IWAEBS - Chapter 132 < The Sin of Taking the Wrong Way >

“That’s not it. I drank the healing water and am almost on my way.”

Raphael glanced at the wizard Big, who was bowing his head, and said to Bellos.

“This is how it is after drinking the healing water?”

Then, it meant that his face was very swollen before drinking the healing water.

When Bellos glared at Raphael with a look demanding an explanation, the silent wizard Big quietly opened his mouth.

“I made a mistake...”

“What on earth did you do wrong that His Majesty made you look so wronged that you have a bruise on your face?”

Bellos openly expressed his antipathy toward Linel’s violence.

“I thought he was a merciful person, but it turns out...”

A bad-tempered scum.

Bellos, who skipped the rest of the story, inwardly cursed the Emperor’s cruelty.

He once again vowed to himself that he would quickly bring his companion away from that cruel man.

“Are you going to tell me? Or should I?”

Raphael asked Wizard Big.

“I, I will tell you.”

Wizard Big began to tell the truth with his own mouth.

Big started by telling Zelda that the magic potion she was taking had been mixed with birth control pills on the orders of Prince Tesla.

When Bellos first heard that, he thought it was a good thing.

He never wanted his partner to have a child with the government.

However, Bellos’s eyes turned cold when he immediately followed up with the story.

“Is it true? That drug... wasn’t a regular birth control pill?”

“Yes, Master... As I told His Majesty, I thought it was just that when I heard that Prince Tesla wouldn’t use half of the magic potion. I didn’t even know that the person who was going to give it to Her Majesty the Empress... Ouch!”

Bellos punched Wizard Big in the face.

It was the exact same spot where Linel had hit him.

Wizard Big fell backwards and groaned.

The pain doubled because he was hit again in the same spot.

Bellos mercilessly trampled his last disciple, whom he had not seen in a long time.

“Take it easy. Since His Majesty has already stepped on him so many times, if you are not careful, you could really break a spot.”

Raphael watched Bellos kick in anger, then stopped him dryly.

However, Bellos’s anger did not go away easily.

“You punk, don’t go around telling me you are my disciple! How dare I teach you purification magic with someone like you!”

Wizard Big could not understand why Bellos was so angry, even after being beaten up by his master.

It was natural for the Emperor to be angry because it was about his wife, but why was his master, whom he had not seen in a long time, so angry?

“Y-please forgive me, Master!”

Wizard Big begged Bellos with all his might.

“You idiot. Who do you think you dared do that to? What? The drug that prevents pregnancy?”

“M-Master, please not that place, ugh!”

When Bellos tried to step on the center of the wizard Big with his foot, Big desperately blocked it with both hands.

At that time, Stiane came down to the basement and whispered something to Raphael.

Raphael made a troubled expression and approached Bellos.

“Lord of the Tower, I think there was a mistake with the items I was going to bring to the hunting competition, so I think I should go up first to check. Would you like to go up with me now? Or would you like to step on the wizard Big a little more?”

“I’ll step on it a little more and go up.”

“Yes, please do so. Then, in a moment, the chamberlain Stiane will take you to the VIP room instead of me.”

“It seems like the conversation with my old disciple will be long, so the chamberlain should go up with the secretary. I know the way up, so don’t worry.”

Bellos looked down at the wizard Big, who had fallen to the ground, and said to Raphael.

Raphael and Stiane exchanged glances and then explained the way out to Bellos again.

“I’ll go to the VIP room where you are staying to get the key in three hours.”

Raphael handed the VIP room key to Bellos's hand.

"Yes."

"Then let's go up first."

As Raphael and Stiane exited the underground space, Bellos sat the wizard Big back down in the chair.

The groaning sounds of wizard Big, who had been repeating 'Oh my, I'm dying' just a moment ago, disappeared, and only the wheezing breathing could be heard.

"Sit down properly. I have something to ask you about the condition of my companion... no, Her Majesty the Empress."

Bellos tapped wizard Big's arm, and his heavy body fell forward again.

"...He fainted."

It seemed that the conversation with his disciple, whom he had not seen in 25 years, would have to be postponed until tomorrow.

***

After meeting the Magic Tower Lord with Linel and returning, I arrived at the hallway where the office floor was.

“Go ahead, I’m sorry for taking up too much of your time.”

I waved at him.

“Don’t say sorry, say thank you. That’s better.”

“Thank you is a given.”

“Your Majesty, I’ll stop by the office for a moment.”

He said, taking my shaking hand.

“Why? Do you have something to say?”

“I think we need to talk.”

He glanced at the servants behind us and said solemnly.

“Yes... I see.”

As I walked with him to the office, I recalled the conversation I had had in the Magic Tower Lord's room, wondering if there was anything I had done wrong.

We mostly talked about my cure, but there was nothing I could really talk about with him.

So what was the matter?

I tried to gauge his mood as Linel’s pace got faster and faster, but I couldn’t figure it out at all.

As I entered the office and walked to the sofa, he called me over.

“Not there. This way.”

He gestured toward the lounge door.

Why are you trying to go into the lounge to have a conversation?

After all, it’s just the two of us in the office.

He had already opened the lounge door and gone in.

When I followed him in, Linel was sitting at the desk waiting for me.

“Is it important? Oh my!”

As soon as I stood in front of Linel, he turned around and immediately sat me down at the desk.

“Let’s talk for a moment and then go.”

Linel buried his face in the nape of my neck and kissed my collarbone.

***

After throwing the unconscious Big onto the bed, Bellos walked down the underground hallway.

“What? There were two passages instead of one?”

There was another passage in the underground hallway that he hadn’t seen when he first came down here.

“Ah, that’s why the secretary’s explanation was so long.”

Bellos couldn’t hear Raphael talking about the passages because he was so angry at the wizard Big.

There was only one exit anyway, so he wondered why he was talking so long.

There were two arched entrances side by side on one wall.

After a moment of hesitation, Bellos chose the first entrance.

However, as he climbed the stairs, he realized that it wasn’t the same path he had taken when he first came down.

As he was about to go back down, he looked up and saw the end of the stairs.

“It seems like the floor is different.”

Judging from the height he had climbed, it was about the second floor.

Bellos thought that since he had already come this far, he should go out there.

He wondered where that entrance led.

In addition, light was leaking out from one side of the gray wall at the end of the stairs, and he could hear a familiar voice.

“Oh, what’s wrong? You seem to act strange whenever you enter the lounge.”

It was the voice of his companion, Zelda, who seemed extremely embarrassed.

Bellos’s footsteps as he climbed the stairs quickened.

***

“Linel, wait a minute...”

I couldn’t stand the tickling sensation and twisted my body to the side.

“Yeah, strangely, whenever I enter the lounge with the Empress, I feel like talking to her.”

“This isn’t a conversation.”

“Why not? Even physical conversation is a conversation.”

He started a physical conversation right away with our lips touching, so I couldn’t refute his words.

There was no reason to refute him.

However, I laughed for no reason.

“The previous Emperors didn’t make a break room in the office for this reason, did they?”

“That’s what they did.”

“Hey, no way. A break room is where you should take a break from your work. Why do you keep...?”

“I told you. I’m taking a break when I’m with you.”

Linel whispered, pulling up the hem of my dress skirt to my knees.

When I saw his moist eyes, I couldn’t refuse his lips that were approaching me.

The conversation we shared as our lips met was extremely intense.

Before I knew it, my two arms pulled his waist tightly.

“Zelda, just now... I was so excited that I forgot where I should start taking off my clothes.”

I was completely immersed in his blue eyes that were brimming with desire.

“Starting from here.”

When I said that while nodding at his jacket, he said, "Yes, yes, that's right, that's what I was thinking," and threw his jacket away in a hurry. My lips became more urgent at that sight, and I kissed him.

Then, the power of reason came over me again, and I pushed his lips away.

“It’s better to stop here. What if someone comes in?”

I grabbed his hand that was already on his trouser buckle and stopped his movements.

“What kind of crazy guy came in without the Emperor’s permission?”

Linel tried to move his hands again, saying it was okay, but I stopped him again.

“But there could be such a crazy guy... Aww, look, there he is! Surprise!”

I was startled when I saw a man suddenly appearing from behind the tapestry behind the bookshelf and clung to Linel, who was standing in front of me.

Even if no crazy guys were coming in without permission, some ghosts suddenly jumped out of the walls.

Linel also looked back and was shocked.

“What, what!”

“W-We took the wrong path...”

The one who pulled away the tapestry and revealed himself was not a ghost, but the Magic Tower Lord.

Are you a magician who can just walk through walls?

No, even so, is it okay for you to be rude and walk through any wall like this while staying in another country’s palace?

However, the person who was most flustered in this situation was the Magic Tower Lord.

The Magic Tower Lord's expression was beyond bewilderment; it was shock.

“The Magic Tower Lord, choose. Go back the way you came and go through the other entrance, or go out through that break room door.”

“I’ll go out that way.”

The Magic Tower Lord immediately answered Linel’s suggestion.

“I can’t see you off because of the situation, so you should look after yourself.”

Oh, I’m still hanging on, damn it.

Linel supported my butt, which was hanging on to him like a sloth, and apologized to the Magic Tower Lord.

“...Excuse me.”

The Magic Tower Lord looked me and Linel up and down in a voice that sounded like he was about to cry, then kicked open the break room door and left. As soon as the Magic Tower Lord left the break room, I burst into laughter.

Why are you there?

How did you come out of there?

I opened my eyes wide and stared at the tapestry that the Magic Tower Lord had revealed.

“Raphael, you bastard, it looks like you left without closing it properly yesterday.”

Linel held me in his arms and walked toward the tapestry behind the bookshelf.

He put his hand behind the tapestry depicting the Northern Mountains and pressed something, and the wall slammed shut with a slam.

“What’s behind this wall?!”

I asked, breaking away from his hanging body and lifting the tapestry.

It looked like an ordinary wall to my eyes.

“A passage leading to the main palace’s basement.”

Basement?

“But why is the Magic Tower Master here?”

“I put the wizard Big in the basement. It seems like the way up is from there, but he got the passage mixed up.”

“Is there another passage down to the basement besides this one?”

“There’s another one. The room at the end of the hallway on the VIP floor. Raphael took the Magic Tower Master there earlier.”

“Ah... but why did he come up this way when he came up? Judging by his expression, it looked like he didn’t know where he was either.”

“That’s right. Why did Raphael come up alone?”

He chuckled and leaned back against the bookshelf as he caressed my cheek.

“Did you go down to the basement yesterday?”

I asked, fiddling with the wall behind the tapestry.

“Yeah, I just saw that wizard Big. I think Raphael forgot to close the passage. Thanks to that, the Magic Tower Lord realized how good our gold thread is.”

“Haa, what an embarrassment...”

I glanced at the lounge door and thumped Linel’s chest with my fist.

“It hurts. Hit me gently.”

He laughed and complained of the pain.

“Je won’t spread rumors, right?”

“No one here knows, so what? If he tells, he’ll probably just tell his disciple.”

Linel shrugged his shoulders as if he didn’t care at all.

“How will you look at the Magic Tower Lord's face from now on? We’ll be together the entire hunting season.”

“Did we sin? We’re a married couple.”

“Still.”

“It’s his fault for taking the wrong path. And you’re all dressed up like this, so what’s embarrassing?”

“My posture was embarrassing, right?”

“Oh, right. It must have looked like that when you were hanging there. I thought you were a magnet.”

Linel burst out laughing and spread his arms, telling me to try hanging again.

“Come on, Linel, try it. How hard is it to hang?”

I said, also spreading my arms for him.

In fact, even if he really did hang on to me, I was confident I could easily support his butt with both hands.

“Don’t mess with me.”

Linel tapped my cheek with his index finger, put me on one shoulder, and walked to the desk.
