TWDR - Chapter 34

Finally, Chesion got up from his seat and paced around.

'Could it be me... Do I like Mori?'

Chession had been convinced all his life that he was not a fool. But now, he felt like a stupid idiot.

Does he really like Mori? Or was it just that he was annoyed by the approach of a bad guy who loved her?

With a knock, Isolene came in after finishing her paperwork. She chuckled when she spotted Chession pacing around.

"Your Highness."

"Uh, why?"

"It's okay. Your Highness is also old, so you should have a relationship now."

"What are you talking about?"

"Weren't you lingering around like that because Lord Ortega sent a courtship letter to Mori? It's even a courtship letter from Kenneth Ortega, who is rumored to be the most handsome man on the continent."

"What? He's the most handsome guy on the continent? I can never admit it."

Isolene laughed at Chession, who was angry at the wrong part.

"Hurry up. If you don't make a move first, he might be the first to seduce Mori."

Isolene put down the papers on the desk and left the office. Chession looked at the back of her head and smiled.

'Do you really need to hurry up and intercept Mori? I don't like Kenneth's humanity, not that Mori is in a relationship with another guy.'

Chession saw a black cat jumping out of the window. The cat with ruby-like eyes landed gently and walked leisurely out of the palace.

"What, Mori...! Are you really going to meet him?"

Quickly, Cesion slumped down on the couch. He laughed when he realized that his feelings for Mori were deeper than he thought.

'What is love?'

After receiving Kenneth's courtship letter, Gremory became curious about love in earnest.

Love, what is it that makes Kenneth embarrassed even to his sister's enemy? Iris had explained love before, but it didn't make much sense. Therefore, Gremory decided to find out about love by selling her own products.

The first place she arrived was the small mansion of a wealthy commoner. It looked like an ordinary place, but there was a familiar black energy emanating from it.

Iris, who was following with her, asked.

- Why did you come here first?

"Wait a minute, that's what love I've learned about."

After a while, the husband left the woman and went to work. After a while, another man came into the mansion and began to spend time with the woman as a couple.

They ate delicious food together. They sat down to talk and even kissed each other.

It was an affair.

"I heard in the demon world that this is love. It makes people breathe and breaks down."

-  Mmmm... It's twisted a lot, but that's also a case of love. After all, they're happy with each other. It's close, though.

"But why do humans bother to do such a close thing?"

- Everyone has their own circumstances, but most of them are due to arranged marriages. After being forced to marry someone you don't want for the sake of your family, you share your love with someone else.

"If her husband comes back now, she'll be in a terrible situation."

- Right. It doesn't seem like a very desirable love, so let's go see another love.

Iris decided that it was right for her to be the guide. Otherwise, the wicked witch would only look for the house where the affair took place all day.

"Where are you going?"

- I'm going to go to the place I found last night when I went out for a drink. It's also a place that seems to need help, so it's a good place to go now.

Iris guided her to the next destination. They arrived at a remote village.

In front of a small house that was collapsing, a man who seemed to have nothing but a cart sat down and cried.

- Talk to them. You might even see a proper form of love.

Gremory was reluctant to hear Iris give her orders, but she was curious about 'proper love', so she obediently turned into a human form and spoke to the man.

"Hey, why are you crying?"

"Get out of here! Damn it!"

"Oh...!"

Gremory was amazed. She folded her arms and nodded with satisfaction.

"Your mettle satisfied me. Gremory, this witch, I will grant you one of your humble wishes."

"What! If you don't want to save my sick daughter, get out of here!"

"It's about curing illnesses, not work."

It seemed that her daughter was sick. Gremory, who understood that he meant to save his daughter, tried to enter the man's house, but the man stopped him.

"Hey, let's turn it off! Don't touch my daughter!"

"Then I can't treat her."

Then. A middle-aged local head who was passing by stopped and spoke to him.

"Don't worry about Ian. He has such a bad temper that if you talk to him, you'll only lose his feelings."

Gremory pouted her lips and walked away from the man's house. The man was worried about Gremory.

"Didn't you get beaten anywhere?"

"No, I don't. Thank you for your concern.'

"Haha, that's half a word. I wanted to be so young. Anyway, don't pay attention to that house, Ian was punished for being like that."

"Punish?"

"Didn't you just see Ian's personality? It's so dirty. No matter how cruel the residents are, he curses them. So no matter how bad the situation is, I don't want to help him."

Gremory glanced at Iris. When she saw the proper form of love, she felt like she had found the wrong number.

Nevertheless, Iris pushed forward with confidence.

- I'm sure you can see it. Keep finding out about the house.

Gremory glanced at Iris and whispered.

"I didn't want to know this kind of love. Tell me honestly, did you want to use me to save his daughter?"

- ...No. It is not.

"I think it's right from the look on your face."

- Anyway, it's one of the forms of love. The love between parents and children is also love.

Iris looked up at the distant mountains.

Gremory was annoyed, but she decided to help a man named Ian since she had come this far. She waved at him and walked away.

"Anyway, thank you for letting me know. I'm just that."

"Uh, don't go to that house!"

The man finally gave up and turned away. When Gremory arrived back at Ian's house, Ian was crying bitterly as he kicked the empty cart.

"Hey."

"What, why are you here again?"

Skinny Ian shouted, wary of Gremory.

"Come on."

Gremory held out a handkerchief to Ian. He was stunned from casually tucking it around, but it wouldn't hurt him to wipe away his tears.

Ian alternated between the handkerchief and Gremory's face, then picked it up and rubbed it all over his face. After that, his attitude softened even more.

"...Don't worry about other people's affairs, go your way. I'm getting the punishment I deserve."

Ian was surrounded by darkness. Gremory read Ian's life in the darkness.

He was originally the head of a family that lived with a normal family. One day, his wife fell ill and he had no money, so he entrusted her to a quack doctor.

The wife had given a different name, but the quack had already taken the money and had run away. After that, Ian, who was half-mad, became distrustful and wary of everyone.

"Why do you think you should be punished? I think there is someone else who should be punished."

Gremory's brow deepened. Sometimes, some people are more witches than witches, and more demonic than demons. Ian was mistakenly caught by such a person.

"The person who looks like the head of the village seems to have a heart to help you."

"I also have a sense of shame. I've been harsh to the people in the neighborhood. But how can I ask you to help me now? Come to think of it, it's been a long time since someone has been talking to me like this. Thank you for your care."

Ian turned around and entered the house.

"Now I just want to die painlessly with my daughter. I want to go to my wife's side. That is my last wish."

And then it closed. Gremory's eyes reddened.

"Contract concluded."

- Stop! That can't be a real wish!

Ian stared at Gremory. He looked like he was asking her what it was that she was talking about, as if she knew everything about him.

For a moment, he thought that the director must have told him, and he lowered his guard.

"I was stupid and gave all the money to the quack doctor, so it's all my fault. If I had that money, I could go to the convent and save my daughter."

The medicine in the convent was very cheap. Yet Ian didn't even have that money, so he was crying on the floor.
