"Come in."
Chession entered the main door. Catherine, getting out of the carriage, walked after him. Covering herself with a black robe, he bowed her head like a sinner.
Arriving at the reception room, Chession bit all the servants and sat down facing Catherine. No refreshments were served.
"So, what do you want to say?"
Catherine held out a wad of paper that she had hidden in her arms. It contained the things she had been through.
Just as Chession was about to receive it. A voice came from through the closed door.
"Mori, is she writing something to convey?"
"Of course it is. She can't even speak."
It was the voices of Isolene and Gremory.
"There's no point in eavesdropping on this. I thought that a maid who would deliver the words for her would have been brought in."
"Well, let's just have a snack in the tea room."
Chession let out a faint laugh. Although there is soundproofing magic on the door of the living room, it does not block the sound of leaking but not the sound of incoming sound. The two maids didn't seem to know about it.
After removing the soundproofing magic for a moment, Chession shouted towards the door.
"I can hear everything. Just come in."
After about five seconds of silence, Isolene, with a sullen expression and a grave Gremor,y opened the door and entered.
Isolene was surprised to see Catherine. Her red and greedy hair was torn here and there, and her face had no life at all.
As soon as Catherine saw Isolene, she fell to her knees. Isolene snorted as if she expected it.
"Ha, you begged me like that, but I won't treat your throat. I guess I heard about the convent's drugs from somewhere, but I will never give it to you."
Catherine shook her head. Isolene's eyebrows twitched.
"Neck treatment is not the purpose?"
Nod. Catherine nodded slowly, then pulled out a pen and notebook from her pocket. Something, she showed Isolene a notebook.
"I'm sorry, I think that the reason my neck became like this is karma for cursing you. I don't want to ask for treatment."
"I'm glad you knew you did something wrong."
Isolene passed Catherine. And she sat down with Gremory on either side of Chession.
"Your Highness, what are these papers? Did she give it to you?"
"Yes."
"It's really bad handwriting. Let's see together."
Chession spread the papers on the table. The content was as follows.
***
The first time she summoned Marvas.
Catherine was terrified by the muscular demon that suddenly popped out.
That's also for a while. She was captivated by Marvas's gentle demeanor and seductive words, and eventually made a wish.
"Drop the damn Isolene Shien and Mori from the side of His Highness Grand Duke Chession Ethel, and make me have his wife!"
Marvas smiled happily and announced the completion of the contract. Without receiving anything in return.
"Hmm. In my personal judgment, I think it would be better to clean up the Isolene Shien side first. What is your opinion?"
"I'm going to get rid of both of them anyway, so the order doesn't matter."
The demon held out his heart.
"Now, put your hand on this and think of Isolene Shien. Then you can curse her. The cursed opponent slowly loses her will and becomes my puppet."
Catherine infused the grimoire with a swollen heart. The heart emitted an ominous black light. She felt fear and anticipation at the same time. She wants to see the annoying Isolene's mind gradually collapse.
A few days passed.
Catherine's tea room. Marvas sipped his plans while sipping a Caplan tea. Catherine asked as she leisurely ate the cookies.
"Using Isolene, a woman named Mori is also taken away from His Highness the Grand Duke? In what way?"
"At a very good time, in a way that can create as many victims as possible."
"Huh? Only Mori and Isolene need to be harmed, so what do you mean by creating as many victims as possible?"
"Uh-huh. I don't know. Do you think I, the archdemon, will be satisfied with just harassing those two people? You should enjoy the pain as much as possible."
Catherine's eyes rolled around in eeriness.
"If you make a victim... How far is the range? I hope there is no damage to the Grand Duchy of Ethel."
"I don't think that's possible."
"What? How so? It was like that when I made a wish! Send Isolene and Mori from His Highness's side, and let me have His Highness! To do that, of course, Grand Duchy Ethel should be fine, right?"
Catherine threw out the cookies and shouted. Marvas grinned, fiddling with his stinging ears.
"When you made a wish, you didn't ask for the safety of the Grand Duchy of Ethel."
"What? Where is that? I want to be Grand Duchess Ethel, but what if I damage Grand Duchy Ethel?"
"Then you should have told me right away. Didn't your family teach you that you should carefully present the clauses when proposing a contract? If you were a Duke's daughter, you would have learned enough."
"...You!"
"It's okay. If you don't know, you can learn it now. It's never too late to learn. Oh, is there going to be?"
Catherine's mind went white. Only then did she feel that something was wrong.
Yes, this man in front of her is a devil. There was no way that the devil, who enjoyed human suffering, would obediently grant human wishes.
"...I'll adjust the contract now."
"Uh-huh, that's not good. Isn't it impossible even among humans to touch a contract that has already been signed?"
"Then I'm just going to break the contract. I really didn't know you were going to touch the Grand Duchy of Ethel!"
"No. I already have a share of the work for you, so how can I break the contract at this point? Moreover, this was a favorable contract for you. I didn't get anything in return from you, did I?"
"The price? If you want anything, let me know. What should I do to break the contract?"
"No matter what you give me, I can't do it now. Oh, and there is something I forgot to say."
Marvas put down his teacup and stood up. The shadow created by the giant's body cast over Catherine.
"To maintain the curse, you need to nourish the caster's mental power so the more Isolene Shien is eaten by the curse, the more your mental power will wear out."
"What? You should have told me such dangerous information in advance!"
"Don't worry too much. If your wish comes true first before your mental power is shattered, you'll be fine."
"If not...!"
"Hmm, it's going to be a little difficult. Oh, I'll go out for a while and come back. I decided to meet a witch friend."
Marvas hummed and walked out of the tea room. Catherine trembled with fear.
'What will happen to me now?'
It was as if she had become a fish caught in a needle. There was nowhere to turn for help. If it becomes known that she has summoned demons and cursed others, she may be kicked out of the family
In the end, Catherine decided to solve the problem alone. She swiped the dagger from the mansion's reliquary.
That night, Marvas fell asleep on the sofa in Catherine's bedroom. Catherine, who was pretending to be asleep, grabbed the relic dagger she had hidden in her arms and crept up to Marvas.
"It's the strongest relic in my house, so I can kill at least the devil."
Then she cut Marvas's throat. Perhaps because it was a fairly decent holy relic, even Catherine, who was weak, was able to cut Marvas's throat in half.
'It's done!'
By the way, Marvas opened his eyes, stood up, and grabbed Catherine by the neck.
"Ugh! Wow!"
"Oh, I don't really like this kind of thing. Are you complaining because you didn't break the contract during the day?"
Then he threw Catherine out. When Catherine was in agony, Marvas pretended not to know what to do.
"I'm sorry, it's not a big deal, but I treated you so harshly."
"Ugh...!"
"I'll tell you a funny story, so relax. I just came to see my witch friend Etna."
"...Cough."
"Etna has received the power of the demon god and can go in and out of the demon world and the human world without being summoned. She's been in the human world lately, but recently she went to the demon world. I almost saw a bad look at the demon god."
Catherine trembled. She didn't know what that demon was; she was just afraid.
Marvas laughed proudly as he enjoyed the look.
"No, well, the demon god was eating all the souls of my people. And he threatened Etna. Mori, no, he said that if he didn't catch Gremory right away, he would eat Etna's soul as well. Oh, Etna's friend, Lace."
"Hey, what kind of is that..."
"So I was going to use you to help Etna not be eaten. But looking back, I thought it was a very bad idea, so I tried to find a way to be as considerate of you as possible, but in the meantime, you stabbed me. Isn't it so funny? I was going to treat you very well."
