TWDR - Chapter 99

Chession followed Gremory gently.

Gremory eventually boarded a carriage with the coat of arms of the Duke of Ortega engraved on it. With the damn Kenneth Ortega.

Chession thought about it a million times. Even now, he will block the front of the carriage and catch Mori.

And then he gave up. It was because there were too many people around. A lord can't show a person scolding his lover on the street. If he does that, not only he but also Mori will be embarrassed.

In the end, Chession decided to secretly follow the carriage. Je was going to stop the carriage outside the city and in a place where there were no eyes to see.

'I can't send Mori like this. It's okay if I become ugly, so I should ask for a reason...'

Chession climbed into a nearby wagon. He gave the coachman a handful of money. The coachman smiled widely, not recognizing Chession.

"Oh, rich man! Where will I take you?"

"Follow that damn Duke's carriage."

"Yes? That is Duke Ortega's carriage. If you follow carelessly, you may see a bad..."

"If you can't, I'll take another carriage."

"I will do my best to follow them."

Chession tasted like death. What kind of conversation are Mori and Kenneth having alone in that magnificent carriage? His unnecessarily brilliant imagination ate away at Chession's mind.

In fact, in Kenneth's carriage, only such vicious conversations were going on.

"I'm not helping for free. Later, when Ethel asked Ortega for something, you gave it to me without saying a word."

"What? I decided to give you bail!"

"That's not enough. It's a job to save one of the four great dukes of the empire, but can it be a gem? Besides, I even healed your sister's neck."

"I've already ripped off everything I have from a witch who is doing something like that, but are you going to tear me up, too? It's really terrible."

"I'll get everything you tore up. If I'm dissatisfied, I'll just go."

"Oh, I'll give it to you! I'll give you anything!"

"Write a contract right away."

"Ha..."

Gremory, who took the lead, did not miss the opportunity. She roughly wrote a contract on the back of Lace's portrait and held it out to Kenneth.

"If Ethel asks Ortega for something in the future. Ortega will listen without hesitation."

Kenneth's expression was strangely hardened when he received the contract. It was because he remembered Catherine, who had blindly signed a contract with the devil, and was angry.

"You have to be very careful about signing a contract with a demon."

"Are you afraid that I will gulp down the Duke of Ortega with this contract?"

"Just add a few clauses. Ortega will only grant requests to the extent that they will not cause serious damage to the Duke."

"Oh, that's why people who know a lot are troublesome."

"What does that mean? Did you really want to eat the Duke's order?"

Gremory looked at the distant mountains without answering. Kenneth, who became eerie, wrote down additional clauses in the contract.

Finally, the contract was completed. Although some tricky provisions were added. Gremory was satisfied. For the time being, Ortega will notice Ethel. That alone will make quick-witted nobles turn friendly to Ethel. Especially in places like the aristocratic meeting, where there are a lot of troublesome fights.

"This contract will be useful to Chession."

This contract will be a bonus birthday present. Gremory proudly took the contract.

The carriage left the city and headed onto the forest road. Gremory was looking out the window when she suddenly noticed a pile of poisonous mushrooms growing on the side of the road.

"Wait, stop."

Gremory, who had pulled his head out of the window, said to the coachman. The carriage stopped, and Gremory got out of the carriage with a grotesque shopping cart.

Then she picked the bright red poisonous mushrooms and put them in her shopping cart. She only chose the crisp and big ones.

Kenneth got out of the carriage and looked at the mushrooms with disgust.

"Hey, that's a poisonous mushroom. Could it be that too?"

"Yes."

"Tell me honestly, you're trying to poison the anti-duke, right?"

"Think about it as you please."

Gremory attracted attention to the noisy redhead and picked mushrooms. Then, feeling the familiar presence, she looked up.

"Huh? Chession?"

Chession strode over with a fierce step. He summoned the sword and pointed the tip of the sword at Kenneth's neck.

"You."

"What, what?"

"Get out of my territory immediately."

Kenneth panicked and took a step back. He took a step back, and Chession took two steps closer.

"I'm on my way out. Why are you doing this?"

"If you crawl into my territory to target Mori again, I won't let you go at that time.'

"Yes? Grand Duke, there seems to be some misunderstanding..."

"Mori, stop picking mushrooms and get up. Let's go home."

Chession's voice, suppressed his anger, sank eerily. Gremory's eyes widened without knowing anything.

"Why? Don't you hate me going to his house so much?"

"How could it be good? Mori, I think I'm going to be very disappointed in you right now."

Chession's expression was distorted. He cried when he saw Gremory at ease.

"Why are you disappointed all of a sudden?"

"You don't know why at all?"

"Yes."

"Mori, I knew your emotions were duller than others, but I didn't expect them to be so twisted."

"Why are you so angry?"

"You said you were bored with me and rode away in another man's carriage. You said that was not enough, so you even thought about poisoning me. With the things in that cart!"

"?"

Gremory stared at his precious shopping cart. This place is full of precious gift materials for you, but what kind of noise is it?

"Make me understand, Mori. What the hell did I do wrong that made me come out like this? I don't think I've ever done anything that could make you even poison you."

"I think there is some misunderstanding, but I won't poison you."

"Then why did you pick those mushrooms?"

"...I can't speak."

It's a surprise gift material.

"Mori, please!"

"Anyway, I didn't collect this to kill you. I collected it because of circumstances."

"What's going on?"

"Unspeakable circumstances."

"...Go home and talk. Come here."

Chession grabbed Gremory's hand. Gremory stood there and held on.

"Let's go like this?"

"Then what else should we do here?"

"I can't let Lace keep setting up in that red-haired house. Maybe she'll do something bigger later."

"What? Lace?"

"Didn't you hear from Iris? Lace took over their house. That's why I'm going to clean it up."

"?"

"I guess something is going on with Iris. I asked her to tell you about the situation instead."

"Wait. There is such an important matter. Why do you go there alone?"

"Lace can charm men. So I tried to go alone because I was afraid you would be in danger."

Chession's face began to turn red. Kenneth sneered.

"I don't know what kind of misunderstanding you made, but isn't it a bit too much to point at the sword first?"

"...Be quiet. I'm having a headache right now
."
"If you have a headache, why don't you rest at the Grand Duke's residence? The worse you are in shape, the easier it will be to be possessed by witches."

"You should go to the Grand Duke's residence too."

"Yes? Why am I?"

"You're a man too, aren't you? If a witch can bewitch a man, won't you bewitch too?"

Kenneth could not refute. What if he comes to his senses at best, but then goes to the Duke and gets beaten again?

"That's true, but it's my house anyway, so shouldn't I go back?"

"After Mori has sorted out all the situations, then go back to the Grand Duke's residence. If you go anyway, it will only get in the way."

"But..."

"I will treat you with utmost sincerity. Please come to the Grand Duke's residence."

"..."

It was a bloody and coercive invitation. Kenneth had no choice but to climb onto the wagon that Chession had been riding in.

The wagon was very narrow. Therefore, the two men had to sit side by side and head to the Grand Duke's residence. A very awkward time continued, with only awkward silence.

Leaving these two men behind, Gremory headed to the Duke of Ortega alone.

***

The carriage arrived at the Duke of Ortega late at night.

Catherine was shivering, hiding herself in the grass by the gate. As soon as she spotted her brother's carriage, she ran out.

"Brother! Why now? Something big happened now!"

"Uh... yes. Your brother is here."

Gremory jumped under the carriage. When only Gremory appeared, Catherine panicked.

"Mori? Why are you the only one here? What about your brother?"

"He's staying at the Grand Duke of Ethel for a while. So what's the big deal?"

"The angry female servants united to kick out Lace. Because of their failure, all the female servants were locked underground. That's why I was put to play the role of the mad witch's maid instead!"

"It just went well. Do you have Rilkena flowers in your garden?"

"Yes, by the way?"

"I'm worried about kicking it right away."
