Episode 80. A Flower in Your Hair
It was when the carriage carrying Adele and Tanya left the Oswald mansion.
“Miss Adele!”
A loud voice called out, and Adele looked out the carriage window.
She saw a large man standing with his blond hair fluttering in the wind. It was Jennifer.
Behind him were several knights from the WG 1st Division that Adele was familiar with.
“Please stop for a moment.”
As Adele got out of the carriage, Jennifer and the knights approached on horseback.
“Are you okay? How did my lady get hurt like this?”
Jennifer jumped when she saw the wounds on Adele’s body.
“It’s a minor wound, so it’ll heal quickly. But what about here...?”
“I heard rumors that Miss Adele had been kidnapped, so I was waiting to storm in if necessary. But somehow the Captain sent a message to escort Miss Adele.”
“The Count?”
Christine had just left for the palace to report on the arrested criminal.
Zimmer approached with the guards.
“I also have to go into the palace right now.”
“Oh, I see. But you don’t have to escort me like this...”
Jennifer said that when Adele apologized.
“No. Miss Adele is my precious disciple. If Miss Adele had done something wrong, I, Oswald, would have been torn to pieces by my hands.”
Adele quickly laughed, seeing the murderous intent blooming in Jennifer’s eyes.
“Your heart is enough, Sir.”
“Thank you for understanding my heart.”
Hahaha, Jennifer laughed heartily and pounded his chest.
“Yes, then leave Miss Adele’s escort to me, and you, Zimmer, go!”
Zimmer whispered to Adele.
“You may look a little lacking, but you’ll be quite capable.”
“What! This flower-loving bastard!”
“Then please take good care of me!”
As Zimmer led the guards out on horseback, Jennifer also solemnly shouted to his men.
“Everyone, escort Miss Adele’s carriage. All troops in escort formation!”
“Engage in escort formation!”
At his loud command, the men of the unit surrounded Adele’s carriage in unison.
Adele shook her head and climbed back into the carriage.
“Who are they?”
Tanya, who had been waiting in the carriage with a curious look, asked.
“The knights who will escort us home.”
Tanya looked out the window and looked around, then smiled brightly.
“Then are they the famous White Ghost Knights?”
“Yes.”
“Wow! It’s like a dream. An escort from a knight order. Wow! I like it.”
“You like it that much?”
“Of course. It’s like being a Princess.”
Adele also smiled a little at the sight of Jennifer and the knights outside the window.
They looked a little strange, but they were reliable.
And the Oswalds, who had been so fearful, now seemed like nothing.
“Adele!”
When Adele arrived at the mansion where she had previously lived, Mia came out to greet her.
“Mia!”
“I came out in a hurry when I heard you were coming.”
“You must be tired. What are you doing?”
“It’s right next door. And Mark told me to exercise a lot. I’ve gained so much weight recently.”
Mia’s belly hadn’t popped out yet, but she had gained weight and looked quite pregnant.
“Welcome, Miss Adele.”
“Welcome, Miss.”
Soon, Henry and three or four servants came out of the mansion to greet her, hearing the sound of a carriage.
“What’s going on with everyone?”
When Adele looked puzzled, Henry said,
“The Count sent Miss Adele to stay here for a few days.”
“Thank you, Henry.”
“Then let’s go in and have dinner first. Would you like to eat with Mrs. Bonita?”
“Oh, then you were planning to send a pregnant woman away, starving?”
Then Jennifer, who was standing behind her, chimed in with a sarcastic cough.
“Ahem, now that I think about it, it’s already dinner time...”
Adele asked Henry quietly.
“Henry, would it be okay to eat together today?”
“All together?”
“Literally, all together at one table.”
“Including us?”
“Of course.”
“No. That would be impolite...”
“Sometimes, being unconventional is fun.”
“I’ll help too!”
Tanya rolled up her sleeves, and everyone shouted in unison.
“No! You rest!”
The meal that started early in the evening continued late into the night.
Everyone prepared the meal together.
The table in the dining room was moved to the middle of the living room, and since there wasn’t enough space, the Knights quickly made a makeshift table and chairs.
Adele used the curtains she had washed well to spread the tablecloth, and Mia brought flowers from home to decorate it. Henry put candles on the coasters instead of the candlesticks that were lacking.
Meanwhile, food came out one by one from the kitchen. Since it was a sudden party, there were no special dishes, but everyone was satisfied, eating and talking without thinking. They were so intoxicated by the atmosphere that they laughed loudly and happily whenever someone said something.
“Are you okay? If you’re tired, go inside and rest.”
Even in the midst of all this, Adele was worried about Tanya.
However, Tanya shook her head and whispered softly.
“I’m really happy right now. This is the first time I’ve had such a noisy and fun meal.”
Tanya’s face, slightly recalled, looked really happy. As if she had forgotten all the terrible memories of today.
Maybe it was a good thing. Maybe this noisy and fun atmosphere could cover up her terrifying memories.
“Yeah, now that I think about it, it’s been a while.”
When Adele’s mother was alive, there were occasional gatherings like this. On days when there was a village festival, everyone would gather, laugh, and chatter loudly. When the adults were excited, the children would naturally become excited as well.
Adele was sad that Christine wasn’t there.
The meal that started early in the evening continued late into the night, naturally turning into a drinking party. Thinking of Tanya, who was locked in a wine barrel, the alcohol was beer instead of wine.
Mia clinked her glass with fruit juice in regret.
“Wow, whoa!”
Christine stopped talking as she returned to Adele’s mansion late at night.
He wondered if this noise was really coming from Adele’s house.
At first, he was nervous, wondering what was going on. But soon he realized that it was mostly laughter, and he started to feel a little irritated.
“What’s wrong, boss?”
Asked Zimmer, who was following behind.
“It looks like they’re having a party without us.”
“Huh? Tanya must still be sick...”
Before Zimmer could finish speaking, Christine was already galloping away.
As expected, Adele’s house was brightly lit even in the middle of the night. And the laughter could be heard beyond the fence.
“Ha, really!”
Zimmer also felt a little betrayed. On the other hand, his body was itching to blend in with the atmosphere.
“Should I go and cause trouble?”
“That sounds like a good idea.”
The two men opened the door to the mansion with villainous smiles and went in.
Boom!
Christine, who had opened the door fiercely and entered, had an extremely scary expression on his face. He was quite annoyed that they were enjoying this fun party without him.
But his fierce expression that made even his enemies tremble was useless.
“Chris! Whoa, it’s Chris!”
The situation ended with Adele staggering and jumping into his arms.
Jennifer followed behind her like an angry boar, stomping.
“Don’t run away, Miss Adele! Punishment is punishment!”
“Punishment?”
When Christine furrowed his brows and glared at Jennifer, Adele snarled in a childish voice.
“Chris, Jenny keeps trying to get me to drink. You'll scold her! Bad!”
Adele’s voice sounded like she was blind and her tongue was cut in half. As Christine’s expression grew more menacing, Jennifer quickly made an excuse.
“It wasn’t me, it was Henry, that old man! We played a game, and Miss Adele kept drinking penalty drinks. What kind of old man is that good at games?”
“You’re flattering me.”
Henry bowed his head politely as usual. But Christine almost burst out laughing when he saw Henry.
“Henry, that’s on your head...”
Mia quickly interjected.
“It’s a penalty. If Adele loses, she drinks, and if Henry loses, he wears a flower in her hair.”
That’s right. Henry, who was always polite and dignified, had two flowers on either side of his head.
In return, Adele must have drunk the penalty drink to get drunk.
Wanting to avenge Adele, Christine took off his outerwear and rolled up his sleeves.
“I don’t know what kind of game it is, but this time, let’s play with me.”
However, Henry, who had flowers on both sides of his head, declined with his usual dignified and firm declining attitude.
“I’m sorry, but I have time to go to bed now, so I’ll take care of it then.”
He bowed politely and stepped aside.
“Henry, Henry! Don’t run away! What are you doing!”
Adele, who had been chasing him while sobbing, eventually collapsed with a face as if her world had collapsed.
“Chris... ugh!”
Adele stared at him with tears welling up in her eyes. She looked just like a heartbroken heroine.
Christine couldn’t get angry at Adele’s appearance. Besides... She was so cute with her blushing face and sobbing, drunk that he almost burst into laughter.
“Ahem, now go to sleep. The others should hurry up and get things sorted out, too.”
It was when the carriage carrying Adele and Tanya left the Oswald mansion.
“Miss Adele!”
A loud voice called out, and Adele looked out the carriage window.

He barely managed to control his expression and spoke solemnly.
However, Adele staggered back up and pleaded with Christine.
“Chris... ugh, I can’t sleep until I put all these flowers in Henry’s hair today. Henry... Henry... come back.”
Everyone clutched their stomachs as they watched Adele staggering after Henry.
At first glance, there seemed to be five or six flowers in his hand.
In the end, Christine decided to clean up this mess.
“Play with me, Adele.”
“Huh?”
“I don’t know what kind of game it is, but play with me. Instead, you bet all the flowers at once. If you lose, you go in quietly and sleep. Call?”
Adele’s expression brightened.
“If you lose, will you wear all these flowers on your head?”
“Of course.”
“You’ll regret it, right?”
Christine had never lost a match, whether it was a game or anything else.
“You’ll be the one who regrets it.”
“Yes, Call.”
Everyone’s eyes sparkled at the match of the century. Even Henry, who had gone to sleep, quietly came out.
“So what’s the game?”
Everyone shouted in unison at Christine’s question.
“The high-pitched game!”
“What’s that?”
Zimmer explained briefly from the side.
“You take turns singing in increasingly higher pitches.”
Christine’s expression hardened at the word ‘singing.’
“But didn’t you say that Henry beat Adele?”
Henry, who had joined the crowd, answered,
“I’m still a tenor in the choir.”
The only thing Christine, who was perfect in everything, lacked was musical ability. To put it simply, he was tone-deaf. Seriously so!
“Chris, let’s do it! Let’s do it!”
In this situation, when Adele’s eyes sparkled with competitive spirit, Christine broke out in a cold sweat.
Singing in front of all these people, especially these many servants and hia knights?
It was certain that his dignity and dignified image as a master that he had built up until now would be severely damaged.
“Oh, by the way, I forgot to report to His Majesty...”
As he was about to turn around,
“If it’s an urgent report, I’ll go, Master.”
Zimmer, you damned punk!
“Hey, are you running away like a coward?”
Even that clueless Jennifer!
In the end, Christine...
“I’ll just give in, Adele.”
Rather than being exposed as tone-deaf and having flowers on his head, it would be better to admit defeat and die a heroic death.
“You’re giving up?”
“I can’t beat you, Adele, anyway. Because I love you.”
When Christine looked at her with such affection that it was almost touching, boos erupted here and there.
“Hey, Captain! This isn’t right!”
“Count, you’re not tone-deaf?”
But Adele, who was in question, burst into tears,
“Ugh! Chris!”
And hugged Christine tightly.
“Me too. How could I fight you? I was wrong, Chris. Ugh, forgive me.”
Everyone was dumbfounded by this absurd development, but Adele, who was drunk, sobbed with emotion.
Phew.
Christine barely managed to calm Adele down.
“Then shall we go and sleep, Adele?”
“Yes, Chris!”
When Christine quickly carried Adele up to the second floor, those who had been looking forward to the fun licked their lips in disappointment.
Then, out of the blue, they exchanged strange glances.
“Um... I think it would be better to move the second round to our house, right?”
Everyone agreed to Mia’s sensible suggestion.
Of course, Jennifer was the only exception.
“Oh, the atmosphere is nice, but why? What is it, what is it!”
However, Adele staggered back up and pleaded with Christine.
