TVOTP - Chapter 5

As I listened to the aide's words, memories of Yvonne came to mind.

Yvonne, who specialized in magic, especially fire magic, was not only good at making explosives, but was also passionate about burning documents and objects herself.

'Yvonne has really burned a lot of things over the years.'

I have to take this past with me too.

I cleared my throat once and then made a bland promise to my aide.

“I won’t burn it.”

“Really?”

“I told you it’s true.”

I answered sincerely.

'How can I burn it when I don't even know how to use magic right now?'

I spoke desperately to my aide, who did not believe me.

But since Yvonne's voice was originally sharp, the aide misunderstood that I was angry and was terrified.

“Well, then take care!”

...and then he just stormed out.

I looked at the door the aide had escaped through and chuckled in disbelief.

“Why are you so scared?”

I clicked my tongue, fed up with the reactions of those who were too scared of me.

Even if I just sit still and do nothing, everyone is afraid.

But after thinking about it for a bit, it seemed okay.

'Thank you for avoiding me on your own.'

I laughed self-deprecatingly.

Originally, I had such a bad complex about not having anything and not even having a family that I acted humbly towards people.

It was the same during my school days.

Even at the company I got a job at right after graduating from high school and turning twenty, they ignored me and thought of me as someone they could exploit.

It's all because of my attitude.

'It's a different life now.'

It's hard for people to change in an instant, so I haven't fully adapted yet, but I am Princess Yvonne Argenthoz.

Even though our relationship is very twisted, I have a family and a lot of things, so things are much better than before.

I even like the setting that Yvonne wasn't a pushover.

Yesterday, after receiving a paperwork penalty from the Duke, I realized that this world is not a place where you can get a lazy and peaceful life for free through hard work.

So, late into the night, I stayed up all night remembering and organizing in detail the current situation I was in as Yvonne, referring to the original text.

Currently, the male protagonist, Crown Prince Adrian, and the female protagonist, Princess Cordelia, have just returned from the battlefield.

Cordelia Mare was the illegitimate Princess of the Mare Kingdom, but she had proven her abilities on the battlefield and was beginning to seriously date Crown Prince Adrian.

'You could say it's after the middle part of the original work.'

The first half of the novel is about the female protagonist's unfortunate past, growth, and her fight with the male protagonist she encounters on the battlefield.

When the relationship between the heroine and the male protagonist, who returned to the Bervent Empire on good terms, becomes strained, Yvonne, unable to control her jealousy, throws a bomb in anger.

And then Yvonne begins to seriously harass the heroine, Cordelia.

'It would have been better if we had gone back to before throwing the bomb.'

I honestly felt sorry and smacked my lips.

Many novels start from childhood and become cute parenting stories!

Why did you have to come to me at such a difficult time and situation?

'I can't help it.'

The bomb throwing event is inevitable, but from now on, it's different.

Not only have I not yet become a blackened archmage, but  I have also never harassed the heroine since then.

Now, all I have to worry about is how to eat well and live well with this amazing ability.

But there is a big problem that has been passed over as nothing serious.

I honestly don't know how to use magic.

I was so scared that I might not be able to use magic because I became Yvonne.

In addition, there is another unexpected obstacle.

That's right...

“Yvonne, the fool who only loved magic!”

I gritted my teeth, blaming Yvonne for only following the path of magic.

The problem was serious.

The information about this world was not properly embedded in Yvonne's head.

Yvonne's memories slowly came back to me and began to blend in naturally, and I realized that just like in the novel, this evil older sister didn't learn anything because she was so good at what she did.

Yvonne, who knows nothing but magic.

In other words, you could say that her head is a flower garden.

Yvonne, who didn't even know much about her home country, was just a pretty, good-looking, evil magician.

I guess you could say she's an eccentric genius who's smart but hates studying.

"Ha."

A sigh escapes me.

Since I don't even know how to use magic right now, and I don't know anything, there's only one hill I can go up against.

There is no one but this noble Duke of Argenthoz.

Yvonne's position in this family is very shabby, so she must somehow improve her relationship with the fearsome Duke and the unlucky heir, the Young Duke Varden.

'What should I do?'

Letting out a sigh of relief, I looked at the mountain of documents piled up.

I habitually reached for the papers.

Well, my habit of being very close to documents for five years hasn't changed.

“It’s so fucking annoying, really. It’s a bad relationship, us too.”

I smiled crookedly at the densely written document.

Even in this cutting-edge era where everything is electronic, my boss and I made sure that all documents were printed out and kept on paper.

They are very old-fashioned and have no interest in protecting nature.

And it was also my job, working for a low salary, to organize the printed documents in order.

I frowned as I concentrated on my paperwork, trying to shake off my dark past.

“Hmm.”

The Argenthoz family runs a magical artifact sales outlet called 'Horses'.

This document is related to the sales performance of magical items sold from January of this year to May of last year at a branch called 'Martha'.

With what little common sense Yvonne had, I figured out that Martha was in the northwesternmost part of the country, a place with many monster hunters.

The content was very simple, although there was a lot of paperwork, as there were many small items for sale, such as movement orders, healing potions, pathfinding artifacts, attribute magic enhancers, etc.

'It's easy to organize. There's just a lot of content; it's nothing special. Why is it such a mess?'

It was so absurd that I couldn't help but sigh.

The aide explained that all I had to do was check this sales list and check for any errors.

'Who brings in a sales list like this?!'

As I read through the documents, which were simply listed in chronological order, I realized that it was a simple task that was easier and simpler than I had thought.

Oh my god. You're going to sort this out.

'This is modern civilization, Excel! The power of tables!'

My eyes sparkled like a warrior who had come to spread modern civilization, and I placed the blank sheet of paper on my right and began to quickly flip through the documents.

Whirlwind.

I was a bit disappointed that the speed of submitting documents slowed down a bit because I took a week off, but I soon got back to my normal speed.

There are a total of twelve stores that supply goods to the Marta branch from the Horses Top.

The names of twelve stores were written from column 1 to column 12, and the items for sale were written from row 1.

And to organize by month, I made five identical chapters from January to May.

From now on, all you have to do is check and organize the items listed in the documents.

'Hoo hoo.'

As I concentrated, I felt a little excited.

And as I did simple tasks, my complicated feelings became calm and relaxed.

Five hours to calm and focus my anxious mind because of the magic.

I worked so hard that I even forgot to eat. Eventually, I put down my pen and blinked in embarrassment.

“What? It’s already over?”

What did the aide say when he boasted that he would have to sit out for a few more days?

'The aide is quite the prankster.'

After clicking my tongue, I summarized the documents into a few pages and placed them on thr aide's desk.

As usual, I adjusted the angle of the documents and neatly organized the area around my desk.

The aide followed the Duke to work at the top of the tower and never returned, so there was no one to report his departure.

I finished all the work, but I thought I had to come back tomorrow and somehow impress the Duke.

'And... this might not be the end of the paperwork.'

Well, it doesn't matter.

This amount of work is pretty good, and I can even get off work early.

There are no transfers between hellish trains and hellish buses during commuting.

The Duke and Varden, who live together, are a bit scary, but at least they are great superiors who don't call me out while I'm working.

'And above all, the welfare here is so good.'

In terms of work-life balance, it's top-notch.

'Hehehe.'

I smiled happily as I thought about the esthetician waiting in the room.

I need to get a cool and fantastic massage soon.

And what should we have for dinner tonight? The chef at the Agenthoz Mansion, who can make any dish I want, is the best.

I left the office with a big smile on my face, but my personal maid, who had been waiting in front of me, made eye contact with me and shrugged her shoulders as if she was really scared.

'I wonder when this guy will get better.'

As I gradually became accustomed to this status and situation, I began to feel lazy in explaining to the maid that there was no need to be so nervous.

Instead, I firmly explained how I felt.

How I feel right now...

"Meat."

"Yes!!!"

I felt a little sorry as I watched the maid run off to the kitchen.

Was I too cold-hearted?

I should have said, 'I want to eat meat.'

I regretted it a little, but as I ate the meat dish that the maid quickly delivered to the kitchen and brought to my room, I realized it was a useless worry.

Anyway, whether I say it long or short, meat is always delicious.

Moreover, after a little bit of work, the meat tastes better, and life satisfaction also increases.

Yeah, I'll somehow survive by doing odd jobs like this at Agent Horses Top.

Yum yum, delicious, meat.

***

That night.

“...Yvonne did this?”

“Yes, Your Excellency. Isn’t the idea amazing?”

Duke Argenthoz stepped back slightly, feeling burdened as his aide snorted in extreme excitement.

And then he looked again at the documents in his hands.

'I knew Yvonne was bright, but what the heck is this?!'

The Duke's eyes shook wildly in shock.

“I can’t believe it.”
