IWAEBS - Chapter 220 < Favorite Seat >

When the palace doctor said that Prince Tesla's testicles had burst, Linel's gaze naturally turned downward.

Oh, I wondered why he had made him wear a long shirt like a hospital gown...

'Wait, but didn't I attack that guy's vital part yesterday?'

Linel tried to recall his memories from the point where he had started confronting Prince Tesla behind Pecilini's residence building last night.

No matter how much he thought about it, he had never attacked Prince Tesla's vital part.

He turned his head to Commander Macrom, standing next to him.

What if it wasn't his doing?

Commander Macrom felt Linel's gaze and nodded briefly with a blank expression.

"Macrom, look at me for a moment."

He tapped the Commander's shoulder and went out through the iron gate.

"Go ahead, Your Majesty."

Commander Macrom followed him and said as he closed the iron gate.

"You did it, right?"

"Yes."

The Commander responded to Linel's question as if he had been waiting for it.

“I wondered why you were going to stay up all night in the spire... Was that your goal from the beginning?”

“Your Majesty had already left him in shambles, so I looked for the safest place, but that was the only place I could find.”

“...”

Commander Macrom said, resenting him.

“Is it loyalty to me? Or is it loyalty to Zelda?”

“It was just an act of pure love.”

“Pure love? Who, your pure love?”

Linel doubted his ears and made a puzzled expression.

It was a word that did not fit Commander Macrom’s mouth at all.

“Your Majesty may not know because you have lost your memory, but there was a woman more beautiful than Her Majesty the Empress by your side.”

“...How could someone who can’t even see know that?”

“I can feel it with my energy.”

He pondered who Commander Macrom was talking about.

“The Lady Bonis, who lived like a real sister to Her Majesty the Empress in the Kingdom of Shattonil.”

“Ah...”

After Commander Macrom added an explanation, he finally realized who the Commander was talking about.

Among the many scenes that came to mind when his second memory returned, there was a face that had appeared several times on the day Zelda confessed to being the 'acting Empress'. She seemed to be quite close to Zelda, so he guessed that the young lady was none other than Bonis.

"What does your pure love for young lady Bonis have to do with that bastard's testicles?"

He gestured to the iron gate where Prince Tesla was locked up and asked the captain.

"He did many terrible things to Miss Bonis. He cut off her little finger in the Kingdom of Shattonil and tried to rape her during the Continental Hunting Competition."

"You had feelings for her, didn't you?"

"I don't know if I should dare to have such feelings... Yes. But in the end, he lost his life because of me."

"Hmm, that's too bad."

Even when he lost his eyesight during the war with the Southern Continent three years ago, he didn't shed a tear...

Linel was somewhat surprised to see tears welling up in Commander Macrom’s eyes.

“But why does Prince Tesla think I cut off the lineage?”

“I said I received an order from His Majesty.”

“...What?”

“No matter how much of a sinner he is, he is the Prince of the kingdom, so a mere knight Commander can’t just blow it up, right? It’s a part of a part.”

“That’s why you sold me out?”

“I needed an excuse. I’m sorry.”

Commander Macrom slightly bowed his head and apologized.

“No, you did well. Is there a chance of recovery...?”

“There won’t be. I blew it up so clearly.”

“As expected, you are worthy of being the best in the Lapion Empire.”

Linel patted Commander Macrom on the shoulder as if encouraging him and went back inside the iron gate.

He met eyes with Prince Tesla, whose expression still looked angry.

“There will be a trial. You will pay the price for your reckless actions.”

Prince Tesla gulped at his words.

“The Incarnation Sword. That used to belong to Empress Roxana.”

“So.”

“That, that’s why, Your Majesty! I broke into Her Highness Zelda’s residence to return the Incarnation Sword to its rightful owner.”

“Your loyalty to Roxana is extraordinary. Did she ask you a favor?”

“!”

I shouldn’t have brought up Roxana...

Prince Tesla realized what he had just said.

Regret washed over him.

“No, that’s not it. It was just an act of good intentions.”

Prince Tesla rolled his eyes and changed his words.

Linel looked at Prince Tesla with a look of contempt.

The Prince’s gaze made him feel aggravated for a moment, and he threatened him.

“The crime of stealing the wyvern egg and the incarnation sword that Empress Roxana owned is not light either. If I reveal that at the trial, Her Highness Zelda will not be safe either. Hehehe.”

Prince Tesla laughed, revealing his missing front teeth.

“Do you have any evidence that Zelda stole those two?”

“Your Majesty, you saw the incarnation sword! The incarnation sword that was stuck in Mama Zelda’s heart.”

Prince Tesla snickered.

Linel grabbed Prince Tesla by the collar and said,

“The incarnation sword? It was a regular sword that was stuck in Zelda’s heart.”

“Yes? Who do you think I am, a fool?”

Prince Tesla quietly sneered.

“I saw it clearly. It was definitely the Incarnation Sword.”

“You saw it wrong. It was just a regular sword similar to the Incarnation Sword.”

At Linel’s firm voice, Prince Tesla momentarily wondered if he had really been mistaken.

“Do you have evidence? She must have hidden the Incarnation Sword and brought another sword!”

“Everything will be decided in court.”

“?”

Prince Tesla’s anxiety grew at Linel’s relaxed expression.

Why is he so calm?

Did I really mistake a regular sword for the Incarnation Sword?

‘No, it was the Incarnation Sword.’

Prince Tesla’s lips went up again.

‘But anyway, since the person in question is dead, I can make up an excuse and get away with it.’

Linel opened his mouth with a look of laughter as if he had read the Prince’s thoughts.

“If it had been murder, the trial would have proceeded immediately without notifying the Shattonil royal family, but it was attempted murder, so the trial was delayed.”

“?”

'Zelda is alive? The sword was clearly stuck deep in her heart?!'

Prince Tesla looked up at him with an expression that seemed to have been hit on the back of his head.

"So when the people from the Kingdom of Shattonil arrive, the trial will begin. Until then, hope for a miracle. Even if a miracle happens, I don't know if there will be a day when it can be used."

He gestured to Prince Tesla's vital parts with his chin.

'Where was this place?'

Emperor Adrian regained consciousness after a few days.

He opened his eyes and carefully examined the room he was lying in.

He tried to get up, but his back ached.

Only then did he realize that he had passed out after being hit in the back.

It was a night when he needed blood.

He would have been able to avoid missing one of the many servants in the palace, but he was wandering around a place with few people around to ensure his safety.

He wandered as far away from the main palaces as possible, and he found one servant near the castle walls.

He was successful in covering her mouth from behind. He was about to cut his neck and absorb the blood, but suddenly his body fell to the floor.

'Oh, right. I fell to the floor and got stabbed in the back by a sharp stone and lost consciousness!'

He had gone out to get blood, but ended up bleeding and passing out instead.

What on earth was that attendant's identity?

Did some of the attendants of the Lapion Imperial Family receive martial arts training?

The more he thought about it, the more it made no sense.

How many days had passed since that day?

Judging from his body being fine, it was clear that quite some time had passed.

If you don't expend energy, blood is produced little by little.

If you move your body, you need new blood again, but for now, your condition is good.

Emperor Adrian sat up, even though his back still hurt.

At that moment, Emperor Adrian's attendant, who had come into the room carrying a bed, saw him open his eyes and was startled, dropping the bed he was holding.

"A-are you awake, Your Majesty?!"

"How long has it been since I got hurt?"

"About ten days."

It was a lot longer than he thought.

Emperor Adrian nodded and laughed incredulously.

“I will bring Empress Elan right now!”

“Elan? Are you saying Elan is in the Lapion Palace right now?”

“Yes, she returned from the Tebello Empire with former Empress Zelda a while ago. And while Your Majesty was lying down, many things happened. A few days ago...”

The attendant reported in detail what had happened while Emperor Adrian lay unconscious in bed.

“...Empress Zelda has become the second concubine? Ha, things are getting interesting.”

“Furthermore, yesterday, Prince Tesla of the Kingdom of Shattonil was caught in the act of assassinating Her Highness Zelda and was beaten to the brink of death by Emperor Linel. He is now locked up in the Spire Prison. What is it?”

“What? Prince Tesla? Why did he do something like that all of a sudden?”

“I don’t know the exact reason. He broke into Her Highness Zelda’s residence dressed as an assassin, and rumor has it that he stabbed her with a sword. Her condition seems to be minor.”

‘That happened...?’

Emperor Adrian rubbed his chin, lost in thought, then raised his head and gave an order to his attendant.

“Go and bring Elan.”

“The Lord of the Tower will be here, so do you really need to go all the way to the main palace?”

Sharon said worriedly inside the imperial carriage heading to the main palace.

“I’m really fine. You saw, the area where he was stabbed by the Incarnation Sword today just looked like a cut.”

Overnight, the wound from the Incarnation Sword healed rapidly.

In addition, my physical condition was incomparably lighter than before, and my energy was much higher.

“I’ll meet Your Majesty first, then go to the Tower Lord.”

“Yes...”

Sharon also stopped worrying, saying that my complexion looked brighter than usual.

After a while, the carriage arrived in front of the main palace.

I got off the carriage and headed straight to the Emperor’s office.

He had gone to the spire where he had imprisoned Prince Tesla early in the morning, but he should be in the office by now.

Stiane, who was in front of the office, was surprised when he saw me.

“Is it okay for you to...?!”

Everyone who saw me being stabbed by the Incarnation Sword last night had the same reaction as Stiane.

I smiled and nodded.

“Tell him.”

“Yes? Oh, yes. Please wait a moment.”

Stiane quickly went into the office and let him know that I had come.

“Please go in.”

As I entered, he was walking toward the door.

“What’s going on? What’s wrong? Is it okay to walk around like this already?”

He looked at me with surprised rabbit eyes and circled me to check my condition.

“My recovery is much faster than I thought. More than Magic Tower Lord expected.”

“I told you not to overdo it today and not to get out of bed.”

“If it seemed like it would be too much, I wouldn’t have moved at all.”

When I reached out to him, he grabbed my hand and led me to the sofa.

“It’s good news, but I’m worried that you might be overdoing it...”

“Don’t talk unless you’ve tried the Incarnation Sword and the Imprint.”

When I raised my head and spoke in a haughty tone, he lightly bumped his forehead into mine. Perhaps because I was being playful, his worried expression seemed much more relaxed.

“If you came because you wanted to see me, sit next to me, and if you came because you’re curious about Prince Tesla, sit in front.”

Linel let go of my hand and sat down on the sofa first.

“Where do you think I’ll sit?”

“I don’t know.”

His eyes seemed to be curious about what I would choose.

I hesitated for a moment and then asked him again.

“What if I came for two reasons?”

“Right. Then what should I do?”

He also seemed to be pondering, and smiled with the corners of his eyes furrowed.

“I’ll sit here. It’s my favorite seat...”

I sat down on his lap.

“...Oh, is this about having a child?”

He quietly asked with a heated look in his eyes.

The hem of my dress skirt was being pulled up like a curtain.
