“H-How did you know that?!”
Empress Elan asked in a hoarse voice.
“Because we are the Great Wyverns.”
Moiya shrugged and opened the small bag hanging from his waist.
“Isn’t this wonderful? Sharon made it for me, Moiya~?”
Moiya showed off his sausage storage bag to Empress Elan and took out two sausages.
With a serious look, he measured the length of the two sausages and handed the larger one to Moni.
“Elan, does the master know?”
Moni asked, eating a sausage.
“Huh?”
“Does she know that your tail is like this?”
“Oh... no.”
Every time Empress Elan tried to talk about Emperor Adrian, her throat ached.
Moni looked at Empress Elan’s grimacing face and hid the sausages behind her.
“Elan, do you want some too? But I can’t give you any. I’ll tell Sharon tomorrow and bring them over.”
“Yes.”
Empress Elan forced a smile.
“But why did the silver cutlassfish attack your neck? Why can’t you speak? Is something stuck in your throat?”
Moni asked.
“I think Elan wants to play Twenty Questions with us!”
Moiya said, clapping his hands. Moni also looked intrigued.
“Huh? Is that so? This will be fun!”
“I’ll ask a question first.”
Moiya raised his hand and put the sausage he was eating back into his bag.
“Elan, if our question is correct, just nod. It’s no fun if you tell, yes?”
Empress Elan nodded at Moiya’s words.
She was under a secrecy spell anyway, so she couldn’t tell anyone.
However, thanks to the two wyvern cubs, she felt a lump in her throat at the thought that she might be able to tell Zelda about this.
“Did Emperor Adrian do this and tell you to keep your mouth shut?”
Moiya asked, and Empress Elan nodded.
“It’s my turn. What did he do to the nape of your neck? Hmm, got it! It was a sword, right?”
Moni also raised his hand and shouted out the question and the answer in succession.
This time, Empress Elan nodded.
“But why did he do that?”
“Just tell Her Highness Zelda what you just said. Then she’ll know everything.”
“Wow, as expected, our master knows everything?”
“Moiya, let’s go quickly! Don’t you want to hear why the silver hairtail did that, Moni~?”
“I’m really curious too, Moiya~? Elan, keep your mouth shut. We’ll be back!”
“Yes, please.”
Empress Elan opened the terrace door, glanced towards Emperor Adrian’s terrace, and then gestured for Moiya and Moni to come out.
The two wyvern cubs flew through the pouring rain to Zelda’s quarters.
“...She said that if I just said this, my master would know.”
Moiya told me about her conversation with Empress Elan.
My heart sank.
“So, what’s going on with Empress Elan now?”
This time, Moni explained Empress Elan’s condition in detail.
“Her face is pale. There’s gauze around her neck.”
What had happened?
She must have been caught while monitoring Emperor Adrian.
“How did she get caught...?”
My heart raced.
The fact that Empress Elan couldn’t speak properly weighed on my mind.
Emperor Adrian, and by extension, Philike, were sorcerers, so it was highly likely he’d placed a spell on her to silence her.
What should I do?
I couldn’t go to the villa to see Empress Elan right now.
I’d kept a low profile with Empress Elan, mindful of Emperor Adrian, so I knew she’d think it strange if she suddenly found out I was visiting her.
“Sharon, prepare some inconspicuous black clothes. And a robe.”
“You’re not going to see Empress Elan?”
Sharon asked with a worried expression.
"I'm going to ask Bellos to use teleportation to send me to her room."
Sharon, relieved, entered the dressing room and took out a black robe and uniform.
But Moiya scratched his head and muttered,
"Ow? There's no magic top."
"What? When did you go to Bellos's room?"
"Before I went to Elan. There was only a crow, and the magic top wasn't in the room."
"A crow? Are you referring to the crow that Bellos summons?"
“Yes, Kami said the Magic Tower Master went to the Magic Tower.”
“...Ah.”
I wondered if Bellos had gone to the Magic Tower because of Hetor’s problem.
In that case, there was nothing I could do.
“I... You’re not planning to go to the villa yourself, are you?”
Sharon watched me pull the hood of my robe down, folded her hands, and stamped her foot.
“I’m going to sneak into Empress Elan’s room.”
“It’s too dangerous!”
“Don’t worry. It’s nothing to me.”
I patted Sharon on the shoulder and reassured her.
“I’m worried because Emperor Adrian’s room is right next to Empress Elan’s.”
“Would he go outside on the terrace when it’s raining so hard?”
“Still...”
“She got hurt because of me. If I hadn’t gone and asked her to check on Emperor Adrian, it wouldn’t have happened.”
I was anxious about what Emperor Adrian would do to Empress Elan tonight.
I felt like I wouldn’t be able to sleep unless I confirmed with my own eyes that Empress Elan was safe.
"Sharon, if I don't come back within an hour, then go see His Majesty. You know what I mean?"
"Yes, please take care."
Sharon knew she couldn't stop me.
She sighed resignedly and took my hand, urging me.
"Yeah, I already had a fever, but I think the cold rain will bring it down."
I smiled and opened the terrace door, and stepped out.
The main entrance to the residence was always under observation, so it was easier to walk down the terrace.
"See you later."
"Please, for the baby's sake, don't push yourself too hard."
"My baby likes me moving around more than just sitting still."
I said with a smile, and Sharon smiled faintly.
I left Sharon's smile behind and jumped down to the first floor of the building.
Moiya and Moni followed me from above, as if escorting me.
The shower I'd thought was just a passing shower continued to pour down late into the night.
In fact, I was grateful for the downpour.
Thanks to my black robes and uniform, and the heavy rain, I didn't encounter any court ladies the entire way to the villa. I arrived safely in front of the villa building.
I looked up at the second floor where the Tebello Empire's distinguished guests resided.
Moiya and Moni flew to the door of Empress Elan's terrace first, assessed the situation, and signaled for me to come up.
I stepped on the eagle statues jutting out from the villa building and quickly climbed over the terrace railing of Empress Elan's room.
As I opened the terrace door and entered, Empress Elan grabbed my hand with tears in her eyes.
"Why did you come so dangerously?"
"I heard from Moiya and Moni. Haa, you were spying on Emperor Adrian, and this is how you ended up like this?"
I felt a pang of guilt upon seeing the bandage on Empress Elan's neck.
Empress Elan opened her mouth as if to say something, but her expression immediately turned painful.
"Did he cast some kind of spell? Like a spell to keep secrets secret?"
Empress Elan simply nodded.
My prediction was correct.
Feeling sorry, I hugged her.
“I’m sorry, because of me.”
“No. I was too careless. I secretly covered up his conversation with Hetor after I crossed the terrace... Ugh!”
Empress Elan frowned, her hand on her neck.
“Don’t tell. If you tell me about it, you might lose your voice!”
I calmed the startled Empress Elan, taking her hand and continuing.
“I’ll ask the Lord of the Magic Tower to break the secrecy spell when the time comes. You can hear what I have to say then.”
“But...”
“I have a rough idea of Emperor Adrian’s plans. So, you don’t have to tell me.”
“Whew, do you really know?”
Empress Elan took a deep breath and asked.
“Yes, so don’t worry. From now on, don’t overdo it, and for the time being, just do as Emperor Adrian says. Empress Elan’s safety is the priority.”
“Your Highness Zelda...”
Empress Elan’s tears flowed.
“I came to tell you this.”
Just as I was wiping her tears with my hand, knock, knock—
Empress Elan's door burst open with a nervous knock.
Instinctively, I quickly dove under her bed and hid.
I didn't have time to run to the terrace door.
"Elan."
Damn it.
It was Emperor Adrian's voice.
"...Your Majesty. It's raining heavily outside."
Empress Elan's voice, trying to appear calm, sounded pitiful.
"I think we have a guest?"
"Huh? What do you mean? Who would come to see me at this hour of the night?"
"Foolish."
Emperor Adrian's sarcastic tone seemed directed at me.
"If you put a spell to prevent disclosure, if you try to reveal the secret despite the pain, I'll receive a signal."
Oh, damn it!
I hadn't thought of that.
It seems Empress Elan's attempt to tell me the truth while enduring the pain was the cause of the trouble.
What should I do now?
"If you endured the pain to speak, you must not be alone."
The vile Emperor Adrian's voice was drawing near.
I carefully drew the dagger slung around my ankle and held my breath.
Very slowly, Emperor Adrian's shadow loomed beneath the bed.
My heart raced.
I composed myself.
"Your Majesty! What are you doing?"
Empress Elan seemed to be blocking Emperor Adrian.
“Why are you so surprised? I think there’s a rat under the bed, so I’m going to catch it.”
“A rat, a rat in the guest room? Absolutely not!”
“We’ll find out when we check. Get out of the way. This time, you might really lose your head.”
“Ah!”
Emperor Adrian choked her throat with his left hand and threw her to the floor.
Unable to bear it any longer, I tried to get out of bed, clutching the dagger.
But Emperor Adrian was quick.
The bedskirt was lifted.
The sight of Emperor Adrian’s silver hair brushing against the marble floor was the first thing she saw.
“Peekaboo?”
“!”
I was about to swing the dagger when Emperor Adrian’s first words, out of place, startled me.
Could it be...
“Oh? I found it first, didn’t I, Moiya~?”
Moiya was inside Emperor Adrian’s body.
“Ha, haaaa...!”
The strength in my arm, which had been tensely holding me, gave out.
I lay there for a moment, then crawled out of bed and sat up.
Empress Elan still sat on the floor in a daze, but after a few seconds, she realized what had happened and crawled towards me.
“Your Highness Zelda!”
“I’m fine. Moiya has entered Emperor Adrian’s body.”
“I-Is it really Moiya?”
Empress Elan stared at Emperor Adrian with suspicion.
“Huh! It’s me, me.”
Moiya’s cute tone of voice was completely out of place with the eerie appearance of the silver hairtail.
I burst out laughing, but Empress Elan couldn’t.
“If I had been even a little later, we could have been in trouble, Moni~!”
Moni had transformed into a butterfly and was fluttering around the room.
According to Moni, they had fought over not wanting to enter the silver hairtail’s body, so they had transformed at the last minute.
“Once Moiya gets out of Emperor Adrian’s body, he’ll check under the bed again. We’d better dry it off,”
I said, squeezing the water out of my drenched robe.
“Oh, yes. Of course!”
Empress Elan brought a towel from the bathroom.
Together, we quickly dried the water under the bed.
“Moiya, do you remember what position you were in before you entered Emperor Adrian’s body? After I leave, assume that position and then get out of his body.”
“Yes! I remember. It was right before he lifted this, right, Moiya~?”
Moiya said, the bed skirt fluttering.
“Ah, that was really close...”
A cold sweat ran down my spine.
I safely returned to my quarters, took off my rain-soaked clothes, and headed straight for the bathroom.
Linel was getting close to returning, so I had to hurry.
When I returned to the bedroom after bathing, he was sitting on the tea table chair with a serious expression.
Moiya and Moni were whispering something to him on the tea table, then ran out the window when their eyes met mine.
"You've already told Linel all about this. "
Judging by the chill in the air around him, he must have heard I'd been to Empress Elan's residence.
He seemed to already know why.
That's probably why he's so angry.
"Linel..."
"Moiya, Moni, and you are the three troublemakers."
“...”
It hurt my pride to compare those two guys to me, but I thought it would be best to keep quiet for now.
“Of the three, you’re the one who causes the biggest trouble, Zelda.”
“That’s a bit... unfair.”
“Even if it’s unfair, there’s nothing I can do. That’s how I see it. Starting tomorrow, you’ll come to the office with me.”
“Are you giving me a job as the Emperor’s secretary?”
I asked jokingly, but...
“I think I’ll feel better if I keep you by my side, at least until the baby is born.”
He didn’t seem to be joking.
“Then what about Raphael?”
“Let’s put Raphael here.”
Oh, for a moment, I imagined Raphael acting as a concubine.
“It’s not like we’re playing role-playing games, what’s that?”
I asked with a laugh, but he glared at me with a look that said, “Are you laughing?”
“I’m sorry for worrying you. But I’m fine.”
I quickly hugged his neck.
“I didn’t think you’d let this go..."
Sigh-.
“...How did you know?”
As I kissed him while he was talking, he finally relaxed his furrowed brow and changed his words.
“I’ll let it slide just this once.”
“Thank you.”
Kiss-.
“Ahem, if you do anything dangerous again, I’ll really tie you up next to me, so just know that.”
“Yes, keep that in mind.”
Kiss kiss-.
“I’ll keep that in mind again.”

Linel’s cold gaze gradually melted as I continued to land kisses on her lips.
I tried to pull away at this point, but it was impossible.
“Where are you already?”
He continued kissing me softly.
My body was getting even hotter as the kisses continued.
As we were about to make love in earnest, annoyingly, he sat me down on a chair, pushed me further away, and looked at me seriously.
“What’s wrong?”
“I have something to say when I’m with someone of the opposite sex.”
He poked my swollen cheek and laughed.
“What is it?”
“The rain caused us to postpone our schedule by a day.”
“...Oh, really?”
“Even if the rain stops tonight, it’s a bit much to leave tomorrow.”
Linel said, turning his head out the window.
“Well, it’ll be a forest road all the way to the port, and if we leave right after a downpour, the road will be muddy and slow, and we’ll all tire quickly.”
“That’s right. We need some sunshine tomorrow to make our departure easier the day after tomorrow, but I’m worried.”
He said, stroking my stomach affectionately.
“Of course.”
I felt his cool hand and watched the rain outside the window, and a forgotten memory suddenly came back to me.
“Oh, I heard tomorrow is Melanie’s birthday. That’s good.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I heard from Rosie a few days ago.”
“Then... this will be a great gift for Melanie tomorrow, too.”
Linel said meaningfully and took something out of his uniform pocket.
“Your best friend came to see me with this when I was leaving the office earlier.”
He said, placing a small bottle of potion on the tea table.
“Bellos? What is this...?”
“Antidotes to be delivered to Hetor.”
Linel’s cold gaze gradually melted as I continued to land kisses on her lips.
I tried to pull away at this point, but it was impossible.
