TWDR - Chapter 110

Gremory shouted into the air.

"How can I believe you? As soon as I return to the Demon World, you might start making it rain. If you return to the Demon World first, I'll go to the Demon World too."

[The sound of rolling your head is loud.]

"You should roll your head, too. The current situation is absolutely unfavorable to you. If you do as I say, it's good for you."

[Why am I at a disadvantage?]

"You don't have the confidence to go head-to-head with me and win. That's why you just hide in the fog like this."

[I'm just giving you a chance, a chance to end everything peacefully.]

"That's funny. And you know we have a prophet on our side, right? I'll find you hiding in no time."

Serietti's sneer was heard.

[The prophet has lost her power.]

"No, she still has strength. How did we know that you would come to the south and come in advance? It's all thanks to prophecy."

Serrietti's answer was cut off. She seemed confused. Gremory pushed the momentum.

"Hey, Serietti. I don't know why you suddenly came to the human world and did this. But I want to get along with you. We're the ones who became witches unjustly, aren't we? Let's live while taking care of each other."

[ ...No, you and I are different. You are given freedom. I want to have it now.]

Serrietti's fingertips were strengthened. She wanted to take care of each other and get along well, because she was the same.

But it couldn't be. She had already fallen into Kona's trap once again.

If Gremory is not taken to the demon world like this, the pain will be endlessly prolonged. Serrietti could not afford to endure any more suffering.

The desire to push everything to Gremory and be comfortable grew in size.

However, Gremory's next words caught her off guard.

"Freedom was given to you, too, right? I don't know how you came to the human world, but you came to the human world anyway. Can we settle down here and aim for a new life?"

In the distance, Serietti's eyes shook as she sat in a tree. This was because Gremory had properly picked up the loophole in the contract with Kona.

'Yes, that's right. Kona didn't set a date for me to return to the demon world. She just sent me to the human realm. If so, wouldn't it be okay if I didn't return to the demon realm forever?'

Until now, she thought it would be a fight in which only one of them, Serietti or Gremory, survived. Therefore, she only thought of sending Gremory to the demon world as soon as possible.

But now that she's found a loophole, it's a different story. Maybe she can settle down in the human world as it is.

When Serrietti hesitated and delayed her answer, Gremory chuckled.

"If you don't attack the human world forever, I won't attack you either. Come out and sign a contract with me."

Gremory's voice had an invisible power in it. It was a terribly sweet temptation.

Serietti was tempted and thought something was wrong.

'There is such a big hole in the contract, could it be that Kona didn't know about it at all? Is there still something I don't know?'

She was scared. However, she didn't want to reject Gremory's offer like this.

Gremory, confident of victory, continued the temptation with a soft voice.

"Come out here. Isn't it going to make a contract or something when we make eye contact? I will never attack first."

[...]

It was when Serrietti was about to descend from the tree. She felt a tremendous pain near her heart.

'Ugh! What is it?'

Her breath was tight. No matter how much air she inhaled, her lungs didn't feel cool.

Serietti instinctively realized the cause. It was because she wanted to sit on the throne of the demon world and breathe in the dark magic of the demon world. Because the King had been away from the throne for a long time, the throne was calling Serietti.

"Ah, this is the price of escaping from the demon world."

She wonders if this is the reason why Kona sent her to the human world without setting a specific period of time. She can't stay in the human world for long anyway.

Serietti despaired again. And she had no choice but to regain her composure.

'I'm sorry for you, but this is the only way for me now.'

[ Come here, on your right, to the tree. ]

She trapped Gremory.

Gremory stepped cautiously. Holding the lantern tool high, Gremory spotted Serietti sitting in a tree in the distance.

Chession leaned close to Gremory and whispered.

"Mori, it seems like the negotiations ended so easily that it was suspicious. Can we trust Serietti?"

"Let's do what she wants for now. The first thing to do is to get rid of the poison clouds."

"You're not really trying to sign a contract with her, are you?"

"Let's appease her with a contract and find a way to invalidate it later. If things go wrong, you can quickly find the last piece of the original soul and destroy it."

Serrietti looked down at them, openly whispering in front of her. Then she quietly moved her fingertips to activate the trap.

Feeling ominous, Gremory pushed Chession next to her away.

"Ugh! Mori?"

At the same time, a green magic circle flashed from under Gremory's feet. It was a magic circle that instantly restrained and stunned the opponent.

Gremory cried in agony in the magic circle.

"Hey! I was really going to sign with you! I even thought of helping you settle in the human world!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I have a situation too."

"You fucking idiot!"

After the last profanity, Gremory fainted. Serietti jumped down from under the tree and slowly approached Gremory.

Chession, drawing his holy sword, stood in front of Gremory.

"If you take one more step, I'll cut you down."

Serrietti snorted. A human man was not a threat at all.

"Get out of the way. When I show mercy."

"I am also showing mercy to you. Stop right there."

"Who is merciful to whom? On the subject of inferior and weak human beings."

"I can sacrifice my body and aim at your neck."

Serietti was bitterly silent. A man who is willing to sacrifice himself for his beloved lover.

She was envious of Gremory for meeting such a relationship. At the same time, the pain of the past 200 years has become clearer. For the past 200 years, she was terribly lonely, and the only person she could talk to was her father, who had thrown her into hell.

At one point, she thought that Gremory might be the only one who understood her. However, looking at it this way, it seemed that there was too much of a gap in understanding each other.

That fact made Serrietti even more lonely.

If she had lived a normal life, she would have been able to meet a lover like this.

Ordinary and immature love. Serrietti wanted to try to get it.

"You said you were Chession Ethel."

"However."

"Don't judge me evil and stop me. I sacrificed 200 years to save my people. Without my sacrifice, there would be no Gremory. The extra life is enough for Gremory."

"I know your sacrifice, so I am trying to have such a rational conversation. I have something I want to ask, can you answer it?"

"What is it?"

"I wonder if there is a reason for refusing the contract. I don't think there's a good reason why you're doing this."

Chession's cold yet soft tone made Serrietti's heart beat. Has anyone ever asked her about her story in the past 200 years?

No, not once. Everyone was busy fearing and rejecting her.

Serietti, who was affectionate, replied obediently.

"I am bound to the throne of the demon world. If I stay in the human world for a long time, I will only feel the pain of suffocation. The offer to settle in the human world as it was was quite tempting, but for this reason, I had no choice but to decline."

"There was such a situation. Are you aiming for Gremory now? Are you trying to kill her?"

"To take her to the demon world and put her on the throne instead of me. Then I will be free, and Gremory will take over the role I have been playing. That's how I made a contract with Queen Kona."

"That's right. I can't understand all of your feelings, but I understand the part where you want freedom."

Serrietti cried. Comprehension. That word made her feel like she was about to burst with emotion. For some reason, she burst into tears.

"What did I do so wrong? I just wanted to save my people, so why is the price so cruel?"

"You didn't do anything wrong. You are just a victim of your father's selfishness, played with by Kona."

"Yes, none of the evil deeds I did were committed by my own will. This is the only moment when I act selfishly. So get out of the way."

Serietti strode up to Chession.
