke was so excited at the thought of taking the lady with him. It seemed like he was making thorough preparations. He must be very heartbroken.”
