TWDR - Chapter 39

"Alas, my sister. My shadow crawling under the ground. Our destiny changed like a solar eclipse that day."

Chession pointed to a passage and explained.

"Because of this verse, it was once thought that witches were active in solar eclipses, but now everyone knows the truth. Solar and lunar eclipses are not cursed by witches or demons, but are just natural phenomena... Mori? What do you think?"

Chession studied Gremory's complexion, which suddenly turned pale. Gremory staggered and leaned into Chession's arms.

"Even in the Demon World, I always felt weird every time I read this verse."

Maybe it's because a lot of emotions have been awakened in the human world. What used to be a mild depression in the demon world now felt very intense. It felt like it was rumbling violently.

"...Pet me."

"I think you were influenced by the Sorcerer. Let's get out of here."

"I'm a witch, so I'm not affected by that."

"Seeing you talk nonsense, you are definitely affected."

Chession gently stroked Gremory's head as he stepped out of the underground.

The human body temperature was warm.

When Chession and Gremory went out holding hands, Isolene drank heavily by herself.

"Yes, you can. The man I once loved and my best friend could love each other."

Anna, who was watching, came out with a dry snack with her tongue clicked.

"Please eat this together. If you drink alcohol, it hurts your stomach."

"Whew. Hey, Anna. Sit down and listen for a moment. My unsuspecting best friend is loved by His Highness, but she doesn't know that it is love. Do you know?"

"I know, I know. Everything, I know."

"Of course, Mori has been severely witch-hunted, so there is a part of her that has become emotionally Insensitive... Whew. I'm frustrated when I see it."

"I feel the same way. Even though they are openly holding hands and going in and out of each other's bedrooms, our Miss Mori is very calm."

"Whew. At this point, our Highness is pitiful. Now, you can get a drink."

"Isolene, I'm fourteen years old. I'll drink cherry juice. And stop sighing. It smells like alcohol.

By the time Anna brought cherry juice with fruit snacks, Isolene was swaying her head from side to side.

Anna didn't like it when Isolene was drunk. She does all kinds of truthful things. Anna would rather have Miss Mori take care of Isolene by her side.

'I can't treat you badly because you're someone else's house.'

"Isolene! Stop eating and go to your room to sleep. What?"

"...Anna, I still hope you two do well. His Highness Our Grand Duke he are so old, and he still hasn't met a woman. So I was worried that there might be a problem, but now I see that it doesn't seem to be the case... Ugh!"

"Stop talking nonsense, let's go to the bedroom!"

"Now, wait! You brought some fruit snacks! Let me eat just one grape!"

Watching Isolene eat a grape, Anna thought she was still lucky. There won't be a political drama between them.

***

The next morning. A visitor who was not as peaceful as a peaceful Grand Duke applied to visit.

Kenneth Ortega. A mere human formally requested a visit to the witch Gremory. The butler hid his nervousness and greeted the guest.

"I waited for six hours at the meeting place I wrote about in my letter the other day. I know that Mori's refusal to show up for the appointment that day was a sign of refusal, but once again, I mustered up the courage to come to visit her in person. Please let me meet Mori."

It was a polite attitude uncharacteristic of Ortega. Kenneth was drawing out all the etiquette he had learned all his life. From what Catherine had heard, Mori seemed to dislike people who were not classy.

The butler showed a sign of embarrassment. Because of Miss Mori's personality, he never thought she would meet him. However, Kenneth also showed no signs of backing down.

"Then wait in the parlor. I will convey your intentions for the time being, but I can not confirm whether Miss Mori will respond to the call."

Isolene hid and watched the scene and giggled. She drank too much yesterday and smelled of alcohol.

"Hehe, damn Ortega. Let's taste it."

Anna shook her head as she passed by.

"Poor Ortega..."

"Uh-huh, what is so pitiful? He treated me like a maid every time, and the other day he broke into a tea party and beat me up."

The butler went up to her bedroom to tell Gremory the news. By the way.

Gremory was sleeping soundly. The day before, Chession had stroked her hair inexhaustibly until she fell asleep.

The butler was in trouble at the bedroom door. In the end, Anna, who followed the butler without thinking, took care of the matter.

"I'll give her news as soon as she wakes up. Butlet, look at your work."

"Haha, thank you."

Gremory woke up at 11 a.m. And Gremory had a habit of lingering for a long time without getting up as soon as she woke up. When she woke up, it was 11:30 a.m.

Once she got up, Anna immediately gave her the news.

"Miss Mori! You have a guest. Would you like to go out?"

"Nope."

"Aren't you even curious about who it is?"

"Not so good."

"Yes!"

Anna told Kenneth Ortega the news. But Kenneth sat down on the sofa in the parlor and frowned, saying he would wait forever.

The longer Gremory didn't appear, the more anxious he became. He was praised as the most handsome man on the continent, and he was never rejected by anyone. Because of this, he didn't know how to accept this situation, so he was embarrassed and started to get angrier.

His upright posture while observing etiquette gradually became more and more disturbed. His expression was full of anger, and his legs were shaking without dignity.

When he finally lost his temper, Gremory appeared.

Rather than appearing, he passed by the front of the parlor. There was a restaurant in that direction. Gremory walked by without paying attention to the parlor.

Kenneth jumped in front of her, hoping that Mori was leaving.

"Mori! Ha ha! You've finally come to see me."

"...? Who?"

"Kenneth Ortega. I'm Catherine Ortega's brother."

"Ah... Ortega. The redhead who tried to take my place at the tea party."

Gremory's voice raised a little. Kenneth flinched slightly and held something out in front of her.

"I'm here because I want to give you this. This is a brooch made of orientite found in the mines of the Duchy of Ortega. The name of Orient Knight is very famous, so I think you will be familiar with it."

"Why do you give me this all of a sudden?"

"That's it..."

"Are you just trying to slap your sister's rudeness with a stone? I don't need anything like this. When's your sister's next tea party scheduled? I'll go and do the same."

Surprisingly, Gremory came out top sharp, and Kenneth was taken aback.

"I'm sorry, Mori. I apologize on behalf of Catherine."

"Let her come and apologize straight, not to me, but to Isolene, who was the host of the party."

Gremory turned her back on Kenneth and made her way to the dining room. She's going to die of hunger, but she muttered to herself.

"What kind of bastard is he?"

Then, Kenneth Ortega exuded a different vibe than before.

"I didn't expect you to have this kind of personality, black hair like a grub."

"?"

"I don't know where you came from, and they picked you up on the street, so I knew the subject and thought you would be compliant. So, how dare you play with me? Damn, you'll have to be glad your master banned the witch hunt."

Gremory raised her middle finger and went on her way. Overcome by evil, Kenneth shouted into the back of her head.

"It's useless to regret it later! Even if you get down on your knees and beg, there will be no way you can save the Orient Nights!"

"Oh, yes."

At that moment, Gremory's middle finger popped into Kenneth's brooch. Kenneth rummaged through his empty grasp.

"What, what? What a trick...!"

"Idiot."

Gremory went straight to the restaurant. The Orient brooch was given as a gift to a maid she met while passing by.

"Now, a precious deal. You have it."

"What? You give me something like this?"

"I'm not interested in this rock."

Kenneth was furious at the sight of this, and out of pride, he couldn't help but ask for it back and walk out of the palace.

And the corners of the mouths of the two people who were secretly watching this scene crept up. Isolene and Chession. The two of them were spying on Gremory in different places.
