IWAEBS - Chapter 99 < His Wish >

“Hohoho, you’re having tea time? I came out for a walk because the weather was nice.”

Princess Resilia's face looked brighter than the sunny weather. She looked more like someone heading to a party than out for a walk. She greeted Prince Calvain and his wife of the Pasha Empire with a smile and sincerity. To me, she just nodded roughly.

“I regret that we only got to say hello briefly at the banquet, but I’m so glad we got to meet like this.”

She likes coincidences. I almost farted loudly, like I was blowing my nose.

“It’s nice to meet you too, Princess Resilia. Would you like to sit with me? Is that okay?”

When Princess Jasper asked me with her eyes closed, I nodded automatically, lost in her kind smile.

“Yes, please sit down, Princess.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty the Empress.”

Princess Resilia answered me sharply, then sat down next to Princess Jasper and smiled brightly, showing the kindest expression in the world.

“It really is true that the rumors about the many beauties in the Kingdom of Shattonil are true. Not only Her Majesty the Empress but also Princess Resilia’s beauty is dazzling...”

Prince Calvain was praising Princess Resilia's appearance when he belatedly noticed his wife's reaction.

“Oh, of course, you are the most beautiful to me.”

Then, Princess Jasper also praised the Princess with a sincere voice.

“It’s okay, Princess Resilia really shines.”

“Hahaha, let me tell you, the Princess’s beauty is dazzling even to women, so what about men? Of course,e they can’t help but look at her. Isn’t that right, Your Majesty?”

Prince Calvain asked Linel, seeking his consent. He simply smiled lightly and did not answer. If he said yes, I would kill him, and if he said no, it would hurt Princess Resilia, so he was holding back his words. Princess Resilia seemed to accept his smile positively. Her cheeks were turning a peach color.

“If you want it, you should keep it by your side.”

At that moment, Princess Jasper looked at her brother-in-law, no, her husband, and spoke in a firm tone. I almost dropped the teacup I was holding. What was she thinking when she said something like that? Prince Calvin quietly laughed at his wife's words and asked Princess Resilia.

“It may be a bit rude to ask this, but isn’t it time for you to get married, Princess?”

“Oh, yes... that’s right.”

Princess Resilia smiled awkwardly and glanced at Linel. Hey, close your eyes. I pressed two fingers together as if I was going to poke her eyes under the table.

“My younger brother, Prince Norton, is also of a marriageable age... When I see the Princess, I naturally think of my younger brother.”

Princess Resilia's delicate shoulders trembled at the mention of Prince Norton.

“Oh, by the way, how about having a meal with Prince Norton sometime?”

Linel, who had been silent, suddenly encouraged the two to meet. Princess Jasper also smiled brightly and actively participated.

“That would be good. Since we are staying together in the villa anyway, it won’t be too much of a hassle, right? Before having dinner with Prince Norton, we can enjoy some refreshments among ourselves. Is that okay?”

“Yeah, of course.”

Princess Resilia seemed to have answered Princess Jasper's sudden proposal without realizing it.

“It was my wish that the distinguished guests would get along well with each other, and it is really nice to see that.”

Linel said, sipping his vanilla coffee with a pleased expression.

“I hope we have a good relationship.”

Grand Duke Martins slowly opened his eyes, squinting against the sunlight that fell on his face.

“Haa, did I end up falling asleep here?”

It was Prince Norton's room. More precisely, on the bed. The owner of this room was nowhere to be seen. The Grand Duke sat up in bed. He recalled the dramatic encounter with Prince Norton last night, just before he lost consciousness. When he pretended to be drunk and called out Prince Norton's name in the hallway, fortunately, Prince Norton heard the Grand Duke's voice and came out of the room to help him up and take him away.

'You don't smell alcohol. Why can't you control your body? Your Highness, what's wrong?'

Grand Duke Martins had no time to answer Prince Norton's questions.

'Quickly... you must evacuate your son to a safe place!'

'What are you talking about all of a sudden?'

'Tesla, that crazy bastard... Haa, hurry, there’s no time! He's hired the Assassin’s Guild, they’ll find your son soon...'

With those words, Grand Duke Martins's memory was cut off. The Grand Duke took his pocket watch out of his pocket and checked the time. It was already well past lunchtime. Prince Norton had safely evacuated Rams to a safe place last night, he wanted to believe so.

“I slept too long in an empty room.”

Grand Duke Martins shook his body and opened the bedroom door. The servants of the Empire of Pasha glanced at the Grand Duke as he came out of Prince Norton's room with strange eyes. Grand Duke Martins heard the servants whispering among themselves as he went down the stairs.

“That person really slept with Prince Norton?”

“That’s right. I told you, he was drunk last night and was looking for our Prince.”

“But the Prince also ordered his attendants not to enter the room until instructed.”

“Oh my, why?”

“Why would that be?”

Grand Duke Martins wanted to go up the stairs and explain himself right away, but he hurried down the stairs. He had to visit the 'Dignified Night' clinic again. Grand Duke Martins was not in a hurry because of the appointment time. It was because of the awkward conversation he had with Prince Tesla about the Empress the previous night.

'Are you thinking of... cutting off the supply of magic potions?'

'Thoughts? I'm a guy who acts faster than I think.'

Even though it was Prince Tesla's drunken rambling, it had an ominous feel to it. Furthermore, in the middle of the conversation, he summoned a knight and ordered the Assassination Guild to hire him to eliminate Rams, so he couldn't ask about the magic potion anymore.

'What if Tesla had already intervened with Wizard Big? Should I tell the Empress about this first?'

Grand Duke Martin shook his head. There was no need to make Zelda feel uneasy in advance.

'Let's go to the clinic first.'

The Grand Duke's pace quickened.

Moiya and Aoshi sat in a circle in front of Rosie and watched Rams sleeping peacefully in her arms.

“Can’t you say anything about this trivial thing?”

Moiya asked, pressing Rams' chubby cheek.

“It has to be bigger.”

Rosie couldn't take her eyes off Rams' face since last night. Who is the mother? Seeing the baby so pretty, she must be beautiful. Her curiosity about Rams' mother grew. After a while, Rams, who had been sleeping soundly, opened his eyes and started whining.

“Why are you awake? Did you wake up because of the noise? Why are you crying all of a sudden?”

As Rosie fidgeted and tried to soothe the baby, Moiya looked down at Rams and asked him questions in a cold tone.

“Did you dream? Or did you wet your diaper again? Or are you just hungry again?”

“Aha, I think he’s crying because he’s hungry. You guys, watch him for a moment. I’ll have to ask Misha to warm up some milk.”

“Rosie said, carefully placing Rams down on the bed.

“But, is it okay for Misha to know about this dumb little human?”

Moiya asked Rosie as she headed towards the bedroom door.

“Misha has been my servant since I was little, so it’s okay. And she knows about Moiya, too.”

Rosie said with a worried expression. Misha was a servant that Rosie's mother had hired herself before she died. She was the only servant who had access to Rosie's mother's underground laboratory, a sorceress in the Countess Adelid's household. In addition, Rosie knew that her mother had given her a 300-year-old wyvern egg. Of course, the same thing happened when Moiya hatched from the egg.

“But humans are animals that, since ancient times, have been incapable of revealing all their secrets...”

Moiya grumbled to himself while carrying his luggage on his back, then raised one hand and shouted at Rosie.

“Sausage when you come!”

“Gyaruruk.”

Rams, who had been whining, smiled at Moiya.

“Meow. (I guess he likes sausages too. Look at his smile, he’s like an angel.)”

“What kind of angel is an angel without wings?”

At Aoshi's words, Moiya put his hand on Rams' back and groped him, then snorted. Rams started whining again as if he was annoyed by Moiya. Then Moiya put both hands on Rams' waist and warned him.

“Hey, you’re the last in line here. It’s me, Aoshi, Rosie, and you’re the last. Got it?”

“Oooh.”

Rams clapped his hands and laughed again.

“This isn’t some kind of shelter, and if we keep doing this, all the worthless things will just gather in Rosie’s bedroom.”

Moiya muttered, looking back and forth between Rams and Aoshi.

“Meow. (Now let’s protect him too.)”

“Oh my, my fate. A child trapped in ice and someone who can’t even understand what you’re saying. It’s really annoying, Moiya~.”

“Meow meow? (But, didn’t her father believe that Rosie confessed and left the baby with Rosie?)”

Oh, that could be so. Judging from the atmosphere of the conversation between Rosie and Prince Norton last night, Rosie still seemed to not know the truth. How can someone who reads so many books be so clueless? Moiya shook Rams' small hand, knowing that he had committed a crime.

“We have to help each other and live together. Let’s get along well for now, rookie.”

***

After visiting the palace with Linel, we had lunch together and headed to Rosie's quarters with Bonis. I was concerned that I had sent Rosie away yesterday when Prince Tesla barged into the office. I turned to Commander Macrom, who was quietly following behind me and asked.

“Have you already said hello to Bonis?”

Then, Commander Macrom nodded and answered.

“Yes, Your Majesty the Empress.”

“Thank you so much for yesterday.”

When Bonis spoke to Commander Macrom,

"You're welcome."

The Commander answered Bonis in a much softer tone than when he had answered me.

“I hope you will pay more attention to Bonis’s security from now on than to me.”

I asked Commander Macrom seriously. Prince Tesla was angry about the mess and might want to hack me and Bonis. I could protect myself, but she was different.

“Don’t worry, I will serve you as if she were Your Majesty the Empress.”

At the honest voice of Commander Macrom, I met Bonis' eyes and smiled slightly.

“It’s sturdy.”

All the way to Bonis and the West Palace, we talked about the excellent landscaping skills of the Lapion Imperial Family, comparing them to the gardens of the Shattonil Palace. When we came into view of the palace of Rosir in the distance, we heard an ominous voice.

'Your Majesty the Empress, the weather is really nice today.'

It was Emperor Adrian's voice. When I turned my head to the right, it was the road leading to the villa. Not far away, a silver hairtail was flapping. I felt it intuitively. Today, from the beginning, he had been telling me his true feelings openly. Why on earth did I keep hearing Emperor Adrian's true feelings? Emperor Adrian himself clearly did not know that I could hear his true feelings at first. That's why he tested me by making up a lie about mixing poison in my cocoa tea.

'I guess you're going to a nice place?'

Emperor Adrian lowered his voice as if he was whispering directly into my ear. Oh, you pervert. Look at how you whisper to me while talking to me inwardly. You're really playing around.

'Your Majesty the Empress already knows, right?'

What do I know? I was curious about hia question, but I pretended not to hear anything. I should just stop talking. I continued walking, chatting with Bonis. However, I stopped walking without realizing it when Emperor Adrian added something.

'The fact that there is a wyvern in the Lapion Imperial Palace.'

'What?!'
