Run Away From Me - Chapter 131

#131. Awareness of Mistakes

Olivia felt Asherad's body temperature.

“Hands off.”

At those cold words, Asherad fell away from Olivia. Under Olivia’s resentful gaze, Asherad froze and couldn’t move. She quickly brushed past Asherad.

"Don't go."

“...”

“Don’t go!”

Asherad grabbed her wrist and shouted. Should we even consider this as her free will? Giving up her body to another man to save the lives of those insignificant people?!

But Olivia was stubborn.

She had no reason to follow Asherad any longer. Also, she was not supposed to help him maintain his honor as 'Asherad's wife'.

If he knew of her presence and used this place as a base for an attack, that alone would be a sin.

Besides, didn't he just take away her place to return to? Olivia had thought about that.

What if it wasn't true? Compared to their lives, Olivia's body was insignificant. It was true that Asherad had made her like this. Maybe she was going to offer her body to Asherad as a favor. Such twisted thoughts also occurred to her.

Wanting to show how broken she was by Asherad. A rotten heart that could insult Asherad with her own body.

However, Olivia could not take more than a few steps. The impact on the back of her neck caused her vision to black out for a moment. Asherad held Olivia’s waist as she fell and looked down at her.

This wasn't the original plan. This was definitely not the plan. Olivia suddenly wanted to be alone, which was strange. King Pindus, who smiled sinisterly despite having hurt her feelings, was suspicious. He was just watching Olivia to see if she had reached out to him. He didn't know if she had really gone to offer up her body.

Olivia said it didn't matter if King Pindus lied.

He looked at his sleeping woman.

Whose fault is this?

Asherad looked at Olivia in his arms. 'A woman should cherish her body, or more precisely, her chastity.' Asherad wasn't talking about a rule that even a dog wouldn't give her.

Olivia wanted to save people, to the point of giving herself cowardly to uncertainty, whether it was true or not. Should we praise that as a noble heart?

No.

Asherad knows. This is to tease Asherad. To mock him. She willingly threw herself out to show what he had done.

“You and I both have been ruined a lot.”

He laid Olivia down on the bed. Long eyelashes and a high nose. It was heart-pounding, and the woman he had pictured was real, and here she was.

Asherad stroked Daphne's head for a long time.

“Olivia.”

Asherad muttered another name for Daphne.

"Daphne."

He called out the name he had always wanted to call. He lowered his head to kiss the lips of the woman who had fainted, but soon lowered his head. For a very long time, he had not been able to face his woman like this, lost in his self-loathing.

***

Olivia opened her eyes in the morning. She barely opened her eyes because Ian woke her up. She felt a dull pain in the back of her neck. Olivia opened her eyes and touched the back of her neck. That bastard knocked her out. She was about to swear when she heard a whining sound.

“Mommy..."

“...”

“Get up, get up.”

“Yed, I got it, Ian.”

Asherad, you've done something great. There's still time, and it'll be fine to go tonight.

“Mom, let’s go out quickly.”

"Yes?"

“Hurry up, hurry up.”

Ian whined in response. Olivia sat up and looked at her red lips. Her makeup was still intact. Her clothes were the same. They were the same as they were in the evening. It looks like Asherad hadn't touched her. Olivia thought cynically.

“The old man is fighting.”

“What? What kind of old man?”

“Ah, ah, that old man. I mean, my father.”

Olivia thought absentmindedly, wondering if they were having a sparring session in the morning. However, unlike her, it seemed to be very important to Ian.

“Mommy.”

“Yes, I got it.”

Olivia ordered her servant to put on a shawl and head out. There were quite a lot of people for a mere sparring session. Olivia looked around, then followed Ian and dug into a place with relatively few people. Those who had been swearing at her were startled when they saw Olivia and quickly protected her. She was standing in front of Ian.

"Uh?"

Olivia blinked at what had happened. As Ian had said, Asherad was fighting. But why was he fighting one against many? Asherad blocked the sword of the one who had approached from behind.

Why are you doing that?

Maybe they were training to dance? But somehow, the swords between them were fierce. Moreover, everything that was shining seemed to be real swords. Olivia looked at the fallen ones.

“Quick, quick, stab him!”

The King of Pindus shouted. Then another knight rushed at Asherad. It was the first time he had seen Asherad use his sword so well. People rushed in front, behind, and to the side, but Asherad blocked their swords with his shield and rolled away. Another sword, he struck. The sword flew high into the sky. As the people retreated with a single scream, the sword fell with a clang.

His movements were quicker than he thought, and the speed at which he swung his sword was too fast to be seen. Occasionally, the blade and brim of his sword gleamed in the sunlight, and the sound of his sword clashing revealed his presence. Another tooth fell out.

“You stupid kids!”

The King of Pindus shouted. Judging from their reactions, they seemed to be soldiers or knights on the King of Pindus’ side. The slightly distracted atmosphere became serious. They were all looking at Asherad.

Asherad's specialty was that he could stab them with his sword, but he would kick them or intentionally hit their armor to prevent them from getting up. A long battle ensued.

“Father, it’s dangerous!”

Ian shouted. The fallen man rushed at him with his sword. Asherad flinched, twisted his body to avoid the sword, and struck the head of the man who rushed at him with his sword sheath. The sight was elegant and graceful. Everyone, including Olivia and Ian, was astonished by the simple movements and quick movements.

All the men attacking Asherad were gasping for breath. However, Asherad still had a lively expression. The men muttered at that.

“They say he is a living monarch...”

“You’re doing that alone with ten knights? Aren’t you just a god?”

It was a voice muttering in frustration. Olivia blinked and looked at Asherad. The knights of Pindus were overwhelmed by Asherad. They fled when Asherad swung his sword.

They tried to attack together, but Asherad easily subdued them.

It didn't take long. People looked at Asherad with tired faces. Asherad wiped his face with the handkerchief that the servant had brought him. Everyone applauded. The King of Pindus, his face turned pale, gritted his teeth. Then he forced a fake smile.

"Ha ha ha!"

“...”

“That’s really great, Asherad!”

“...”

“You are the god of Peneus, you are!”

Asherad smiled faintly.

“Your Majesty Taigan has spared me the honor of being the Emperor.”

The soft words were sarcastic, but the King seemed oblivious. He simply smiled and nodded, as if his honor had been restored.

“What if you get hurt? My precious little brother.”

The man who had been screaming with bloodshot eyes as if he was going to kill him spoke with a compassionate expression.

“Then, Master Tygun, will you keep your promise?”

Asherad's clear voice resonated among the people.

“Promise...? Are you serious?”

“Release the prisoners.”

Olivia let out a sigh at those words.

“You promised to release them if I win, right?”

Asherad's soft voice was heard. The King forced a smile.

“But, Asherad. Still, it would be better to leave some behind...”

“You promised to release everything. I believe that the fair and reasonable Lord Tygan will grant my wish.”

The King did not hide his displeasure at those words. When the King gestured, the knight below ran over.

“Why do you do this?”

“Because that’s what my wife wants.”

Then, Asherad smiled broadly and looked at Olivia. He approached Olivia, who was standing still, and reached out to kiss her. His soft eyes were directed at her.

“Isn’t a husband supposed to pluck the stars from the sky for his wife?”

The King frowned. He was glaring at Olivia. Olivia looked straight into the King’s eyes, as if he had already told her. Asherad bowed and greeted Olivia before going back into the castle. The words of release reached the captive women, and cheers rang out.

“Mom, let’s go too!”

Olivia nodded at Ian's words. Her gaze lingered on the drops of blood that had fallen to the floor.

***

Asherad sat on the bed. He took off his clothes with a pained expression. He almost cut his tendons. He didn't want to be spared; the knight of the Pindus kingdom only aimed for the vital points.

He avoided inflicting fatal wounds on them so as not to offend the King. This made him even more disadvantaged. It was a shame to see so many wounds here and there.

“Leon!”

He gritted his teeth and called Leon. He stopped the bleeding from the spot where it was coming out a lot. Of all places... it was on the back, so it wasn’t easy to stop the bleeding.

“Just wait a minute.”

Asherad turned around at the sound of the voice. Olivia was standing there. She was meticulously stopping the blood from flowing out of his back.

“Are you in a lot of pain?”

Ian was looking at him with a worried expression in front of him. Asherad was puzzled. Why did she bring this little kid here? Ian held Asherad's hand with tears in his eyes. When he grimaced in bitter pain, Ian said.

“Don’t be sick, Father.”

A wife who heals him. A son who worries about him.

The tension released within the fence of those who care about him.

Asherad thought, Maybe this isn't such a bad thing.
