THIBV - Chapter 174

Millea was unable to leave the kingdom and remained in the port.

At first, she just waited there for Bridget to come.

By the time she realized that Bridget wasn't coming, she just didn't want to leave and wasted time there.

Because she was in hiding, she didn't hear any news from the palace.

Several days passed like that.

"There's a turtle with dark ears here! Hehehe!"

Someone broke into the inn room where Millea was staying.

It just so happened that Eric had gone out for a moment to get necessities.

"Who, who..!"

Millea was shocked to learn that the forces opposing Julian had finally found her.

She believed that by now the neo-royalists had disintegrated and that Lord Langston or the Duke of Linchester had taken control of the palace.

Julian and Bridget were probably murdered.

Those were the days when she beat her chest and cried.

Millea thought she had come to see the intruder.

'I got caught in the end.'

If she had known this would happen, she would have just died by Julian's side.

She tried to avoid it cowardly, but in the end, she couldn't escape and died.

But the person who took off his hood and revealed himself was a very unexpected person.

"Tsk tsk. It wasn't a turtle, it was a corpse!"

Speaking in a voice thick with phlegm, he trudged towards Millea on his bare feet and plopped himself down at the table.

"You are..."

Millea had no idea how this man got here, how he got in through the locked door.
Nostrum smiled, revealing his few rotten teeth.

Then he asked Millea.

"Please give me some water. Oh, I'm so thirsty!"

Millea panicked and hurriedly poured water into a cup and held it out to him.

Nostrum took it with his dirty hands covered in dirt, gulped it down, and laughed heartily before saying:

"Thanks to you, I survived! You saved my life, so I should repay you!"

"...?"

Nostrum took something out of his pocket and handed it to Millea.

"Go to the one who changed your destiny."

"The one who changed my destiny?"

Nostrum slammed down the staff he was holding.

"Hey, you! You didn't know that until now?"

Millea knew that Nostrum was giving her a prophecy.

She bowed down respectfully.

"Old man. Please give me wisdom. I am so foolish. Who should I go to?"

"The person you hold in your heart and mourn for. The person you miss. The person you look forward to."

Nostrum pushed the unknown grass he had offered to Millea.

"That person is desperately looking for this."

Then he got up, smiled broadly, and disappeared as suddenly as he had come in.

Millea immediately went out to chase after him, but Nostram was nowhere to be found.

Eric, who had just returned, was surprised to see Millea outside and asked.

"Mother?"

"Eric!"

"Why are you here? What if someone finds out?"

"Eric, I guess I should go back."

"You're going back?"

Millea put her hand on her chest.

The person who worries her the most right now. The person who is keeping her feet here and not letting her leave.

It's none other than that.

It was Bridget.

"At the palace, I think Bridget needs me."

"Is Miss Bridget alive?"

"I guess so."

There was no time to even pack.

Millea immediately left the inn and caught a carriage.

***

Bridget forced Chloe into the carriage, who was crying and clinging to her in fear.

"Chloe, I can't take care of you right now."

"What do I do now? Sister, I'm so scared! Where is Josh, and where Is Mom? Where are you going to send me? Can't I just stay with you in the palace? What if the bad guys capture me and lock me up again?"

"That won't happen. Chloe, go to your mom."

"Mom?"

Neither Julian nor Milea had ever told her where Lauren was.

But there was nothing she couldn't figure out if she tried.

It was her own choice to ignore Lauren and not hear from her until now.

Bridget assigned Chloe a black knight and two knight escorts.

"Go to Mom."

"Sister!"

She struggled to ignore Chloe, who was clinging to the carriage window and calling her desperately.

Chloe wasn't at fault; she was just reckless.

This incident must have made her realize how harsh the world can be.

Bridget, who had been trying to find out where Lauren was because of Chloe, discovered that Millea had been secretly planting someone to look after her mother, disguised as Lauren's neighbor.

It was a device that helped people continue living, even if it wasn't a caring one, by checking on their life or death and occasionally sharing food or work.

So if Chloe went to Lauren, they could comfort each other and get along well.

Bridget was grateful to Millea.

Millea must have hated her family, but she did it for the sole purpose of keeping her peace of mind.

A person who appears cold, decisive, and thorough, but is actually more affectionate and warm than anyone eIse.

Millea was a mother to Bridget, just as she was to Julian.

She missed Millea so much at this moment.

The sediment without Millea still seemed empty.

She was afraid as she watched Julian, who still hadn't woken up.

In front of others, Bridget showed confidence and assured that Julian would definitely wake up, but as each day passed, she also became more and more afraid and burdened.

She couldn't figure out what to do.

It was when she saw off the carriage carrying Chloe and turned around to shed tears alone.

Bridget heard the sound of a carriage.

She sighed, wondering if Chloe had turned the carriage around because she wasn't listening.

"Chloe!"

When she wiped her tears, frowned, and turned around with a pretended angry face.

"Bridget!"

There was Millea.

"Uh?"

Bridget blinked blankly, wondering if she was dreaming.

Millea must be hiding somewhere far away, unreachable, unknown to anyone.

In fact, as soon as the situation was sorted out, she tried to find Millea, but she couldn't find her.

She thought that Julian must have hidden her away so that no one could find her.

Julian hadn't even woken up yet.

Bridget was giving up, thinking that maybe it would be better if Millea never came back, and that she shouldn't look for her until things were clear.

But now, Millea was in front of her.

"Bridget! Oh, Bridget!"

Millea got out of the carriage, approached with her characteristically neat gait, and grabbed her hand.

"Mileah! Is it really Milea? Oh, my God."

Only after holding Millea's hand did she realize that this was reality.

Only then did Millea notice her red eyes and open them wide.

The eyes. No way. The shadow curse.

Bridget hugged Millea.

"Later. I'll tell you everything a little later."

"I got the gist of it on my way here, but it seems there's still a lot I don't know. I'm sorry I'm so late, Bridget."

Millea hugged her and said.

Bridget shook her head.

"No. I missed you, Millea. I missed you so, so much."

Millea tried to tell her that Nostrum had given her something, that she had been puzzled when she first received it, but that she now understood what it was after hearing from Julian, and that she had a precious herb for him.

But Millea felt something strange coming from Bridget's body in her arms.

'What?'

She took her out of her arms for a moment.

"Bridget...?"

She made a strange expression as she wrapped her hand around her lower abdomen, where Millea's gaze was directed.

Millea exchanged a questioning look with Bridget, then sighed and hugged Bridget again.

"Oh, my God.”
