IWAEBS - Chapter 109 < I Got Caught, Moiya >

When I first met it in the Empress's Palace, it definitely had red eyes. What happened? It definitely looked like this cat, but it was really strange. Are there two cats?

“Oh, that could be the case.”

I put the white kitten down on the floor.

“Your friend is in there too, right? He has red eyes. Is that right?”

I looked under the bed and spoke to the cat, but it was just talking to itself. But the cat backed away and ran into the bed. What the hell?

“Tell the friend I met back then to come out.”

I snickered and spoke to the cat who had climbed into bed.

“Come out.”

I drummed both hands on the marble floor and called to the red-eyed cat that had been held in my arms in the back garden of the Empress's Palace.

“Yes, yes. Come out here.”

I could see red eyes blinking under the dark bed. As expected, there were two cats. I spoke in a soothing voice so that the cat I had met in the back garden of the Empress's Palace would not be scared.

“I came to see you. So come out and see me. Yes?”

The two red eyes hesitated for a while, then slowly appeared from behind the bedpost.

“Right, here.. Huh! T, what is this..?!”

The red eyes that timidly appeared from behind the bedpost were not those of a cat, but a baby wyvern... A wyvern? Yes, that’s a wyvern, right? I felt dizzy for a moment and collapsed to the side.

“Master, master! Master?!”

The baby wyvern ran towards me with a worried look on its face and shouted.

“Ow? Master, your butt must be really sore, Moiya~.”

"Ah!"

I was on the verge of fainting. Am I seeing things? The wyvern is even talking... I looked up and looked at Bonis and Sharon. Not only I, but the two of them were sitting on the ground, staring at the baby wyvern with their mouths wide open.

Haa, I wasn’t seeing things wrong. Still, I rubbed my eyes with my hands just in case. The baby wyvern was still staring at me in front of me. At that moment, the bathroom door opened.

“Ah, Your Majesty the Empress!”

Rosie, who was holding Rams, looked back and forth between me and the baby wyvern, then called out to me as if screaming, and slid down to the ground and knelt down. A similar situation occurred as when Rams was caught yesterday.

“Your Majesty, the Empress! Are you alright?”

Rosie said the same thing as the baby wyvern, looking at me with a nervous expression. As soon as Rosie came out of the bathroom, the baby wyvern hid behind the bedpost again and stared at me with its head tilted to the side.

“How would you explain today’s work...?”

I asked, nodding to the baby wyvern behind Rosie. Rosie turned her head to the baby wyvern. Then the baby wyvern lowered its head and backed away, trying to sneak into the bedroom.

“Stop! If you understand what I’m saying.”

I quickly pointed to the baby wyvern with my hand. To my surprise, the baby wyvern slowly stepped forward with its hind legs that had been stretched out backwards and hugged the bedpost again. Oh my, it even understands what I say.

“That red, no, that black, no... that little wyvern. Explain, Rosie.”

Even while I was talking to Rosie, a baby wyvern kept coming into my field of vision. I don't know why it was looking at me with such sad eyes.

“I... that...”

“It’s okay, don’t be nervous. How is there a wyvern in the palace? And in your quarters, too.”

Rosie nodded at my words, swallowed hard, and opened her mouth.

“Do you remember the large egg that Your Majesty the Empress saw when you visited here the other day?”

“Oh, that thing that rolled under my feet?”

“Yes, the eggs that Your Majesty the Empress was going to have for lunch.”

“You mean... that egg hatched? That’s him?”

“That’s right, Your Majesty, the Empress.”

As soon as Rosie finished speaking, the baby wyvern behind her rubbed his belly and spoke to me.

“I almost ended up in your stomach, Master~.”

Rosie turned her head and looked at the baby wyvern, telling it to be quiet and to be quiet. Then the baby wyvern that had been touching its belly closed its mouth again and took a deep breath. Oh, by the way, didn’t Emperor Adrian tease me by calling me the Queen of Wyverns? And he asked if I knew that there was a wyvern in the palace. Did the silver-haired already notice the presence of the baby wyvern? If so, how did the silver-haired know?

“Rosie, how did you get hold of the wyvern egg?”

“It was originally kept by my mother, and she left it to me before she passed away.”

“What about Rosie’s mother?”

“My mother... was actually a magician, and I heard that she received it from her teacher.”

“Ha, Rosie. You know how the Northern and Southern Continents fought a war to get hold of the wyvern eggs? If it becomes known that there is a wyvern baby in the Lapion Imperial Palace...

I spoke in a very low voice.

“Yes. But the egg that Your Majesty, the Empress, saw hasn’t broken for 300 years. So that baby wyvern isn’t the one from the Valley of Death. Oh, and its name is Moiya.”

“...Yes, Moiya.”

I glanced at the baby wyvern and called its name. For some reason, Moiya had been staring at me with his heart about to burst out of his eyes.

“Moiya was trapped in an egg for 300 years and hatched recently.”

“Is that even possible?”

“In the Wyvern world. I don’t know why Moiya hasn’t hatched from her egg for 300 years, but one thing is certain...”

Rosie paused for a moment, then took a deep breath and continued.

“The fact is that Moiya hatched after Her Majesty the Empress visited.”

"...What?"

“I think Moiya was awakened by Her Majesty the Empress’s voice or energy.”

It was so absurd that I burst out laughing. But on the other hand,

'Queen of the Wyverns!'

The words that Emperor Adrian had spoken to me inwardly kept repeating to me.

***

'You finally found out about Moiya's existence!'

After bathing Rams with Rosie, Misha went out of the bedroom and sent all the servants who were in the waiting room outside the bedroom to the hallway as yesterday. She had to tell her original master, the Lord of the Towers, Bellos. She opened the window and whistled to call the crow.

Before the crow could reach the window, Misha took out a piece of paper from her pocket and wrote down the fact that the Empress had finally met the baby wyvern. Before she could even finish folding the paper, the crow flew to the windowsill and lifted one of its feet.

“Today is finally the day to deliver the important news you’ve been waiting for.”

Misha smiled as she tied a piece of paper to the crow's raised paw.

“Go ahead.”

At Misha's words, the crow flew up into the sky again.

***

“Is that by any chance...”

Emperor Adrian, who was walking near the villa, raised his head while shielding himself from the sunlight with his left hand. A crow was flying by. The crow that had been flying across the sky disappeared into thin air at some point. When Emperor Adrian saw it, he was certain that it was the crow of Bellos Brodian.

“You already knew everything? Well, it was the egg you had originally.”

The crow would head towards the island of Aklatto, where the Bonamano Tower was located.

“Your Majesty, are you going to start moving now?”

Emperor Adrian muttered as he glanced at the buildings of the Western Palace and the Concubines in the distance.

“From here on out, you’ve cut off all traces of the wyvern’s energy.”

So, there was no way to know which building in the West Palace the Wyvern was in.

“I’m sure it’s somewhere there...”

Emperor Adrian resumed his walk.

***

That wyvern awakened through me? No matter how much I thought about it, it was something I couldn't accept.

“Just now... does anyone understand what Rosie is saying?”

I looked back and forth between Bonis and Sharon and asked. The two of them still had their mouths open. At that moment, the baby wyvern raised its hand. Seeing that, Rosie spoke to Moiya as if he were being harassed.

“Shhh, I told you to stay still.”

As Moiya lowered his hand and scratched his wing,

“Meow.”

The kitten, who had crawled back under the bed, came up to Moiya and sat down next to him, licking his wing.

“Hia name is Aoshi, master.”

When I looked at the cat, Moiya told me its name. Why do all wyverns and cats have that kind of name? When Aoshi met my eyes, he trembled like before.

By the way, the way Moiya called me 'Master' really bothered me. Emperor Adrian, who called me the 'Queen of Wyverns', must know something too... My head was a mess. I thought I should ask Rosie for a more detailed explanation.

“Rosie, why on earth did you tell me that Moiya, not the Wyvern, had awakened?”

No matter how much I think about it, this is something I can't understand.

“Her Majesty the Empress has summoned me, Moiya~.”

Before Rosie could even open her mouth, Moiya flapped his little wings and chimed in. I ignored Moiya and asked Rosie another question.

“You said earlier that your mother was a wizard. What kind of wizard was she?”

“I heard that my mother trained as a healing magician at the Magic Tower on Aklatto Island before marrying my father. And the Magic Tower Lord entrusted her with a wyvern egg.”

“Your mother is from the island of Aklatto?”

“Yes. Oh, and while wyvern eggs can usually hatch on their own without the mother incubating them, it is said that special wyverns can only hatch with a special power.”

“Is that the case for Moiya?”

When I asked Rosie, Moiya nodded behind her and smiled bashfully.

“But I heard that Moiya hatched after I left. What power do I have?”

“I’m also good at that...”

“Rosie, you really don’t know?”

I asked her questioningly, scanning the numerous books spread out like stepping stones on her bedroom floor. There was no way she, who was usually a bookworm, would not have looked into this. As if my expectation was right, Rosie touched her lips with her hand and made a hesitant expression.

“It’s okay, if you know anything, just tell me. Oh, and Bonis and Sharon are okay.”

I had reassured her in advance, thinking that maybe she couldn't tell me because of the two people. After all, since Rams and Wyvern had already witnessed it, there was nothing left to hide from them.

“But I’m not sure yet...”

“Tell me at least a guess.”

Only then did Rosie nod her head vigorously and open her mouth.

“In my humble opinion... I cautiously guess that Your Majesty, the Empress, is probably a Wyvern Lord.”

“I... what did you say?”

I pressed my fingertips against my forehead and asked again. Now I couldn't even laugh in vain. What nonsense!

“He who handles fire. He will become the lord who moves the wyvern.”

"What?"

“That’s what my mother said. And my mother gave me an old book about wyverns, and in that book...”

Rosie looked at me again, trailing off.

“Keep talking, hurry.”

I tried to keep my composure.

“I saw a drawing of a certain mark. That mark seems to appear on those who handle fire... It was very similar to the burn scar on Her Majesty the Empress’s right cheek.”

I froze at Rosie's words. Rosie knows my burn scars... When and how did she see them?!
