WYMYEB - Chapter 75

I thought they were just selling kittens and cats.

It was not the dog or the cat that was confined in the narrow cage made of iron.

What is trapped in it...

"Monsters?"

I muttered in surprise, and then Kishian replied from the side.

"It looks like a monster cub."

I glanced at him, and his face was cold.

He had fought to protect people from the threat of monsters.

However, the monster was captured and sold here.

Of course, there were only small specimens on sale that didn't look dangerous, but even so, he seemed quite shocked.

"What are you selling? Aren't these monsters?"

A middle-aged man who seemed to be the owner of a street vendor smirked and replied.

"The monster is right, Sir. They were picked up from a deserted forest, and they were all gentle and cute. Can I get you one?"

The shopkeeper didn't seem to recognize Kishian's face.

They didn't even try to hide the monsters, but only focused on sales.

"You don't have to be scared just because it's a monster. How gentle these things are. Even if it's all grown up, it's the size of a cat..."

"You're Insane. I will kill them all."

"Yes?"

Ignoring the shopkeeper who asked in bewilderment, Kishian called out loudly.

"Walter!"

Walter, who had been following nearby, appeared in an instant.

He appeared with his escorts, and Kishian gave him a firm order.

"Kill them all."

"Yes, Your Highness."

The shopkeeper, who recognized Kishian then, began to hang on with a desperate face.

"Your Highness! No! These are not dangerous monsters! It is not good to keep it as a pet..."

"Shut up."

Clutching the neck of the shopkeeper who was clinging to him, Kishian replied in a voice that was even colder and firmer than before.

"There are no monsters that aren't dangerous."

The shopkeeper couldn't open his mouth anymore because of the intimidation he was feeling.

While the owner was shivering with a blue face, Walter and the other escorts retrieved the monsters from the street vendors.

I don't know where they got it, but there were quite a lot of monsters trapped in the cage.

After recovering all fifteen baby monsters and arresting the shopkeeper, Kishian looked in my direction.

"I'm sorry. We came out to enjoy it, but suddenly this happened..."

"It's not your fault. I never imagined that they were selling monsters. I think it's better to get out of this place first."

Hearing the commotion, people gathered around the street vendors and us, huddling in a circle.

If there is more crowding, it will be difficult to get out.

Kishian left Walter to take care of the mess, then wrapped me in his arms and began to make his way through the crowd.

Several people bumped into me, but I was able to get out safely thanks to his strong arm protection.

"I just wanted to leave you with pleasant memories..."

Kishian muttered, regretting that something unexpected had broken the mood.

I wanted to leave him with only good memories, so I hurriedly pointed in a different direction.

"Walter will take care of it, so stop thinking about it and go over there. It's like performing something."

A large platform was set up where I pointed out.

Above them, people dressed up in colorful costumes were performing a play.

Judging from the fact that the audience was watching with bated breath, it seemed to be quite an interesting play.

We tried to erase what had just happened from our minds and went over to watch the play.

The woman on the stage recited the line.

"I believe in your love. But I also know that love has an end. As long as your mission binds you, we will part ways someday. I know that the affection that is burning now will eventually crumble, leaving only ashes behind."

"How can I prove that it will last forever?"

When I heard the actor's lines, I thought it was a simple romance drama.

It wasn't until I listened to the actress's lines that I realized that this was a story I had already heard.

"Please bring me the golden Lissenblume. Please bring back the flower that the goddess cherishes the most, and that you have worked hard to protect all your life. Then I will not doubt the immortality of love..."

It was a play about the legend of Lissenblume.

The story is about Lian, the guardian of the goddess garden, who falls in love with the fairy and steals the flower and offers it to her.

The actress was beautiful by all accounts, and the actor's performance was mesmerizing.

So it seemed like a beautiful story.

Even though he knows the tragedy that will happen because of their love, he will support Lian.

However, this did not change the ending of the play.

Lian sacrificed his life to pick the flowers and offer them to the fairies.

The two enjoyed a brief love for a moment
The fairy, who had said that Lian's love would not last forever, came to believe in its immortality after his devotion.

He believed that it was true and that he would stay by his side even after Lian's breath was gone.

And the two met their predestined ending.

The fairy who incurred the wrath of the gods was annihilated, and Lian was cursed endlessly.

A terrible, terrible curse that runs down my veins.

"Atonement for doubting love. Repent of the sins you committed because you were blinded by love. At the end of the true atonement, the light of salvation will come down again..."

The play ended with solemn lines.

As I watched the actors bow their heads while listening to the clapping, I told Kishian in a quiet voice.

"It's a tragic story."

"Is that so? But I don't think it's a complete tragedy."

The fairy died, and Lian, the guardian, was cursed.

This is not a tragedy. With a puzzled look, Kishian shrugged his shoulders and replied.

"Didn't God just say that? When the Atonement is over, the light of salvation will fall."

"Oh."

"Salvation may come down to them someday... Isn't it an open ending?"

From what I heard, it didn't seem to be a tragedy.

As Kishian said, it is close to an open ending.

He continued.

"And I think there is a lesson in it."

"A lesson?"

"You have to believe in love."

Lian was punished for his crimes because of the fairy's distrust.

"If she had believed from the beginning that love would never change, the story might have ended with a perfect happy ending."

"It's not that I don't understand the position of fairies. I would have liked Lian to give her faith. That way, she will be able to love him more fully without fear of abandonment."

"It's not that I don't understand...."

As if choosing something to say, the Kishian cut it down.

After the performance, I waited for his remarks to continue in the crowd of people who were slowly dispersing.

The light was dimming little by little, but I could clearly see the golden gaze on me.

"I want you to believe me. Even if I confess my love someday."

"..."

"Will you believe it?"

It's better to say that I believe it, even if it's just empty words. If only for our relationship.

But at that moment, I couldn't say yes.

For some people, it may not be so difficult to trust a partner, but not for me.

Of course, I had affection for him.

Maybe it's love.

But apart from loving him...

"I'll try."

It took time and effort to fully trust him.

It was also difficult to believe in it because I had never been loved.

Our relationship wasn't smooth enough to build trust.

"Is that so?"

As if he knew so, Kishian smiled bitterly.

Looking at that smile, one side of my heart went numb, and I turned my head.

I felt sorry for him, and at the same time, I felt sorry for myself.

Others trust each other casually and love each other with all their might, but I can't even do those easy things.

He pulled my body into his arms as if to soothe me, who was a little depressed.

My slightly cold body slowly melted inside.

"Let's go back now. I think it's getting colder."

"Yes, I've seen enough, so let's go. Oh, I have something for you before that..."

I was rummaging through my arms to give him a souvenir before I left.

"Help! Please, please, someone...!"

I heard a scream. It was not far away.

I was about to pull out a souvenir for Kishian, but I stopped moving.

Did someone meet a robber? Or did a person fall?

I took half a step toward the scream, and Kishian pulled me back into his arms.

"It's dangerous. Here it is. I'll take a look at it."

"No. Let's go together. There are still a lot of people, so it will be difficult to see them again."

Kishian seemed to be worried, then nodded and led me in the direction of the scream.

There was already a crowd of onlookers.

I could hear them muttering confusedly.

"What's going on?"

"Hey, a girl suddenly collapsed and had a seizure?"

"Do you have a disease? But isn't that kid's eyes a little strange?"

Strange eyes? I quickened my pace with a thought that came to my mind.

As I walked through the crowd and entered the center, I saw a child who had collapsed.
