TBDNS - Chapter 161 < END >

Episode 161. Epilogue. Ever After (2)

“Now that you’re done looking at the jewelry box, is it time to put a ring on it?”

Christine’s serious voice was heard as the laughter died down.

Adele currently wears a blue diamond ring called the “Snow Queen.” Christine had remade a ring identical to the one in the jewelry box and given it to her as a gift. But now, the original ring had returned.

He took out the ring he had found again and knelt before Adele, just like that day he had proposed to her so long ago.

“Are you going to propose again?”

“Of course. Because you’re still the only one for me, then and now.”

Adele removed the ring from her hand and held out her bare hand in front of him with a demure expression.

“Yes. I’ll accept your confession, Chris.”

Christine placed the ring on her hand and kissed the back of her hand.

Finally, Mia couldn't hold it in any longer and jeered, and Mark started running around, trying to calm his churning stomach for a moment.

Whether they did or not, Christine and Adele's eyes, gazing at each other, were filled with honey, then growing increasingly heated.

Then Mark, who had stopped running, said,

"Then you'll admit you've lost the bet, Your Majesty."

Christine, still unable to take his eyes off Adele, replied,

"Yes, I do indeed like your gift. Tell me, what favor can I grant you?"

A wicked smile spread across Mark's once-kind face.

"My favor is..."

"Damn it, Mark Castler! You damned punk!"

Less than half an hour later, Christine ground his teeth as he called Mark's name.

"That's right. Mark's become so mean lately."

Adele agreed, but the corners of her mouth twitched as she tried to hold back a laugh.

"You're not laughing, are you, Adele?"

“Oh, no way. I’m so angry right now.”

“Is it just me who looks so happy for someone who’s angry?”

“Of course.”

Christine looked at Adele disapprovingly. He sat in his chair, his hands on the armrests, not moving.

He was currently granting Mark’s request.

Thirty minutes ago, Mark had said in return for winning a bet:

“Give me both of Your Majesty’s hands tonight.”

“What is that?”

“I want the power to move Your Majesty’s hands tonight.”

Christine glared at Mark, his face bewildered.

“Is that really what you want?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“And what do you get in return?”

“Hmm... the pleasure of tormenting Your Majesty... joy... ecstasy.”

“Do you want to die?”

Mark winked and whispered in Christine’s ear.

“Have you forgotten? Your Majesty and I were once rivals. I’m just a bit of a harbinger. Dying is a problem for later.”

“So, you mean I can’t touch Adele tonight...?”

“If Your Majesty touches Adele, it’ll be me.”

“What!”

“But I won’t even lay a finger on Adele, and I trust Your Majesty will do the same. Then, have a good night, Your Majesty.”

Mia, finally realizing the situation, looked back and forth between Christine and Adele’s frozen faces before quickly covering her mouth. She barely managed to hold back a laugh. Then, pretending it wasn’t happening, she scolded Mark for no reason.

“Oh, oh, Brother! How are you going to deal with the aftermath...”

“We’ll worry about the later, Mia.”

“Well, it’s better to worry about the later. Have a good time, you two!”

The two of them smiled and disappeared at that moment, and Adele couldn’t help but find it annoying.

But seeing Christine sitting there, frozen in his chair, suffering, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Now that I think about it, Mark sometimes seemed a bit like a personality breaker."

"It's not like I don't like him for nothing."

At that moment, Adele's eyes flashed evilly.

"But what's wrong, Chris?"

"Why... are you suddenly so sleepy?"

Adele removed the pin that held her hair up in a bun. Her long, ebony hair flowed down her back in a tangle.

"I wanted to take a bath together after all this time."

"What?"

This time, Adele took off the clothes she was wearing one by one, smiling seductively as if provoking him.

Thud. Thud...

Each time the clothes fell at her feet, a beautiful woman's body was revealed, temptingly.

The sweet scent emanating from her drove him, with his keen sense of smell, crazy.

“But you can't even lay a finger on me, so that won't do.”

She was clearly enjoying this situation. No, she must be enjoying Christine's suffering.

“Damn it! You wicked woman!”

He shouted, clutching the armrest of the chair so tightly that it almost broke, and Adele laughed heartily.

“Oh my, that nickname is so endearing, it's been a while since I've heard it.”

Now she wore only a summer chemise, resembling dragonfly wings.

Having given birth to two children, the once delicate and pure Adele had become a completely seductive woman. Her pale, radiant skin and smooth, soft texture had never before enchanted him in bed.

Just imagining holding her made Christine's mouth water. His gums tingled with the urge to pounce and rip everything out at any moment.

This was truly a cruel torture for him.

“Adele, aren’t you afraid of the consequences?”

His shoulders shook violently as he gasped for breath.

“I am. Can’t you see I’m trembling with fear?”

Adele’s shoulders were indeed trembling. She was forcing herself to hold back a laughter that threatened to burst out. It might not have been for others, but his threats had no effect on Adele at all.

“Well, rest well while I take my bath, my love.”

After kissing his forehead lightly, Adele turned away. Then, as if remembering something, she asked again,

“Oh, should I leave the curtains open? No, but we should keep them closed for our privacy, right?”

This was the modest villa they had built for their summer stay. A curtain was the only partition between the bathroom and the bedroom.

So, not only was the sound of bathing heard, but when the moonlight rose, even the shadows of her washing were clearly visible on the curtains.

Adele, knowing this, continued to tease him to the end. Come to think of it, she might have been just as devastated as Mark.

“No, I’ll wash you when the sun comes up.”

But Christine wasn’t about to take the hit any longer.

“What’s that...?”

Crunch.

Finally, he pushed the chair back and stood up.

“After you pay dearly for provoking me.”

Adele tensed slightly. His expression now looked dangerously precarious, as if he were about to devour her. She’d been so absorbed in teasing him that she’d provoked him too much.

“What about Mark?”

“Don’t worry, Adele. I just can’t use my hands. It’s not impossible to hold you, just a little uncomfortable.”

As he approached, Adele unconsciously took a step back.

“Chris, whoa, whoa... Calm down.”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think that’ll work, Adele.”

Adele, who had been stepping back, naturally sank down on the bed. Her green eyes, staring at him, were a little tense, and they sparkled, shaking with excitement.

Even though he was her husband, whom she spent every day, her heart always raced when they faced each other like this.

As Christine's lips slowly descended before her, she unconsciously closed her trembling eyes.

Chook, Chook...

"Chris..."

His lips traced Adele's pale neck, and before she knew it, she was helplessly lying on the bed.

He held the mat firmly with both hands, looking at Adele in his arms with a devious smile.

"Don't forget, Adele. That your husband is a beast."

With a leisurely smile, his white, gleaming teeth bit into the hem of Adele's chemise.

Squeak!

The hem, which had resembled a dragonfly's wing, was instantly torn, and soon, a relentless kiss enveloped her.

"Chris, this... Ah, no!"

Adele writhed and whined. But if anyone had seen her, it would have seemed like she didn't escape even though she could have.

Perhaps it was she who had turned him into such a vicious beast.

She was a skilled wolf trainer, after all.

***

"Good morning, Mia."

Mia, who had woken up early for the first time in a while and was drinking tea on the porch swing, was startled. Adele's voice was more cheerful and cheerful than ever.

"Poor Mark. It seems his revenge failed, unfortunately."

Adele sat down next to Mia with an innocent face, as if she knew nothing about it.

"Revenge? And the reason I feel so good is because I found this ribbon again."

Adele turned her head to show the back of her head. Her long black hair was tied with a green ribbon, just like before.

“Oh, really? Not because you had a passionate night with His Majesty at the summer villa?”

“Oh, Mia. His Majesty didn’t touch me yesterday because he was keeping his promise with Mark.”

“Instead, he must have left marks here and there with those dazzling kisses.”

Mia then held up a hand mirror to show Adele.

Even though she tried to cover it, the back of Adele’s neck was red and swollen.

“Seriously, I told him not to do that here!”

When Adele fumed with an embarrassed expression, Mia chuckled.

“You two are still hot.”

“No. It’s just that Lizzie still wants to sleep with Mom, and he’s frustrated. Yesterday, Lizzie slept with Casey, so it was a rare chance for us to be alone together.”

“Then our Casey is their Cupid.”

“So I can’t help but adore Casey.”

“Now that I think about it, it seems like it was you who was frustrated, not him?”

Adele quickly changed the subject as if she hadn’t heard.

“Oh! What should we have for breakfast?”

“Lizzie is hungry, Mommy!”

Lizzie cried out, toddling onto the porch. Behind her were Casey and the other boys.

She thought they’d all grown up so much, but judging by the way they looked for Mommy when they were hungry, they were still kids.

Then, Mia and Adele automatically got up from the porch.

“Yes, kids. What do you want to eat?”

Everyone was quickly noisy, each saying what they wanted.

“I’ll have apple pie made by Adele!”

Adele turned, startled by the unexpected voice. A group of shabby travelers was entering the fence, overgrown with summer roses.

“How are you, Adele?”

The traveler smiled brightly, her blue-gray eyes even darker and her dazzling silver hair shining.

“Leana?”

Leana, who had appeared for the first time in four years, was holding hands with a boy about Lizzie’s age. She was so beautiful that her shabby appearance was almost unnoticeable. A child with deep, dark brown eyes and black hair that reminded her of someone.

"Are you finally back?"

Christine, who must have heard Leana's voice, also came out onto the porch.

"As long as you don't kick me out,"

Christine answered simply, swallowing his words.

"Welcome back."

"Phew, thank goodness."

Leana's eyes were slightly teary as she playfully stroked her chest.

"I missed you, Leana!"

Adele finally hugged her tightly.

Before she knew it, the children had quickly surrounded Leana and began greeting her and her child.

It was a summer day filled with roses.
