CSYWTF - Chapter 66

Episode 66. First Ball

I burst out laughing when I saw the fans in their hands speeding up at the same time.

'Why not?'

Prince Kydel, who had just entered, looked especially sleek and dazzling today.

If someone saw him, they would think it was his birthday.

Judging by the reactions of the young ladies, I could tell that my evaluation was malicious, but what could I do if my heart was like that?

He gave me a quick glance as he walked to His Highness Grayon's seat. I nodded in surprise.

And a moment later, I greeted the guest.

"What are you doing?"

When the Count bowed to Her Highness, the Princess, she nodded for me to talk to the Count.

I awkwardly walked out to one side with the Count. He stared at the servant medal on my chest and made a subtle expression.

"Count..."

What the. Why wouldn't my mouth open?

I should have just said, 'I'm eating well and living well, but how have you been, Count?'

The Count said with a gentle face,

“You look good, Lorisha.”

“Is that so? The Count looks good, too. You always look good.”

I glanced over the Count’s shoulder. There, the Countess and Misha, who had just finished greeting Her Highness the Princess, were looking at me.

The first thing I saw was the Countess’s jealous gaze.

She was the one who sent me to this place, but she still felt sorry for the medal on my chest.

Misha’s gaze was just as fierce. She still believed that I had taken it from her.

It felt strange. I had changed so much, but they were the same as before. When I laughed awkwardly, the Count asked,

“You did well in your first competition, didn’t you?”

“It was just beginner’s luck.”

The Count then looked a little relieved. He was relieved that I was being careful and taking notice.

I’m not stupid.

After that, I had nothing more to say.

I was a little upset that I had nothing to talk about with the Count after such a long time.

“I think I should go back to Her Highness Milliora.”

“Yes. Yes. If you need anything, please contact me at home, Lorisha.”

“Yes, Count.”

I returned to my seat and watched the Count and Countess greet the guests from afar, and Misha took the dance requests from the young people of the same age and went out onto the floor.

Then I noticed a middle-aged man sitting at a table set up separately on one side of the banquet hall.

He sat on his chair and just looked around the inside of the banquet hall. No one approached him, as if there was a fence around him.

I had to squint my eyes and focus to see the badge on his chest.

“Oh my, you’re crazy!”

He was an envoy of Agael.

I whispered closely to Her Highness Milliora.

“Your Highness, Princess. An Agael is sitting over there.”

“Did you see? He’s an Agael envoy. He came to beg for iron ore from His Majesty. He has no conscience.”

“Huh. There you are, Your Highness. If you knew that, wouldn’t you have told this maid too?

“It’s customary to throw a party when an envoy comes. You can meet the nobles and exchange information. But for the envoy of Agael? No way. That’s why His Majesty threw a birthday party early and buried him.”

Burying him...

Although the expression is a bit strange to hear, the fact that he didn’t throw a party to welcome the envoy showed His Majesty’s feelings.

The empire was at war with the Amata tribe and had never ostensibly severed diplomatic relations with Agael.

That’s why there was no excuse to openly treat the envoy of Agael so timidly, so it seemed that he was venting his anger like this.

It was also for the same reason that the nobles attending the party did not approach him.

“What does Your Highness plan to do?”

“What am I going to do? He must be enduring it. Instead of sending him away with his head on a horse, you just left him sitting there. What a waste of food.”

While listening to Her Highness the Princess, I kept my eyes focused forward.

I noticed that several of the young noblemen were looking around to ask Her Highness, the Princess, to dance.

Her Highness had already noticed this and seemed to be considering whether or not to accept the request. At that time, she looked happy.

“Now that we’re on the subject, what have you decided to say for the second competition?”

At that moment, the tea party members came rushing in.

They were happily chatting, praising Her Highness on the beauty of the party.

When they left, one of the fastest noblemen asked Her Highness the dance, and she pretended to lose and went out onto the floor with a bashful expression.

I had been watching the party from the outside, so many things were new to me when I was watching from the middle.

The party was a huge battle of wits.

Who hadn’t greeted anyone yet, who was talking to whom for the longest time, who should be asked to dance?

The attendees seemed to have no time to rest at all because they were looking at all of these things.

Then, as I turned my head, my eyes met with Prince Kydel’s. He was clearly approaching me.

For a moment, goosebumps ran down my spine from my waist to my crown.

‘That kid is asking me to dance right now!’

I wondered how much he would laugh at me if I said I didn’t know how to dance.

No, if it were him, he would have stared at me and said, ‘Then you should learn from now on!’

‘Miss Lorisha, you can do it when you’re asked to,’ he said slyly.

But at that moment, a red-haired young lady came between me and him. It was Misha.

I couldn’t believe her appearance and gestures.

That girl pretends to be so docile outside.

I was even more delighted when I realized that Misha’s pretty, squat face and coquetry went so well together.

“It’s been a while, Prince Kydel. Are you enjoying your vacation?”

“Of course, Miss Loire. It’s been a while.”

Prince Kydel hesitated for a moment when Misha blocked his path, but greeted her quite naturally.

The human heart is truly strange.

When Prince Kydel appeared, I felt annoyed, and when Misha intercepted him, I felt bad too.

Prince Kydel tried to finish the conversation with a few more polite greetings.

But Misha lowered her eyes and said, “Yes, yes,” without thinking of getting out of his way.

I thought, “What is that girl doing?” and then realized what Misha wanted.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Ah. Misha. Misha...”

Prince Kydel finally said.

How many people know that that patient, gentlemanly attitude is fake?

“Miss Loire, may I ask you to dance?”

When Misha’s face brightened at Prince Kydel’s answer, a young lady stepped in front of Prince Kydel.

“Who is that?”

The tall, brown-haired young lady stood slightly blocking Misha’s view and greeted him elegantly and confidently.

Anyone could tell that the brown-haired young lady was trying to snatch Prince Kydel from Misha.

“Prince Kydel. Nice to meet you again.”

“Miss Ankart!”

Misha’s face hardened noticeably.

Ankart, she must have been the daughter of that wealthy Viscount.

However, since Misha, like everything else, found money ridiculous, I was a little puzzled by her flustered appearance. How could the world-famous Misha Loire be so intimidated?

“Miss Misha, were you talking to Prince Kydel?”

You couldn’t tell by looking at that.

Young Lady Ankart was blatantly trying to snatch Prince Kydel away.

For a moment, I felt so excited that my palms sweated.

There’s no way Misha, a girl, could stay still.

Come on, Misha!

“No. I just wanted to say hello to Prince Kydel, whom I haven’t seen in a long time. Yes.”

When Misha backed away, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

When Prince Kydel bowed briefly and saw Misha off, Young Lady Ankart spoke.

Her expression as she stared at him with a confident smile was so confident.

“Are you going to leave me wandering around like this?”

“May I ask you to dance, Miss Ankart?”

“Please call me Kalin. Isn’t it time for that now?”

At that moment, I saw the eyes of the women in the banquet hall all flying to Prince Kydel and Kalin Ankart.

As his representative for the Second Prince, he couldn’t give up managing his popularity in high society.

Requesting a dance was a serious matter that involved a woman’s pride, so he might have to grit his teeth and dance with all the young ladies tonight.

Is that the life of a celebrity?

I felt sympathy for Prince Locard Kydel for the first time. For just a second.

When Prince Kydel tried to take her hand with a polite smile, there was a man took her hand.

“His Highness the Second Prince.”

Kalin bowed her head while holding his hand. Prince Grayon smiled and said.

“Dance with me. Ankart. Locard, is that okay?”

Prince Kydel nodded lightly as if to say, “Not at all,” and Kalin answered with a slightly excited face.

“It is an honor. Your Highness, the Second Prince.”

As His Highness Grayon led Kalin out onto the floor, the fluttering fans of the young ladies all slowed down.

And the eyes behind the fans immediately began to roll quickly.

They were trying to figure out who would be the next young lady to receive a dance request from Prince Kydel and when she would intervene in his path.

As I watched them, I thought.

‘Your Excellency, let’s not pretend to know each other today.’

I looked at Misha, who was sitting at the table over there with a sad face.

It had been a long time since I’d seen a young lady break Misha Loire’s nose.

I felt a strange feeling that was hard to explain as I looked at Misha, who seemed to have a shabby expression.

It should be nice to see her, but why did it feel sad?

‘Misha. She’s growing up so much.’
