"Mion, wait a minute."
There was a brief pause as they changed direction. Julia spoke in a huff. Then Endymion stepped back with sunken eyes.
"I think I'm feeling better."
Julia spoke cautiously, wrapping her arms around Endymion's neck.
Endymion saw that the slightly relaxed purple eyes were properly focused. He felt her face and the back of her neck carefully to make sure that everything was normal.
"I'm really okay now. My head doesn't hurt anymore and I'm not dizzy anymore."
Wasn't it the severe kind? The kind that can be relieved with skinship? Maybe it was due to magic.
Julia, who had been wondering, was relieved, thinking that it was fortunate.
"But tell Magic Tower Lord. There might be side effects, and we also need to catch the culprit."
"Yes. Then I'll give you my arm now."
Julia muttered absentmindedly at Endymion's words and raised her upper body.
"Still. I'm glad it ended here. It almost was a disaster..."
But the body that had been floating for a moment immediately fell back down. Julia met eyes with Endymion, who was dressed in disheveled clothes.
"Why...?"
"It's not over yet."
...What?
Julia, who had been blankly staring at the bulging lower jaw, took a sharp breath.
It was because she remembered clearly all the things she had done when she was out of her mind. Her bold words and actions touched and strangled Endymion who was trying to push her away!
"You have to finish what you start."
"That, that..."
It was a very subdued voice. Julia tried to make an excuse belatedly. But all the urgent words disappeared between her closed lips.
Julia finally let go of his hand, as the warmth dug in gently and seductively, even though it was rough and impatient.
Endymion quickly clasped his hands together and gently pressed them against the side of her face.
"I also need to check if it's really okay."
"Uh, how do you check... Ah!"
Finally that night, the wall collapsed again.
***
"Sniff. Do I have to contact you often?"
"Yeah, of course. I'll contact you via the communication channel once a week."
Two days later, when the day of departure arrived, Pal felt very sorry.
"Ugh. I need to tell you in detail about the state of your magical power. I also need to analyze more precisely why it stabilizes when you're with that person."
Pal clung to Julia's legs and she pointed at Endymion.
Certainly, her magical powers were much more responsive when Endymion was around.
Julia had so much magical power that she often had difficulty controlling it when using magic, but with Endymion by her side, she was able to control it naturally.
Pal was intrigued, saying that this was the first time he had seen such a case, and wanted to keep the two by his side to study It further.
It was just a guess now. Of course, they had to return to Semele as soon as possible, so he gave up.
"It seems like that person's constitution is quite unique... How could there be something I, the owner of the magic tower, don't know? It's so interesting, can't I dissect it?"
I can cut it in one go and sew it up neatly. Pal were muttering.. and he was greedy for Endymion, who was waiting for the gate to activate.
Julia stood between them, startled by the dark, sparkling eyes.
"Oh my god. No."
"Ugh. I pretended not to know that Julia did something wrong. Let me dissect it, yes?"
"Absolutely not. And what did I do wrong?"
I don't think I've done anything wrong enough to warrant dissecting a living person. Julia put her hands on her hips and shook her head firmly.
Then Pal made a mischievous smile and waved. Julia looked puzzled but bent down. Pal whispered softly in her ear.
"You meet a man every night."
"...!"
"You spend hours every day with him on the balcony. And recently, you even broke the banishment spell to drag him inside."
He, he knew all that?!
Julia opened her mouth wide. Pal had been quiet so she thought no one noticed, but it seems the owner of the magic tower is not someone who just happens to be.
Pal grinned as he looked at the shocked Julia.
It's sinister.
Julia's face turned bright red. She felt Boris and Helen, who had come out to meet her, looking at her in bewilderment.
"Let me dissect it. Yes? Yes? I have Julia every night..."
"Ouch! Pal, please!"
Julia fidgeted and cried.
"If you need it that much, then I would rather..."
Endymion crossed his arms with a bewildered expression, and the one that had been stubborn and mischievous snickered in satisfaction.
"Just kidding, just kidding. I can research with magic power, so what good is splitting open a ship?"
Pal hit Julia on the shoulder. Julia, who realized she had been tricked, blushed and glared at him resentfully. Boris and Helen were already frowning as they tried to hold back laughter.
"Don't worry. From now on, I will take responsibility for your safety!"
Pal beat their chests triumphantly.
"I let my guard down and acted softly towards Hamas, and I put both of you in danger. Heh, now I'll show you the real power of this Magic Tower."
Although Pal did not particularly like Hamas, he was a magician who basically cared about magicians.
Moreover, Hamas was the only young high-ranking wizard, and although he was displeased, he was taken in like a beloved child and given a chance to change. Of course, in the end, he was dismissed and banished to the magic stone mine.
'That kid is totally crazy!'
Furthermore, when it was revealed that Julia had been fed illegally modified pesta solution, Pal was in high spirits.
Pal grumbled, saying that was how he taught it. Then he personally added a barrier-strengthening spell to the magic stone mine. Now Hamas and Essie were locked in there for the rest of their lives, doing nothing but working.
"The gate has been activated!"
While Pal was shouting at Julia, the gate was finally completed. Pal beckoned and called out to Julia and Endymion, one by one, to cast a spell on them.
"Here's my blessing. It'll only be one time, but it'll deflect any life-threatening attack."
"Wow, that's a unique magic that only the Lord of the Tower can use! I'm jealous..."
Boris muttered in a voice full of regret.
Julia, who didn't know it was such a precious magic, hugged Pal tightly and expressed her gratitude. Pal twitched with joy and he casted the magic on Endymion as well.
"Huh?"
As the rainbow-colored magic seeped into Endymion, Pal tilted his head with a smiling face.
Endymion asked absentmindedly.
"Why?"
"Huh, that's strange. It's closed, so there's no point in forcing it open."
He scratched his chin, mumbling softly enough for Julia to hear.
Julia looked at Pal in puzzlement, as the pupils of his brown eyes seemed to dilate strangely. But Pal put his index finger to his lips and hissed.
"It's the wizards' rule, so I can't tell you. The fate of the world should be left to its own devices. Is that the law?"
It was a very abstract and vague statement.
"What does that mean?"
Julia tried to ask more, but Pal was shoved into his back.
"The two of you are not part of the Magic Tower, so I cannot directly intervene. If you need to know, you will know when the time comes."
All he did was mutter some weird words. And Pal smiled brightly and pretended not to know anything.
"Whoa, starting tomorrow, I'll be teaching this kid and looking for a successor. I'm going to be really busy. Ugh. I guess I'll have to choose from among those stubborn old men!"
Pal played with Helen's apron and he shrugged. Julia smiled and turned away.
'If it was something serious, he would have told me.'
He always acted cute, but seeing him act strangely made Julia realize that he was really Magic Tower Lord. After Julia hugged Pal tightly, he walked towards the gate.
"Wizard. It was really nice meeting you. Take care!"
"Then I will contact you later, Lord Magic Tower!"
Helen saw Julia off with tears in her eyes, and Boris said goodbye excitedly.
Pal nodded, greeted Endymion with his eyes, and then brightly called out to Julia.
"Take care. Be sure to contact me!"
"Yeah, thank you so much for everything. I'll contact you when I get there!"
The affection that had built up over the past week was quite great. After saying their heartfelt farewells, a pure white flash finally erupted and the ground beneath their feet shook violently.
Phew!
And finally, the three left the tower.
***
The day after arriving in Semele.
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty! Do you know how long I have waited?!"
The Duke of Hyde came running in as soon as the sun rose. His face was haggard as if he had been suffering alone for more than a week.
"Thank you for your time, Duke Hyde."
Julia consoled him kindly and apologized.
The coming-of-age vacation was originally scheduled for four days. But they were away for several times that amount of time, and the Duke of Hyde was not amused by the weekend work and all-nighters.
"You're on vacation until tomorrow. Come back after resting."
Endymion said as he handed over the documents. The Duke's face, which had been delighted at the news of Julia's cancellation of her return to the Magic Tower, turned pale.
"Hey, are I taking a day off?"
Endymion nodded expressionlessly, then suddenly noticed Julia's expression and changed his words.
"Three days."
"Oh my god, is that true?"
Although he was tired after working so hard all week, Duke Hyde stood up with a smile on his face.
"Thank you! Congratulations again on your safe return, you two. Well. I guess I'll be going now!"
The smiling Duke bowed and ran away, quickly, fearing that Endymion would change his words.
"Duke Hyde. Is this the first time he's had more than two days off? He really enjoys it."
Julia muttered with an apologetic expression. Endymion glanced through the papers with an indifferent expression.
"It's only natural since he's my assistant."
"Hmm. But I think he's working too much. My nephew will be born soon. He should go home and spend time with my sister..."
Endymion's question rose to the surface, asking why Julia, was worried about the Duke, his assistant, but not him.
But he was afraid that Julia would think he was being too obsessive, so he furrowed his brows and just flipped through the papers.
"I will tell him to come into the castle and stay there. There are many empty castles."
He added foolishly, though, that he was afraid Julia might think of him as a petty boss.
"Huh? Really? Oh my gosh, this is so good!"
Julia exclaimed as if she had never thought of that.
The palace was currently only used for the main palace, the Queen's palace, and the annex palace of the Grand Duchess. Originally, the concubine's palace, the Prince's palace, and the Princess's palace should have been full, but after Iris got married, they were empty.
"Then I should tell my older sister to come back to the Princess palace!"
It was close to the Queen's Palace, so she could come and go often and play. Julia was excited at the thought of being with Iris, so she called the head maid and sent a message to the Duke's residence.
"Right. What Pal told me. The black wolves are gathering strength across the continent. Semele must be among them, right?"
