TBDNS - Chapter 84

Episode 84. Even the words “I love you” are not enough

Christine, who returned to the Marvel Palace, ordered the servants to pack their bags.

“I’m leaving for Loosewolf, so pack as simply as possible.”

“Yes, master.”

However, the expressions of Henry and the servants who were packing their bags were not bright.

“Just a moment, Chris.”

Adele noticed this and quietly called them into the living room.

“Do you have anything to say?”

“What’s going to happen to the servants?”

“What’s going to happen?”

“So you’re going to Loosewolf together...?”

“Of course, if they want it.”

“Thank goodness.”

Christine was rather dumbfounded.

“Then did you think I was going to fire them?”

“Just in case.”

Then Adele quickly turned around and opened the living room door.

Bam!

In that moment, she met the bewildered faces of the servants who had been listening in from outside the door.

They were all pretending to pack their bags and paying close attention to the conversation between the two.

“I was going to ask if you needed anything.”

Henry answered sarcastically.

“Doesn’t this situation seem a bit unreasonable?”

Christine furrowed his brows and gave him a suspicious look.

Adele quickly clapped her hands and interjected.

“Oh, I have some good news. The Count will take everyone he wants to, Loosewolf.”

At that, the servants who had been watching and trembling cheered in unison.

Christine, who had been watching with his arms crossed, was dumbfounded.

“You all have such strange personalities. What’s the point of following an eccentric master like me?”

Adele whispered softly.

“There are many eccentric masters, but few masters know that.”

“What?”

She clung to Christine’s waist, who was frowning, and smiled faintly.

“Of course, I love you no matter how eccentric you are.”

“Ha, is being eccentric really your true nature? Is loving really your true nature?”

“If you’re curious, I’ll tell you in bed tonight.”

Christine whispered, lowering his face as if to kiss her.

“Do we really have to wait until tonight? I can go to bed right now.”

It was when the two of them were clinging to each other and whispering awkwardly.

“Ahem!”

Zimmer, who had been standing in front of the reception room door for some time, coughed in vain with an embarrassed face.

“I... have something to tell you.”

“What’s going on?”

“It’s news from the Vatican that I just heard.”

Christine’s expression hardened at the mention of the Vatican. The Emperor wasn’t scary, but the Vatican was definitely annoying.

Did the news of this serial murder reach the Vatican?

“Adele, would you mind stepping out for a moment?”

“I think you should hear this story with Adele.”

Christine and Adele became tense at Zimmer’s firm words.

Zimmer looked back and forth between the two of them and said very seriously.

“The objection has been dismissed.”

Christine tilted his head as if he didn’t understand the words that cut off the beginning and the end.

Then Zimmer quickly changed his expression and smiled.

“Stone Oswald’s objection to Adele’s remarriage to the Vatican has been dismissed.”

“So that means... we can get married officially?”

Adele asked in disbelief, and Zimmer nodded with a grin.

“Yes! You can get married!”

***

That night.

Adele, having finished her bath, wrapped her wet hair in a towel and went out to the bedroom.

Christine was already in the bedroom. He was sitting on the windowsill, staring outside, wearing a loose linen shirt.

A warm spring breeze blew past, gently tossing his silver hair.

“What are you thinking about?”

Christine turned his head and smiled at Adele. He was holding a wine glass in his hand. His cheeks were slightly red, as if he had drunk it alone. He looked a little cute with his cheeks flushed.

“I was thinking about what to do tomorrow.”

“You quit the guard, right?”

“Preparing for our wedding.”

“Wasn’t the wedding supposed to be held at Russwolf?”

“What are you talking about? You want me to hold out until then?”

Adele felt a little dumbfounded as she watched him take a serious look. Of course, she had been looking forward to the wedding, but it wasn’t particularly different from now.

“Are you planning on getting married tomorrow?”

“If possible.”

He put down his wine glass and naturally unwrapped the towel wrapped around Adele’s head to wipe the moisture away. Since when had it been natural for him to dry Adele’s wet hair? He seemed to have become quite skilled at it, just like Tanya.

“I’m holding back on what I want to do right now. There won’t be a chapel where we can have the ceremony at this hour.”

“There might be one if we look around.”

Adele had said it as a joke, but he seemed to take it seriously.

“If you really want it, let’s find out.”

She laughed teasingly at Christine, who was so serious.

“I’m joking. Why are you in such a hurry? I’m already your wife.”

“I want you to be called Countess Weiss, not Miss Adele. My wife, who is acknowledged by everyone. I want that to happen as soon as possible.”

“Of course, that’s what I’ve been wishing for. But I also have a wedding that I’ve been longing for.”

“A wedding that you’ve been longing for?”

Adele smiled brightly as she looked out the dark window. As if she were looking at some distant place.

“Do you remember? The small church near Lake Garden. All the people in our town got married there. Mom and Uncle were planning to get married there too.”

“I remember.”

“In the spring, the cherry blossoms were white on the way to the church. In the summer, the roses were in full bloom on the fence...”

“Oh, it was a beautiful place, like a fairy tale.”

“More than anything, I loved the time when the bells rang throughout the town after the wedding. Then everyone would sincerely pray for the couple to be happy forever. This is what a wedding blessed by everyone looks like... I thought that.”

Christine hugged Adele’s slender waist from behind. He placed his chin on the top of her head and made a soft promise.

“Yes, as soon as we return to Russwolf, let’s get married at the church near Lake Garden. If we go back now, we’ll probably be able to get married before the cherry blossoms fall.”

His territory, Russwolf, was located at the northernmost part of Kalime, and the village where Adele and Christine lived was at the very end of Russwolf.

That’s why it was always the last to bloom. It was a small mining village that was almost neglected even within the territory. However, it was a more peaceful and happy village than anywhere else in Kalime.

“Thank you. For understanding.”

“I’ll do whatever you want.”

“Really?”

“Of course.”

“Then children too...?”

Christine paused at the word children.

Adele turned around to face him.

“If I become your official wife, we can have our children, right?”

“Adele...”

“Is there... any other reason why you can’t have children?”

Adele asked, observing Christine’s embarrassed expression.

In fact, she could guess why he didn’t want to have children. He hadn’t revealed his true identity yet.

Adele was half eager to hear his true identity, and half reluctant.

'If he revealed that he was the Silver Wolf, would I be able to accept it without any problems?'

Guessing and confirming were two different things.

Even if he didn't kill her mother, she was honestly scared. A different species.

"No. Let's talk about children after the wedding."

Adele eventually admitted that she wasn't ready to hear the truth.

"Adele, I didn't know you wanted children so much."

"It's not just that I want children, it's that you and I want children. Mia says that having a child will make you feel like a real family. But I'm okay with it the way it is now. I know that we love each other enough."

"I don't know."

Then Christine lowered his head and added sinisterly.

"I know for sure when I hold you, but I keep forgetting."

"W-what... Ouch!"

He quickly hugged Adele and sat her down on the windowsill. He snuggled close to her between her slender legs and smiled faintly.

"That's why, Adele, you're going to have to help me, who's stupid?"

Adele let out a groan of excitement without realizing it.

The wolf clan might have been monsters, or rather, demons. They had such terrifying power, but they could also steal people’s souls with such a seductive smile.

His large, soft hand secretly caressed her leg. Adele’s body reflexively heated up at the touch that was so familiar. The learned pleasure aroused a strange sense of anticipation. Her pride was hurt because she seemed to have become too easy a woman, but...

Chook. Chook...

When she saw Christine willingly kissing her feet, everything became irrelevant.

Because she knew that pride was useless to each other.

“Kiss me, Chris.”

She whispered while gently grabbing the back of his head, and as if he had been waiting, he kissed her passionately.

Adele’s hand naturally stroked his thick neck, unbuttoned his shirt, and caressed his firm skin.

Their mutual indulgence became as bold and hot as their heated breaths.

In an instant, he held Adele’s buttocks and hugged her.

Adele naturally wrapped her legs around his waist.

“You’re in big trouble now.”

He threatened her with a strange look, his eyes sparkling.

“What?”

“I’m not going to work tomorrow.”

“...Why is that...?”

“I can love you for days on end.”

“..!”

Before she could be surprised, Adele was already lying on the bed, trapped between his arms and knees.

“Chris... are you kidding me?”

“Does it seem like a joke?”

His eyes, looking down at Adele, felt more blazing than usual.

Adele, who had been quietly watching him, slowly stroked his cheek.

No one would know. The fact that Count Weiss, who was as cold as ice, could be so hot, passionate, and sometimes cute.

My man, whom only I know.

“How much can I handle you?”

Your secret.

Wouldn’t this heart waver even after confirming that?

Tak!

Christine flicked Adele’s forehead with his finger and laughed.

“I’m joking. Don’t make such a serious expression.”

Adele confessed with her green eyes filled with him.

“I love you, Chris.”

“Me too.”

A person who can’t even say that I love you.

My heart.

My everything.

I will probably acknowledge you someday. I don’t know when that will be.

***

The next morning.

Christine carefully brushed back Adele’s disheveled hair as she fell asleep in his arms.

Adele wrinkled her nose and snuggled into his arms, ticklish.

When she was young, she pretended to be an adult and called herself his older sister, but when she slept, she looked just like a baby.

Small and cute...

A baby... How much cuter would a baby that resembled her be?

Christine’s face hardened as he thought about this. If he wanted to have the baby she so desperately wanted, he would have to tell everyone. That he was from the wolf clan, that he had killed the previous Emperor with that ability, and that he had become a hero on the battlefield in return for slaughtering countless enemies. Would she really want to have his own child?? Would she not leave him?

Christine, lost in thought, got up from the bed.

‘It seems we have an unwelcome guest.’

She could hear the tense voices of those welcoming the Emperor from afar. As he approached the window, he saw Jan entering the Marvel Palace with his guards.

‘It must be quite urgent since you’ve come all the way here in person.’

***

When Christine went to the central reception room, Jan was waiting alone, leaving the people behind.

“Oh... I’m sorry, Your Majesty. I just woke up.”

Christine, who greeted the Emperor, was wearing a nightgown. He had no intention of treating Jan as his lord anymore. Jan frowned as if he had read his intentions, but did not show it.

“Even if I were the Emperor, it would be rude to come here suddenly without notice. But know this. I have not dismissed you yet.”

“I would like to refrain from obsessing.”

“I have good news and bad news.”

“The good news first.”

“The Vatican has rejected Stone’s objection. So you and Adele can officially get married.”

When Christine’s expression did not change after hearing those words, Jan felt a little embarrassed.

“I guess you already knew.”

“A little while ago.”

“Then did you hear the bad news too?”
