INAS - Chapter 132

 Moz was very embarrassed.

He couldn't understand why she was so angry.

But he nodded his head coolly, fearing that speaking rashly would only cause more anger, and then a shout came out.

“Why did you do that! Do you know what the Earth is like now because of what you did? Wherever your darkness passed, it became a ruin! Your darkness sucked out all the life force!”

“...My darkness?”

Moz was shocked by the completely unexpected remark.

Since birth, he and the darkness have been one and the same, but he never dreamed that they had such a nature.

In the first place, there were no living things in this underground world where he resided.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know. I was just worried because you didn’t come by... so I just wanted to see how you were doing...”

“Yiu should have waited! Because of you, because of your darkness, the world I have nurtured for hundreds of years has fallen into disarray!”

Her eyes were filled with clear tears as she sat down, clutching her head.

Moz, whose heart sank at the sight of her tears for the first time in his life, was at a loss as he tried to comfort her.

“I’m sorry, Hethel. I never dreamed that my darkness had such a nature. If I had known, I would never have sent it up. Don’t cry, I won’t do it again.”

“...Are you sure you won’t do that again?”

“Yes. I promise. I will never do anything that will make you sad.”

He promised as if he were ironclad.

But unfortunately, that promise was not kept.

Hethel's visits became increasingly rare, and Moz did not see her for a whole month.

Presumably, this was because the goddess was becoming less mobile as she neared full term.

The omnipotent goddess could instantly travel anywhere in the world, but there was one place she couldn't: the underground where Moz was.

This was Moz's domain, and within it, she had no influence whatsoever.

So the goddess had to move her own two feet every time to get here, but as her stomach grew heavier and heavier, it seemed that this was becoming more and more difficult.

But the man, who was unaware of this fact, became anxious and eventually broke his promise to the goddess and took out the darkness.

But he also strongly urged it.

“Hethel does not welcome your presence, so do not catch her eye. And do not damage the things that Hethel cherishes.”

Darkness, who had gone to Hethel by groping only in the shade where life did not grow according to the master's will, transmitted the scene unfolding before his eyes to Moz as it was.

The image of a goddess half-lying, leaning against the head of the bed.

Moz's expression brightened at seeing her for the first time in a long time.

But that was only for a moment, as he looked at someone next to her and his expression hardened again.

A man with curly white hair and dazzling golden eyes, he was her subordinate.

He stayed by Hethel's side, fanning her and wiping the sweat from her forehead with a clean cloth.

He sang a song with his beautiful voice for her while she was free, and he put his ear to her belly, which had grown a little bigger while he was not looking.

Moz's eyes shook in shock.

He couldn't understand why there was another man beside her and not him, why he was putting his ear to his lover's belly and feeling the movements of his child.

“Could it be that Hethel’s mind has changed? Has she become disappointed in me because of what happened last time and decided not to come to me anymore?”

So does that mean I can't stay by her side anymore?

It was only in an instant that the anxiety that was growing by the minute engulfed Moz.

“Am I going to be abandoned in the end?”

The darkness of the underworld gathered around Moz, who was muttering ominously.

The darkness, which had been growing bigger and bigger by feeding on the owner's anger, immediately spread out toward the ground.

Wherever the black shadow passed, life was lost.

From every blade of grass in the field to the small animals that had made their home there, everything that Hethel cherished died.

Even though he knew that this would definitely provoke Hethel's anger, he couldn't stop.

He couldn't control the rage that was running wild inside him.

At one point, as he was running wild and killing the world at a frighteningly fast pace, a harsh noise mixed in with the silence that seemed like an eternity.

Although it was a little different than usual, Moz immediately recognized the noise as Hethel's footsteps looking for him.

As expected, it wasn't long before Hethel appeared in his sight.

Instead of her usual calm demeanor, her face was filled with dark anger.

“What the hell are you doing, Moz! You promised never to send darkness up again!”

“...”

“Do you know what the Earth looks like now? Do you know what your subjugation has done to my world?”

It was a scream, not a yell.

It was the pain of her having to watch the creatures she loved and cared for die.

But Moz didn't hold her and comfort her like he used to.

He just stared at her with his blank black eyes.

“You were the one who betrayed me first.”

"What?"

“I told you I was your companion. I told you that only I could stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this world. I told you that only I could share my heart with you. Only I...”

“What does that mean...”

“But why!”

Moz's voice grew louder.

That high-pitched voice was filled with all sorts of dark emotions.

“Did I let you go to another man?”

And the one that took up the largest proportion of them was resentment.

The goddess also seemed to notice it, as she stopped expressing her anger and stared blankly at Moz.

Even so, his anger continued to flow out of his mouth.

“Why did you allow another man to stay by your side, touch you, and be your pleasure?”

“What the hell are you talking about... Moz, I really don’t know what you’re talking about. Who the hell are you talking about...”

She muttered as if she couldn't understand, then stopped for a moment.

“Are you talking about Chihara?”

When he remained silent, the goddess hurriedly made an excuse.

“Don’t be so ignorant, Moz. That child is my slave. He is nothing more than an arm and a leg. He is not like you, my companion.”

But it didn't work on Moz, who was already blinded by jealousy and anger.

“Just subordination? That’s a lie.”

“Moz!”

“Then why didn’t you come to me for so long? Why did you abandon me, when I had no one else in the world to rely on but you, when I couldn’t move a single step from here if you didn’t come to me when I could only wither away and die in loneliness?”

“Moz, that’s... that’s because I’m not single, so my behavior is...”

“I don’t want to hear it!”

A cry of pain cut through her words.

“No matter what the reason, the fact remains that you abandoned me. That you betrayed me, your companion, and allowed another man to be by your side.”

His eyes, which had been blazing with anger, were once again consumed by darkness.

“If this was going to happen, why did you reach out to me, Hethel? Why did you share your warmth with me, and let me be by your side? If you had just left me alone, if you had just turned your back from the beginning and pretended not to know, if I had never learned of these feelings, then this wouldn’t have been so painful.”

“Moz.”

“Hethel, you made me. To only look at you, to depend on you, to be unable to do anything without you. So why don’t you? It’s not fair.”

“...”

“Just as you are everything to me in my world, I should be everything to you too. That’s right... Ah, was it I who had to make it so? Yes, that’s what it was. Just as you made me that way, I had to do the same. With these very hands...”

Moz, who had been muttering like a lunatic, finally seemed to have come to a realization and looked straight at the goddess with eyes filled with joy.

There was a creepily beautiful smile on his lips.
