WYMYEB - Chapter 59

It was swift enough to look more like a beast than a human.

Even though I heard the Baron's shouts, I couldn't stop walking.

If it hadn't been for the Kishian to pull me in his direction quickly, I would have been grabbed by Gert's strong hand.

It wasn't until I fell into Kishian's arms that I understood what had just happened.

"Ugh... Just..."

While I was clutching my startled chest, Gert, who had fully woken up, began to scream, with blood in his throat

"You dog-like stuff!! They came to kill me! I can't solve this right now!!"

I wondered why he didn't rush closer, but when I looked closer, I saw that his limbs were chained to the bed.

His characteristic eyes flashed and he continued to struggle.

His chained wrists and ankles were dyed blue with bruises, but he didn't stop.

"I'm going to kill you!! I'm going to kill you!!"

As I stiffened in surprise at the madman-like appearance, Baron Valdek bowed his head to me.

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Your Highness. When I saw him asleep, I was caught off guard and couldn't warn you properly. I should have told you in advance that it would be dangerous to get too close..."

"No, I'm not hurt. Is it always like that?"

"Yes, he only gets quiet for a while when he's asleep, and he usually uses evil to go that way."

As if to hide his tears, the Baron covered his face with his hands.

"I tried all kinds of medicines. I really tried all kinds of methods..."

The Baron couldn't continue.

His voice was damp with sadness, and he seemed to be holding back his tears

Without further ado, I looked back at Gert.

He was like a madman, drooling and shouting horrible things at us.

"Do you think I'm going to die at the hands of them? If only this chain could be unraveled... Uh-huh... Hmmm..."

Gert suddenly started laughing like he was out of his mind, and this time he started scratching his wrist, which was tied to the chain, with his nails upright.

Blood began to flow again on his wrist, which had already scabbed as if it had been injured.

Seeing this, the Baron shouted.

"Gert! No way! Stop it!"

When he saw his son's skin being scratched, the Baron seemed to lose his reason for a moment.

He tried to dissuade Gert from doing so, but fortunately, the Kishian stepped in and stood in the Baron's way.

At the same time, he looked at me and said,

'If you see it, let's go back."

"But..."

"I have something else to see. He almost hurt you badly. If I had moved a little later, you would have been grabbed by the neck."

At first glance, his voice sounded calm, but I could clearly read the anger in it.

Kishian was angry. I almost got hurt when I approached Gert's side.

I felt like I had to leave the room according to his words, but I couldn't move easily.

It was Gert scratching his wrist and Baron Valdek who seemed to be about to lunge at him.

I couldn't leave them like this.

I hesitated, and my brow wrinkled clearly.

"Hah..."

With a sigh of frustration, Kishian walked over to Gerd.

He then stretched out the blade of his hand and slammed it down on the nape of Gert's neck.

Gert, who was on a rampage, went limp at the blow.

He looked like he had fainted.

When Gert's self-harm stopped, the Baron slowly began to calm down.

He calmed down but still couldn't stop crying, so I took the Baron out of the room.

After, sending the Baron back with tears on his face, he apologized again and again, and we returned to our bedroom.

As soon as he closed the bedroom door, a
chilling snap flew out.

"Why do you take such a step? I know what I'm going to do."

I had already felt that he was angry, but he seemed to be more heated than I thought.

He glared at me, brushing his hair in a cramped way.

I reached out to Gert just because I was feeling at the moment.

It was vague, but I felt like something would happen if I touched it.

Even so, if I told him that fact, he would be like, "In the end, did you just move according to your mood?"

So I replied moderately, ignoring the strange sensation.

"I wanted to get closer to the symptoms and check them."

"You're going to check it out. Do you think there is a way to see it up close?"

As if he couldn't overcome his anger, he continued to pour out sharp words.

"I didn't stop you from going see him because it seems like you care about it, but there's really no way to cure the contamination."

"..."

"There were many people like that in the
punitive site. None of them came back to their senses. Nothing will change if you step up. If I let you see it from a distance, you should be satisfied with that, so why don't you get closer to it..."

As I listened to the cold words, my heart gradually calmed down.

Yes, Kishian wasn't wrong.

What would change if I stepped up?

I don't know if it's Letie, but what kind of power do I have when I'm just an ordinary human being?

I pretended to be Letie, and for a moment, I thought I was that child.

I don't even know the topic.

"I'm sorry. I guess I did as you said."

"..."

Kishian seemed to be about to say more, but he was silent.

Silence and silence again.

Neither of us knew what to say, so we kept our mouths shut.

The time that seemed to go on forever was cut short in an unexpected way.

He was starting to strode toward me.

He was just getting angry at me.

I felt a little burdened to face him directly, so I averted my gaze.

Meanwhile, he lowered his head and leaned his forehead against my shoulder.

"I just wanted you not to get hurt."

"..."

"But you don't seem to care about yourself very much."

He was referring to the fact that I had approached Gert blindly, even though he thought it was dangerous.

It seems that the fact that I took the risk without taking my own safety seriously really scratched his nerves.

"I've been so desperate to protect you, but what I've been so desperate to protect is nothing to you? You don't mind leaving me alone at any time?"

"..."

"You can do whatever you want, but don't get hurt, you may think your safety is not a big deal, but you are not."

From what I heard, it was as if I hadn't lived my life valuing myself so much.

I'm just a fake, so why do you cherish it?

Nevertheless, this man was still cherishing the fake.

He was worried about getting hurt. He got angry, and he even asked for something like this.

"I'll be careful, from now on."

I whispered in a soothing voice.

Only when he heard such a resolution did he lift his head, which had been buried in my shoulder.

My lips felt a little more heated than usual.

He pressed his lips to my ear and kissed me, then gently raised his teeth and pursed my earlobe.

After removing my long blonde hair, he pressed his lips down on the nape of my neck.

As soon as his senses became clearer, he stopped kissing.

Then he picked me up and went to bed and lowered me.

As the moonlight poured in from the bedside window, he gradually lowered his head.

The heat that poured out through our lips was very hot.

I silently accepted his lips, which were so full of life, unlike my cold body.

***

When I woke up, Kishian was not by my side.

It seemed that he had led a punitive squad early in the morning to subjugate the monsters.

I waited for the subdues to pass, and then I prepared myself appropriately and went to Baron Valdek.

Perhaps because Gert had attacked me yesterday, Baron Valdek greeted me with a look of great regret.

"Your Highness, I was really sorry for what happened yesterday. Do you have any inconvenience?"

"No, that's fine. I need something more than that, so I want you to prepare for that."

"What do you need? What? I'll prepare anything."

If I asked him to pick the moon, he would gladly pretend to do so.

Thanks to this, I was able to ask for it with a little more ease.

"Prepare a herb called Traumamelbaum. It's a plant that is used as a sleeping pill, so it's not hard to get."

The Baron seemed a little surprised when I asked him to prepare herbs for sleeping pills.

I thought he would ask me what I was going to use it for, but he didn't.

"We'll have it ready soon."

After answering that, he quietly disappeared.

All that remained was to wait.

If Traumamelbaum was ready, I would be able to identify the 'strange sensation' I felt the moment he saw Gert yesterday.
