TMTNO - Chapter 100

I was afraid that if I came forward, it would only provoke Titiana, so I kept quiet and pretended that nothing happened.

I don't know what will happen if she finds out that the bravado I had shown the previous time was just a show, so I just stay quiet, as if I'm watching everything unfold.

“Be intoxicated by the fact that you are the heroine...”

I don't want to be a bother to Shish and my senior.

I don't want to hold them back from trying to improve the worsening situation, and I'm their weak point, right?

Rumors are circulating that the daughter of Marquis Hayley, who has no connection to the royal family, is haunting the palace, and I don't want to burden my senior and Shish. My senior might like it, though.

It seems there are no spies of Titiana's in the palace, but I don't want her to hear that I'm here.

“Come to think of it, Titiana lives quite comfortably.”

If I were her, I would send someone to the palace to find out.

It's easy to just bring a few noble men over and make them your allies.

"Since it's Dietrich and Yuno, do you naturally believe you'll win by a landslide? Well, that's understandable."

Since Titiana seems to like showing off, it would be more appropriate to show off her own great power rather than sending spies.

Even so, doesn't she know that Dietrich is dead?

If she knew, she might have dealt with it differently, but she doesn't seem to care at all.

Dietrich can't possibly die, so maybe they just think it's too late.

It's a good thing Titiana is stupid.

“No, she's not stupid.”

It is very simple and yet very effective to motivate and control people through fear.

“She's using the power she has very efficiently, you know.”

It seems like there's no thoroughness in preparing for when things might go wrong.

Actually, I was so scared when Titiana said she would kill me.

But I couldn't die here, I couldn't hand over Shish to a woman like that, so I held my stomach tight and pretended to be strong.

I'm not dissatisfied because I like to stay still, but I can't feel at ease because it's an uncomfortable situation.

“Why can’t I concentrate?”

I was sitting on the sofa, and eventually I jumped up from my seat.

Faintly, I seem to hear the red alert.

“Tri!”

A few hours later, Freisia came running in, panting. She looked a far cry from the Princess who had claimed she was mad but still maintained her dignity.

“Freisia, what happened that made you run out of breath?”

“They say they haven’t seen him in three days.”

“Shish, no, His Excellency? I don’t know where he went.”

The Princess shook her head violently, her long silver hair making waves.

“Wait a minute, when did you stop seeing His Excellency?”

Freisia exhaled and held up three fingers.

No way.

If it were Shish, he might have found another way, but when I combined what he asked me and what I knew, there was only one way to kill Yuno.

Go to the Magic Tower and destroy Yuno's heart.

Therefore, it is essential to dispatch personnel to the tower.

No way.

“Thank you for letting me know. By the way, is His Highness the Crown Prince at the Crown Prince’s Palace?”

“If it’s this time.”

“I’m going out for a bit.”

I hugged the Princess and quickly left the Rose Palace.

The reason the lightning stopped is probably that Titiana changed her strategy or got in a better mood.

The person who pushed through with force in the first place wouldn't change her response method now.

If that's the case, something should have changed when Dietrich left the tower. So, there's only one reason why the lightning stopped.

No way!

I hurried my steps toward the Crown Prince's palace, regardless of whether anyone was watching. I wanted to run, but that damn dress made it difficult to even walk quickly.

My feet screamed in the high heels, but I didn't stop.

I guess I should borrow Freisia's dress and Hyacinth's shoes, yes?

“Who are you?”

The knight guarding the front of the Crown Prince's palace stopped me when he saw me.

“Please tell His Highness that Retri Hayley has arrived.”

“Oh, Lady Hayley. Come in.”

I was about to grab the knight by the collar and scream if he wouldn't let me in, but luckily, the knight obediently gave me the go-ahead.

He even guided me to where my senior was.

“Your Highness, we have a guest.”

Through the door the knight opened, I saw my senior sitting at his desk.

Unlike the office I had seen in my dreams, the brightly colored space felt unfamiliar, and I was hesitating when my senior stood up and approached me.

“Lady Hayley.”

The senior opened his eyes wide and looked surprised.

Then, he came over to me with a smile. He closed the door with his own hands, gently grabbed my wrist, and led me inside.

"It's an honor that my junior has come all the way here in person. What's going on?"

The senior, who was smiling with his eyes closed, looked exactly like the Crown Prince I had imagined.

The only protagonist in the story with an honest and upright personality.

But I knew this man wasn't who I'd imagined. I didn't want to get into any arguments, so I asked calmly.

“Senior, do you know where Shish is?”

“He went out of the capital for a while. The public sentiment was so fierce that he had no choice.”

Weeeeeeeee! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The red alarm sounds like it's about to explode.

“Please be honest, senior.”

"What?"

“Did Shish go to the magic tower?”

My senior shook his head, and I smiled brightly.

"I also thought that my senior had sent him to the Magic Tower because I couldn't see Shish. He was the perfect person to kill Yuno."

“I know he likes my junior, so I wouldn’t have sent him to such a dangerous place.”

Even though no red flags went off, I still couldn't trust the other person.

Oh, it's different, it's different, you can just watch without sending it, right?

"Thank you for your consideration, Senior. I was so excited I couldn't even tell what was right and what wasn't."

If you take a step back, you can see it.

I wonder what kind of person the person in front of me is.

“I’m the one who distorted the whole story, so I’ll fix it.”

"...What?"

“I said I was going to kill Yuno.”

"Junior, what about the Prime Minister? Don't you think about what he's worried about?"

“I will speak to Shish myself, so please tell me where he is.”

I chuckled at the sight of his slightly shaking silver-gray eyes.

"Please tell me. Wherever he is, he's not more dangerous than the Magic Tower."

“Junior, so-”

“-Aside from what I said, Shish Milan is already preparing to go to the Magic Tower and kill the Magic Tower Lord.”

When I spoke strongly as if driving a wedge in, the senior closed his mouth tightly.

As expected, it was true.

I grabbed my senior by the collar. My anger was evident in his clear, silver-gray eyes.

“You sent him?”

“Well, I have no choice but to ask him to go outside the capital-”

“-Not that. Did my senior send Shish to the top of the tower?”

“Junior, junior, you’re mistaken-”

"-good."

I let go of my senior's collar.

“If you want to avoid it until the very end, then do it. I’m going to the Magic Tower.”

“He told me not to tell anyone. He didn’t want my juniors to know.”

“So when he said he was going, did he say so?”

I tried to calm down, but I couldn't stop my heart from racing and my voice from getting louder.

“When he said he was leaving, did you tell him that I loved him?”

Leaving my senior behind, who didn't respond, I strode briskly forward. I must leave this room, the palace, and go to Shish immediately.

But my senior hugged me tightly from behind.

“No, junior.”

“Let go of it. Let go of it!”

“How can I let you go when I know for sure that you’ll die if you go there!”

Shish went to a place where death was certain. There was no way he wouldn't die if he destroyed Yuno's heart.

I naturally knew how to get others to do it.

“Let go! Let go!”

Instead of answering, my senior put more strength into his arm, and I kicked his knee hard with the heel of my shoe.

“Ugh.”

The shoes my senior forced me to wear are actually useful.

I flung the door open and tried to escape the room, but I was caught again as soon as I took a step.

“Stop it!”

At the senior's command, the two knights in front each grabbed one of my arms.

“Let go! Let go of this!”

The knights didn't let go even after stepping on me, and my struggles in the heavy dress were clearly limited.

“Where are you going, Lady Hayley?”

“I won’t forgive you.”

I glared at my senior with all my might. Those silver-gray eyes, seemingly incapable of sin, were utterly repulsive.

“Do you think I can’t do anything?”

"No, I know you can do many things. You're strong, just physically weak."

“So, I’m telling you to let go.”

“Junior, calm down—”

“-Or else I will destroy the empire you love.”

The senior's face, which had always been calm, cracked.

The Crown Prince, torn between the heroine and the empire, chooses the empire. He prioritizes rectifying the state of affairs, which has fallen into disarray while he's been preoccupied with her, over searching for the runaway heroine.

Senior, you said you were free from the responsibilities imposed by the book, but I know you still love this country.

“Which is more important, the Empire or me?”

However, if he were the original Crown Prince, he would have chosen the country over the heroine, but he wanted to have both.

The senior slowly opened his lips.

“I love you. I would have died for you. Don’t you remember?”

His silver-gray eyes became wet, and his once calm voice became increasingly agitated.

“I said that the place where I would die was by your side!”

“Then you should have died quietly alone.”

I brought out the uneasiness that I had been keeping hidden because I was a senior.

“Don’t tell me you’re dying because of me.”
