IYDGMYD - Chapter 152 < END >

Epilogue

“What are you reading so interestingly, Chloe?”

Callius approached me as I was leaning against the couch, reading a letter.

"They say Luca became the Magic Tower Master. They say the wizards recommended Luca, who bravely took the lead in uncovering the truth despite the sacrifices he made, as a true wizard."

The Magi Tower Lords and executives associated with Kavala received punishment commensurate with their respective crimes and were expelled from the Magic Tower.

The wizards who were contemplating who to choose for the vacant position seemed to have their eyes turned towards Luca.

“It went really well, right?”

"That's great. Now he won't be wasting Chloe's precious time by coming and going from Ronheim Castle like it's his own home."

“Are you jealous?”

“I’m jealous.”

“I find Callius attractive when he’s jealous.”

“That’s why I do it. So that you won’t be blinded by my charm.”

Even though he responded in kind, he seemed to be incredulous and poked my forehead with his forehead.

I lifted the blanket I was covering him with and gestured for Callius to come inside.

He flapped the neck of his jacket, pretending to release body heat.

“Because I sweat.”

“It couldn’t be better. I’m cold right now.”

He had just finished his physical training and looked like a steaming cookie freshly baked and taken out of the oven.

I grabbed his arm and greedily engulfed his large body in the blanket.

Callius warned, lying down on the couch with me as if he couldn't stop me.

“I don’t even know if my sweat smells bad.”

“I also like the smell of Callius sweat.”

“Don’t take it.”

“The embarrassed expression is cute and makes it even better.”

Callius pushed my sniffling face away slightly as if it were a burden.

I playfully yelled at his behavior.

“Why! Can’t I even smell my husband’s sweat to my heart’s content?”

Callius shook his head and dropped the hand that had been pushing me. His expression was one of resignation.

“Have I ever told you that you have rather unique tastes?”

“About five times.”

“I’ve been very patient.”

"Twenty-five times. That sounds good. Fill in another one hundred and twenty-five."

“You plan to stick to your unique tastes for about one hundred and twenty-five more times.”

“I am a consistent person.”

“That seems like a fitting attitude for someone of imperial caliber.”

“Eeeek.”

At the mention of the Emperor's material, I clung to Callius' side, whined, and buried my face in his shoulder.

Callius stroked my head like that.

“Are you not in the mood?”

He asked if I didn't want to sit on the throne.

Arrental lost their Emperor.

And as the first in line to succeed, I was the most likely candidate to become the next Emperor.

Since the rebellion was successful, I had already been taking care of the affairs of the empire as the Emperor's representative.

The elders were hoping that I would return from Ronheim and ascend to the throne as Emperor.

It was something I couldn't refuse.

Of course, I had no intention of refusing.

I just wanted to postpone it as long as possible and prepare myself mentally as much as possible.

“If it’s burdensome and you don’t feel like it...”

“No, I won’t run away. I promised Karl—no, myself—not to do that.”

Furthermore.

“And I promised Callius, too. I would help you find your country.”

I was determined to become Emperor and make Ronheim independent.

Callius must be the King of Ronheim.

Only he was worthy to be called King of Ronheim.

Even if I became the master of Arrental, I didn't want to leave Ronheim as a part of Arrental.

As a fully independent nation, Callius hoped to restore Ronheim to its former beauty.

"Thank goodness we have Luca's teleportation magic circle. Otherwise, we would have become a married couple at the end of the month."

I climbed onto Callius' body and stroked his cheek as if it were a treasure.

“If I have to live like that, only seeing Callius once a month, I’ll soon wither away and die.”

“It’s cute.”

“I hope Luca will quickly advance his research on moving magic circles.”

Luca promised that if I became the Emperor of Arrental, he would secretly install a magic circle in my bedroom that would connect me to Ronheim's bedroom.

He was enthusiastic, saying that if he had only the Mana Stones of Rosendal, he could design a mobile magic circle that would reduce the physical size of the magic circle and provide more secure movement.

In return, we made a deal to supply Rosendal's mana stones to the magic tower.

Well, it was a win-win situation for me.

“Even so, we can only meet after each other’s work is over.”

“It’s still like that now.”

Callius gently comforted me.

“There won’t be much difference from now.”

“What are you talking about! The physical distance is that far.”

“If you put your mind to it, you can quickly travel back and forth using the magic circle.”

I slapped Callius on the chest with a pained face.

"You, indifferent person! Sometimes I want to hear Callius's voice outside the window, commanding the knights. I want to accidentally brush past you in the hallway, and unexpectedly bump into you and take you for an unplanned walk! Without even knowing anything!"

Callius just laughed quietly without saying anything.

"Why are you laughing? I'm serious. Think of a solution!"

“There is a way.”

“Really?”

“It depends on Chloe’s will.”

“What is it? Tell me quickly.”

Callius suddenly lifted me up and threw me down.

Our attitude has been reversed.

When I looked up at him, he bent down as if trying to whisper something.

He whispered in my ear in a half-raspy voice.

“Please pass the throne to your successor quickly, Chloe.”

“Where is the successor to pass it on to...?”

Callius smiled meaningfully.

I burst out laughing when I realized what that expression meant.

“Are we making it?”

“If we make it as soon as possible, we can return as soon as possible.”

“What is that laugh! It’s sinister!”

“It might help to be sneaky.”

“Wow!”

It was the beginning of a carefree and peaceful daily life, free from self-reproach, regret, rumination, anger, loneliness, and desire for revenge.

***

There was a large painting in the palace of Arrental.

The painting, which is considered a masterpiece by a famous artist, depicts a grand coronation ceremony.

In the hall where numerous nobles gathered, the knights of the guard stood solemnly in their full uniforms.

At the front of the knights stood the newly appointed captain of the guard, his red curls so puffy they looked untidy despite being neatly tied in a ponytail, looking up at the new Emperor.

And near the Emperor stood an old man with white hair and a very upright posture, with a solemn face.

The delicate artist even depicted the wooden leg beneath the skirt of the old woman, the new Emperor's closest confidant and palace butler.

It was a depiction that contained the artist's intention to reveal that the new Emperor was a person who actively recruited capable people without imposing any unnecessary conditions.

Also on one side of the painting, there were nobles of Arrental and people dressed differently, but they were dressed like northerners.

The fact that northerners were invited to the coronation alongside southern nobles indicated that regional distinctions had diminished.

And in the middle of the picture.

The new Emperor sat on the throne, wearing a coronation mantle made of kuna leather and snow hare fur over a pure white silk dress.

The Emperor, with her very beautiful face, looked at the man who was kissing the back of her hand with a gentle smile.

He was the new Emperor's beloved husband and King of Ronheim, who accompanied her in many of her achievements, became her absolute supporter, and showed her the romance of the century.

The title of this masterpiece is <The Coronation of the Holy King>.

It was a perfect painting depicting the beautiful coronation of Emperor Chloe Idelian, whom everyone loved.

If you don't get married, you die
