Queen of Villains - Chapter 126

Taking advantage of the early morning light, when no one would notice, Emily and the mansion family decided to move to the hideout.

Killian stayed by Emily's side the entire time she was checking to see if anything was missing.

“Are you going to keep following me around like that?”

At Emily's words, Killian finally realized that he had been following her all along.

It seemed like he was secretly anxious about leaving Emily alone.

He was embarrassed and asked while rummaging through his suitcase.

“Have you packed all your luggage?”

“Yes, to some extent.”

Emily looked back at the closet, lost in thought.

"Your Grace, you don't have any luggage, do you? It might be cold in the morning, so should I bring you a robe?"

Killian waited quietly behind Emily again.

Meanwhile, Roxy cautiously opened her mouth, seeing him holding onto his suitcase.

“Boss, I’m sorry, but can I take that bag down with me?”

“Oh, take it.”

Killian quickly removed his hand from the bag and stepped back awkwardly.

"Thank you."

Roxy packed her bag with a blank expression and went downstairs.

When Roxy, who was helping them pack, came down, Emily and Killian were left alone in the room.

'Yes. I'll have to pack another robe too.'

When Emily finally finished her worries and lifted her heel to take off the robe, Killian came over and took it off for her.

"Thank you."

Emily took the robe from Killian and started to open it.

“You seem very anxious because you’re thinking of breaking up with me?”

Killian nodded without denying Emily's careless remark.

“Yes, isn’t that you?”

Emily blushed and avoided answering Killian's honest admission.

“I feel a little sad because you seem so indifferent.”

“Because it was something that was bound to happen someday.”

Emily was also surprised at her own composure.

If she couldn't go with him, she should at least let him go with peace of mind, she said, accepting the reality much more calmly than she thought.

Perhaps it was because Killian had already eliminated the possibility of failing in this endeavor and never being reunited again.

Emily said, carefully touching the area near his still-healed wound.

“Please come without getting hurt.”

“I will finish it as quickly as possible and come back.”

Killian took Emily's hand from his face and kissed her palm.

Emily flinched involuntarily at the strange sensation.

But Killian seemed to want to go further.

“I want to kiss you one last time.”

“Roxy will come back up.”

Killian strode towards the door and locked it.

“Are you okay now?”

Emily burst out laughing at his active attitude, which was different from before.

Killian, who knew that was a sign of permission, slowly approached.

Perhaps because of the pressing need for time, his kiss was different from the affectionate kisses he had previously given her.

The self-control he had maintained for so long seemed to have crumbled, leaving only the impatience and passion of a teenage boy.

Emily's foot tripped as she backed away from the passionate kiss, and they fell back onto the sofa.

Meanwhile, Killian continued kissing Emily while covering her head to prevent her from getting hurt.

Killian's lips slid down the nape of her neck. A moan escaped her teeth.

“That, that’s enough.”

Emily, who was able to breathe, grabbed Killian's face in a hurry and stopped him.

Emily, who had been calm the whole time until he left, was completely blown away by his kiss.

“Why are you like that?”

Killian asked with a disgruntled expression.

“I have to go now.”

Emily, who was trapped between him and the sofa, forced herself out.

“To stabilize your magic power...”

“That’s enough already!”

That excuse didn't work on Emily.

Then, as Killian sat down like a puppy in the rain, Emily, who was feeling weak again, tried to comfort him.

“I’m afraid that if you go any further, I won’t be able to let you go.”

At Emily's words, Killian gave her one last warm hug.

Even while she was in his arms, Emily's heart was beating irregularly.

Outside, Roxy knocked on the door, indicating that the carriage was ready.

“I have to go down now.”

Roxy, who intuitively sensed that the two were sharing a deep affection inside, seemed to have waited for them outside as long as possible.

Soon, Emily and Killian also got up from their seats and went outside.

Killian personally inspected the horses and carriage.

“I checked it several times. Don’t worry.”

Ivan spoke with an uncharacteristically serious and determined attitude.

Perhaps because he had already put Emily in danger once, the military was very strict.

Emily, Chili, Roxy, and the priest, Franz, decided to ride in the carriage, Ivan and Mayo in the coachman's box, and Alvin and Cezanne followed on horseback.

“Madam, please come up this way.”

Roxy showed her to her seat.

Emily looked back once more before getting into the carriage.

She had already shared a deep hug with Killian once, but when it came time to leave, she couldn't bring herself to take a step forward.

Emily impulsively turned again and turned to Killian.

Killian hugged her tightly, supporting Emily's sudden weight.

“You have to come pick me up right away.”

“I promise.”

Emily's heart finally calmed down after hearing his confident answer.

“I’m really going now.”

There was no more time to delay.

As Emily climbed into the carriage, the door closed without a moment's hesitation.

Unable to bear to look at Killian, Emily closed the curtains by the window where she was sitting.

Soon, the carriage passed through the courtyard and passed the gate of the mansion.

Killian watched the carriage she was riding in drive away, then went inside the mansion.

***

The hideout where Emily and her party will stay is the building where she was lost while chasing Knox and Chambers.

“There really is a hideout here?”

Emily scanned her surroundings and the ceiling, but still saw no space other than the stairs.

“Madam, would you like to come this way?”

Alvin led her to the back of the stairs.

“The hideout is down here.”

Alvin bent down and pressed a hidden device. A click sounded, and a door appeared beneath the floor.

"Wow."

Emily looked at the novel device with admiration for the first time.

“Would you like to come this way too, sir?”

The priest Franz, who had followed them, was still looking around with a fearful expression.

"For the time being, we'll have to stay underground until the work is completed. We've provided ample emergency food and clean water, so don't worry too much."

"All right."

Priest Franz swallowed and answered.

Alvin went down first, followed by Cezanne and Emily.

Ivan, the last in line, came down after firmly locking the door.

The stone steps leading down to the basement were damp and had a distinct musty smell, but thankfully, once she got all the way down the stairs and entered the main space, the musty feeling disappeared.

This was thanks to the purification stones installed in various places.

"Mayo, you go to the dining room, check the ingredients, and organize them. Ivan, you turn on all the lights, and Chili and Roxy, make sure the hot water is working properly."

"All right."

Those who received Alvin's instructions each dispersed to carry out their assigned tasks.

"Cezanne will show you to your room, Madame. I will bring Father Franz to his room."

"Yes."

Emily exchanged a quick glance with Father Franz and followed Cezanne to her room.

Certainly, the hideout was incredibly large and comfortable for an underground space.

“But if you’re underground, isn’t there any way to know what’s going on outside?”

“Don’t worry too much, Madam, Pete said he’d share the situation through the communication channel,”

“Then that’s good.”

“You must be tired. Go to sleep first. I’ll get you a change of clothes.”

It was still a long time before dawn.

“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep much. I’ll sleep later when I feel sleepy.”

The two began to unpack together.

“Oh, right.”

Emily took out a robe from her bag to give to Priest Franz.

“I brought a robe to give to the priest.”

“I’m glad you don’t seem to have any luggage, sir.”

The room had a heater, but the hallway and dining room did not have a heater, so the cold air was felt due to the nature of the basement.

“You may be sleeping now, so I’ll bring it to you when it’s light.”

“Yes, thanks.”

She didn't plan on staying here long, so she didn't have much luggage to pack.

"Madam, then I'll go back to my room. It's right next door, so knock on the wall if you need anything."

“Yes, go in and rest.”

After Cezanne returned to her room, Emily, now alone, lay down on the bed with a gloomy expression.

'I wish it would all end soon.'

Lying alone in a dark room, many thoughts came to mind.

The Emperor was Emily's own enemy as well as her parents', and she felt sorry for having placed too much blame solely on Kilian.

‘Prince Kite will have to help him out...’

The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became.

She realized that the reason she was able to remain calm until now was not that she was strong-willed.

She wasn't anxious because Killian was always by her side.

When Emily realized this, she was overcome with an uncontrollable sadness.
