A play was in full swing in the marketplace. The most entertaining play in Peneus had already gathered. A raw, unrefined play. The nobles, too, were watching it in their plain clothes, ahem, and making a fuss.
The story of the Emperor who became a dog.
“Green eyes, the most precious eyes in the country. People worshipped them, saying that they were like sacred trees when they saw their green color.”
As if reading an old tale, a green-eyed male actor appeared in response to the old male actor's words and began to sing, raising his chin arrogantly.
“He hated the cuckoo chick and tormented it.”
The male actor forcefully hugged the female actor and whispered sweet nothings to her. While doing so, he treated the female actor like a dog and threw her a biscuit. The male actor threw her a toy and whispered that she did a good job. People burst into laughter at the female actor's brilliant performance.
“But he wasn’t real. He was a fool and started a war.”
The man with green eyes grabbed his head. Then he started to run away with his tail between his legs. The soldiers chased him. Then the woman who had become a dog stood up. Then the actors who played the people knelt before him.
“The cuckoo chick was actually real. The most beautiful maiden of the sacred tree rose up in indignation and saved the country.”
Salvation? The audience smiled bitterly. It would be okay to perform a play in the palace. They say it is an unrefined play, but isn't it praising the Emperor too much? One of the nobles, Derek, thought.
“And the man who thought he was the Emperor became a dog. The green-eyed man became a dog. The arrogant, cunning, and cruel man became a dog and fell into the abyss. Now the dog and the master have switched places!”
“You are my dog!”
At the words of the woman who became the Emperor, the green-eyed man imitated a dog. The male actor performed tricks boldly. He caught a ball thrown high in his mouth and made a creaking sound when she kicked his buttocks.
“The Emperor treated the Emperor like a dog.”
People burst into laughter at the humorous sight.
“The Emperor has become a dog. Not knowing that he is a cuckoo chick, he has tormented the woman he loved. He has made the woman he loved shed tears. Not knowing that the cuckoo loves him properly, he has locked the cuckoo in a cage.”

“This is the story of a foolish Emperor and a man. So the man became a dog for life. And the woman...”
The woman grabbed the dog by the hair and kissed it roughly. The young woman's appearance had long since changed, as she was frail and weak.

At the old actor's words, Derek couldn't look any longer and came out. His head was throbbing. He ordered his knights to stop their play.
He knows Daphne is being ridiculed. He told her to let go of Asherad. However, Daphne had no intention of letting go of Asherad.
Daphne never married or had children.
She chose to keep him by her side. Derek knows now. He knows what she would have chosen. Daphne willingly stepped outside the bounds of normalcy and, in so doing, went down the path of madness to love.
However, the reason the nobles supported her was because she did not engage in cunning politics like Belenus and did not act recklessly like Asherad.
Besides, no one could ignore the Emperor's 'dog'. Asherad had once again created a force to protect Daphne and Ian.
While doing so, he cutely leans on Daphne's lap and acts cute. The people's lives stabilized due to the war, and the people mocked the Emperor. It was not a wealthy country, but it created a country where people could eat and live.
Daphne will probably be an Emperor who is not remembered much in history. When Derek returned to the palace, he heard a voice.
