TASITEB - Chapter 124

Episode 124. The Sinner's Words

"You..."

Laxus's stammering lips moved.

Given his long and deep obsession with Renisha, Laxus instantly recognized Helena.

"Why are you here? Did Renisha send you?"

Laxus snickered.

Lately, Laxus had been thinking of himself as no different from anyone selling his body on the streets.

He drank whatever alcohol and drugs were offered.

And in a hazy state, he spent the night with Leline.

Occasionally, when she came to, Laxus thought, "I might die like this, living like a stallion, miserably."

Helena stared at Laxus with calm, cold eyes.

The place where Laxus was staying was heavily guarded.

However, that didn't mean she couldn't find a weakness.

Helena was now in a position to cut off Laxus's head whenever she wanted.

Leline trusted Helena.

She was captivated by the fact that Helena was from the imperial palace.

And to think she was serving the former Empress!

“...Your concubine has begun to dream a new dream.”

Helena opened her heavy lips.

“It seems she no longer wants to be your wife. She wishes to bear your child and become the mother of the Emperor. Count Flans is preparing for the unborn child.”

“Ha, haha...”

Laxus let out a manic laugh.

His thin, emaciated body trembled.

Helena stared at Laxus with a face like a despicable insect.

He was not worth killing.

Death was already looming before Laxus.

“You’re playing a shallow trick. Do you realize that?”

Laxus chuckled.

The bottle he dropped made a mess of the floor.

Helena stared indifferently at the splattered liquor at her feet.

The culprit who had ruined countless lives was in an even more despicable state.

Hatred seethed and then cooled repeatedly.

“I can’t have children! No matter how hard they try to extract their seed from me, it’ll never work out, right?”

Laxus’s eyes flashed with a gleam.

In fact, Laxus was aware of his own condition.

“You’re dreaming useless dreams! You idiots! Do you really think Renisha is watching Count Flans because she doesn’t know? No. I know Renisha better than anyone! She’s planning to wipe out all those gathered around Count Flans in one fell swoop?”

Helena didn’t answer.

Helena couldn’t imagine such a miserable sight. The villain Laxus shouldn’t have fallen like that.

To earn all of Helena’s hatred, he had to be better than that.

Right now, Laxus was too good to even hate.

“Renisha is planning to purge the empire! You idiots. You don’t know anything...”

Laxus rambled incoherently, occasionally sprinkling curses.

A deep purple night fell over Laxus.

Death seemed to grip Laxus's leash, squeezing it.

Helena took a step back from him.

She hated even touching him.

Laxus pointed a finger into the air.

"That Duke of Lottera made sure his daughter was educated thoroughly!"

Laxus croaked.

"He knew she had become Emperor! I didn't even know that... In fact, I'm the most pitiful person. I'm used to every situation."

Laxus crawled to Helena.

He grabbed her leg.

Helena staggered under the madman's strength. She couldn't understand how such vicious power could come from such a skinny body.

Helena started to say something, then closed her mouth again.

It seemed better to just watch what he did than to accidentally provoke Laxus.

"You came to see me, Renisha."

Laxus sobbed.

“I wanted to see you, too, Renisha. We’ve been together until now. We can continue to be together. Yes? It was all my fault.”

Laxus nodded and kissed Helena’s shoe.

It gave her goosebumps. Helena ran backward.

“Renisha, what am I worse than that guy? Yes? I’m royalty. No, you’re the Emperor. I just need to be by your side. Renisha...”

Laxus groaned, curling into a ball.

“Even this is what it means to be an Emperor...”

Helena felt sorry for herself, having run this far just to kill him.

Laxus's lips trembled.

"Why are you smiling at him!!! Smile at me, too. Smile, I mean smile!!"

Laxus was completely insane.

It was worse than she'd thought.

If Helena killed him now, she'd regret it.

She wanted Lexus to live a little longer like that.

Repeated despair!

Helena lowered her head toward Laxus.

"No, I don't want to live with you."

Helena mimicked Renisha's voice.

Laxus was standing on the edge of a cliff.

If she pushed him with her finger, he would roll down.

Helena wanted to see that.

"I don't love you, Laxus."

Laxus's face turned even paler.

His breathing was so labored that she wondered if he was even breathing properly.

Helena licked her lips.

“I never loved you, Laxus. Even if you die like this, I won’t regret it one bit. I’ll forget you with ease.”

Helena quickly realized what Laxus feared most.

At Helena’s shrill, rasping voice, Laxus collapsed to the floor.

His eyes were those of a man overcome with despair.

Laxus glared at Helena and rolled on the floor.

“AAAAAH!! AAAH!! THAT’S NOT REASONABLE!!!”

Helena watched Laxus for a long time before leaving the room.

Helena checked the medicine being administered to Laxus.

Fortunately, it was late in the morning, when everyone was asleep, allowing her some freedom of movement.

“Is this it?”

She couldn’t quite figure out what kind of disease it was.

She didn’t know what it was, but if it had reduced a long-trained drug dealer to such a state, it had to be something serious.

Helena clutched every bottle she could see into her arms.

Helena glanced at the table and left, leaving it disheveled.

These things would further shake up this unstable mansion.

It would make it easier for Helena to move.

Countess Flans asked, her face pale.

“What do you mean, the medicines for His Majesty the Emperor have disappeared?”

“I don’t know.”

Count Flans shook his head.

There was more than one or two poisons that had been fed to make him do as they pleased.

They tried various methods, and sometimes even administered aphrodisiacs to activate Laxus’s functions.

They didn’t even treat Laxus as a person.

Count Flans paced the room. He pestered the Countess.

“Is he still here?”

Countess Flans shook her head.

“Damn it!! I brought a corpse here, and he’s so useless!”

Count Flans gritted his teeth.

“Perhaps the fact that the Emperor is crippled...”

“It might be real. There’s no other way. Leline has to get pregnant!”

“What method do you have?”

Countess Flans asked with an anxious face.

Count Flans sighed.

“Even if there’s no method, we have to make it happen. Find a man who looks similar to the Emperor. Just get her pregnant.”

“Honey! Our child isn’t a prostitute!”

“So you’re saying we should all die right now? Renisha is staring at us with her eyes wide open!”

“B-But...”

“It’s better than dying. Find a man right now!”

“Yes...”

Countess Flans’s worry deepened.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being dragged into some unknown swamp.

Countess Flans bit her lip.

And at that moment, Kien and Luna turned for a moment.

Laxus was drugged and hadn’t even left the mansion, and knowing Helena was inside, they decided it was okay to look away for a moment.

“Wow, I never thought I’d see him here.”

Kien cornered a shabby old man in an alley.

He'd heard rumors of a homeless person resembling Henry, someone blind, and he'd been hoping.

"Henry. I didn't expect to see you here."

Luna, with a sullen expression, grabbed the old man by the collar and hauled him up.

"Heh heh..."

Henry let out a hearty laugh.

A foul odor emanated from the man with cloudy eyes.

“...Is that little bitch dead?”

Henry asked, writhing.

“The little girl! The one with the blonde hair and gray eyes...”

“Shut up. Where did you put a young lady? Are you even human?”

“You made me like this, what can I do?! I had no intention of doing that to you!!”

Henry shouted with a phlegm-filled voice.

“I had no intention of sacrificing that little girl either!! I was just, I was just going to... ask His Majesty the Emperor to spare that girl! I was just going to report the traitors and be done with it! You’ll just see! His Majesty the Emperor is here, right? I’ll ask to be promoted again!”

Kien laughed.

A person’s nature never changes.

Luna stared at Henry as if he were crazy.

It was laughable that he would meet Laxus in that state, and it was absurd that he still called him Emperor.

What was the difference between Laxus and Henry?

The villains' words were horrific.

Henry shouted, spitting.

"It's all because of Renisha. That witch woman made me like this so I could... Ugh!!"

Luna, unable to listen any longer, kicked Henry in the stomach.

"Why are you listening to this? Such useless nonsense."

Luna swung her fist with an indifferent face.

"No matter how much trash you are, you won't touch a child. This thing can't be recycled. It should just be burned."

Kien stuck out his tongue.

"Still, hold on to your breath."

Kien rummaged through his pockets for a handkerchief.

He put it in Henry's mouth as he screamed.

It was to prevent him from biting his tongue.

"Why?"

Luna tilted her head.

"A lunatic like this should be permanently isolated from society."

“...I’m sending you to Hiloshine. You have to pay the price properly. Isn’t getting beaten and falling like that too luxurious a death? That guy deserves more pain.”

Kien gritted his teeth.

Kien clearly saw how the little child was being ruined.

Isabella’s bright smile was ruined because of that guy, and she was plagued by nightmares.

“Keuk! Ha, the heavens are watching! You traitors!!!”

Henry mustered up the last of his strength.

“It’s definitely divine punishment...”

“This is divine punishment, you crazy bastard.”

Luna swung her rock-hard fist one last time.

“Keuk!!!!”

Seeing the whites of his eyes flip over, Luna threw him to the ground.

Anyway, this guy only shut up when he got hit.
