PLEMF - Chapter 7

"Chee..."

As Shion pouted his lips, a round woman appeared from the end of the hallway.

"Master Shion. If the moon is high and you don't sleep, monsters from beyond the north wall will appear and bite you, right?"

The warm-looking woman was a nanny at first glance.

Judging from her age, she may have raised all of Halias' grown sons.

The nanny made eye contact with me and smiled.

"Suzy was excited, and it was true that the little lady of the Meridy family had arrived. Anyway. It's time to go to bed."

Theodore quickly cleared things up.

"Dorian, can I ask you for a baby guest? This one will need a nanny's hand more than Shion."

The nanny, called Dorian, nodded.

"Then the little lady, would you like to sleep with the nanny of the castle of Halias today? This Dorian has an incredibly Interesting story. Here, both cheeks are full."

Dorian held her breath and puffed up her cheeks.

The nanny's face was full of a sincere smile.

It's definitely less scary than the Haliases.

As I stepped into her warm embrace, I finally relaxed.

Suddenly, I fell asleep tremendously.

Even if I dozed off on the horse the whole way, it was a very difficult few days for my small three-year-old body.

***

Tick.

I woke up to the loud sound of horses' hooves.

I could see the strange ceiling, the red walls, and Dorian's soft chestnut eyes.

"Did you sleep well, Meridy's pretty baby?"

I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and quickly removed them.

Yesterday, I was so sleepy that I couldn't think of anything, but when I woke up, I felt embarrassed.

He greeted me in a small voice.

"Hello, Dorian."

Phew, but my tongue is a little less twisted today.

"You could have slept longer, but you woke up because it was noisy, didn't you? I think the great master has returned."

When I heard the word "great master," the rest of my sleep ran away.

Caliph Halias was an assistant to Alseid at the end of my previous life.

'There is no way that cold-blooded baby would welcome a baby who only eats bread!'

When that calculating man sees Meridy's Princess, he will be more anxious to chase her away than his father.

Dorian looked at my tense face and smiled.

"I think we can say hello at breakfast. If you're awake, can I help you get ready?"

Outside the window, a blizzard swirled as Theodore had expected.

'Do the Haliases ride horses in this weather?'

I nodded, and Dorian helped me get out of bed.

Last night, Alseid only overlooked my small existence.

I have to stay in this castle unattended until Theodore keeps his promise to take me home.

Dorian washed my face and then unfolded a small piece of clothing.

"I'm sorry. The clothes you wore must not have dried yet, and you had never been born in Halias Castle. But Master Shion's clothes are better than the clothes of the lower ones."

It was boys' clothes, but Dorian's sorry face was rather awkward to me.

In my previous life, I wore more boys' clothes than girls' clothes.

"Thank you, Dorian."

Dorian's eyes widened a little, as if surprised.

"Oh my God, you're also nice. You're Cecilia's daughter."

"Is it Tedili?"

I asked, my eyes wide, and Dorian smiled.

"Mr Baby's mother. I was honored to have that opportunity. A chance to meet the continent's greatest pyromancer. Cecilia Le Meridy. And now, I'm happy to be able to adorn her daughter like this."

Cecilia Le Meridy.

That was my mother's name.

'Woo! Mom Was the Best Pyromancer on the Continent...'

In my previous life, I didn't know that I had lived for 19 years, so I was both crying and angry.

Dorian immediately misunderstood my dazed face.

"Oh, I must have made a mistake. The Princess will be fine. You can go see your mother again. That's right."

I smiled faintly at Dorian.

Yes, it would be great if I could.

***

Dorian took me to the dinner table.

I sat next to Shion at a large octagonal table with the terrifying white falcon crest of the dreaded Halias.

Even after Theodore sat next to Shon, two seats were empty.

One is Alseid, and the other is Caliph's seat.

When footsteps rang out again in the hallway, I couldn't help but feel nervous.

Whoever appears now won't be on my side.

Theodore saw his face at the banquet and stood up.

"Brother."

Caliph Halias nodded Indifferently, tired and disgruntled.

Shion also stood up and greeted him.

"Big brother... When did you come back?"

Caliph replied simply.

"Last night."

Didn't you come in the morning?

I was sitting alone in a high chair, unable to get up from my seat.

Caliph sat down at the table and pointed at me with his chin.

"You said you picked it up new."

Oh my God, that damn Caliph has no twist.

He was so unlucky in my previous life, and it looks the same when he goes back 16 years.

Theodore protested.

"Brother. I didn't pick it up..."

Caliph interrupted sharply.

"Four days ago, there was a fire in Meridy Castle."

Everyone, including me, swallowed under their breath, and Theodore asked.

"...Yes? Is that true?"

"The scout hawk came with a half-burned Meridy heraldic with it."

When I saw the piece of red cloth that Caliph was taking out of the table, my heart tightened and tears welled up in my eyes.

Meridy's sentence is correct.

Eventually, the fire grew to the point where the crest outside the castle burned down...

"And here is the one and only Princess of Meridy. Theodore, how do you see it?"

Oh, is that how it goes?

Theodore pursed his lips in embarrassment.

"I... No, even if you had been there, you would have made the same choice. A little baby crawled on the dirt and screamed for help."

"Who saw that?"

"That's right, my minions..."

"Having four servants, the second son of Halias, the youngest sword master on the continent, missed the nameless kidnapper, who was a single man? I will go to the royal palace and testify to that. You must be very reliable."

"Don't be sarcastic, bro. He was a master-level player."

Theodore protested, but Caliph continued to taunt him.

"Unfortunately, no one has seen it."

I couldn't just mourn the misfortune of Meridy Castle.

I swallowed my tears and Interjected.

"See, the one who saw."

Calipj raised one eyebrow without replying.

He looked a little surprised, as if I didn't know how to speak.

"It's me. I'm busy, And..."

I don't know yet whether Theodore Halias will be my enemy or not.

However, I hope that his goodwill did not become a shackle and bind him.

"I no his nem. (I know his name.)"

***

After a familiar silence, Caliph's eyes fell.

Shion quickly intervened.

"Hey, I know your name, brother. Liana knows his name."

"Name? The kidnapper's name?"

Caliph looked at me in surprise and asked.

I nodded and answered.

"Odipa Tidal."

Caliph frowned.

"What?"

This time, even Shion didn't understand, so he moved closer to me.

"Liana, tell me, what's his name?"

"E. Di. Pa, C-..."

I pronounced each character clearly and ran into difficulty.

Damn Seashell.

'Why is this kid so named?'

Shion, the genius of Halias, understood some of my words.

"Edipa? Is his name Edipa?"

I nodded and pronounced Edipa's name again.

"On the Sea of Oedipus."

"Sidel?"

I shook my head vigorously and pronounced it again.

"T... Dell."

"Tidel?"

I was stunned and dropped my shoulders.

'Can I write?'

I think it would be better than words if I drew it somehow.

"Uh, pen-always do."

"What?"

"Pen."

Shion narrowed his eyes.

"Quills?"

Caliph sighed in annoyance.

"What is this..."

Shion looked at Caliph to see if he was scared, and whispered a little.

"You know how to read? No, let's say you know how to read. Can you use it already? I've only been practicing writing since I was four years old."

I repeated.

"Pen, please. (Quill, please.)"

My right hand trembled as I held the quill.

'Nonsense.'

I have to do this.

I looked at the nib that kept straying and grabbed my right wrist with my small left hand.

When I finally drew a letter, Shion frowned and asked,

"Poetry? Did you write 'poem'?"

I nodded happily and started writing the next letter.

'Sichel, even in your name.'
