CYSWTF - Chapter 39 < Misha of the Tea Party >

But she was real. Eria came in front of me and smiled awkwardly.

“Maid, the Princess is calling.”

“I’ll be there soon. Thank you.”

I grumbled as I hurriedly wrapped up the tea I had brought.

“Isn’t the deadlock ending when one side starts fighting?”

“You know more than just medicine, maid.”

The laughter echoing in his throat was pleasant to hear, but I couldn’t laugh along.

I turned around to look at him and said solemnly.

“Please wish me good luck.”

***

I entered the Princess’s reception room and stopped dead in my tracks.

The Tea Party members, including Keryl, were sitting on the sofa as usual, but there was a new face there.

A very familiar new face.

Misha was chatting happily with them.

What is she doing here?

The young ladies pretended not to see me and chattered excitedly.

“Even though Prince Kydel often misses classes to serve His Highness the Second Prince, he never misses being the top student?”

“I’m really surprised, too.”

“The last time I saw Prince from afar in the central garden, he was so manly!”

“And Miss Misha is living in the academy with someone like that!”

After a few groans, Keryl glanced at me as if telling me to listen.

“Miss Misha must have had a hard time living in the same house as her illegitimate child. You deserve some compensation for that.”

Then they exchanged a smirk. Misha smiled even though she knew the atmosphere.

What are you talking about, you bitches?

I looked at them in surprise.

This was an unexpectedly novel plan. Her Highness the Princess wanted to bring Misha, who knew my weaknesses the best, and enjoy chewing me up with the members of the Tea Party.

Misha was going crazy because I stole her maid position, so she would say anything without any consideration for the family’s honor.

This was really embarrassing. I couldn’t bully Misha in front of them, nor could I be bullied by them.

‘I’m going crazy.’

The ladies who noticed my hesitation were visibly excited.

When Keryl was about to continue, another lady asked first.

“Miss Loire, what do you do after class at the Academy? Do you often run into Prince Kydel?”

Their eyes sparkled whenever Prince Kydel was mentioned.

It seemed that no one knew yet that he was a persistent and disgusting man who would jump out of the windows of the girls’ rooms.

Well, even if he had jumped over the windows of these ladies’ rooms, their reactions would have been the same.

I never learned one thing while receiving etiquette education from the Countess.

She explained it this way.

‘When you go out in society, you act as a fictional character, not yourself.'

I wondered if Misha had mastered that technique. I didn’t want to find out, though.

Misha glanced at me, who was standing there with my mouth shut, and said, pretending to be great.

“There’s no time to play. Even if I study every moment I open my eyes during the semester, there’s not enough time.”

“Oh my, my!”

“The Academy’s reputation wasn’t built for nothing.”

“You really are the daughter of the Third Lion.”

“That’s overpraise.”

“If I had known that Prince Kydel would enter the Academy as soon as he returned from the war, I would have studied harder for the Academy entrance exam.”

“Life at the Academy with Prince Kydel! I had the same regrets. I really envy Miss Misha!”

Misha blushed brightly and answered.

“Yes, it’s precious time.”

I felt a little empty. Misha seemed to calm down noticeably as she realized how much people envied her.

And those girls were so excited to hear about Prince Kydel that they forgot that they were supposed to be trolling me.

Her Highness’s plan was plausible, but it was ultimately her mistake.

Those girls only know how to drink tea and perm all day long, and they’re not interested in anything but good things.

Macaroons and pointlessly handsome guys! The only one who was conscious in the room was Keryl. She was constantly darting her eyes around, looking for a moment to attack me.

However, Prince Kydel’s popularity far outstripped Her Highness’s malice, so it was pitiful to see Keryl struggling.

And Keryl got to work.

“If Miss Misha had entered the academy earlier, you would have been the one to become the maid of Her Highness now. What a shame.”

“...”

Misha looked at me silently at Keryl’s words.

The resentment in her eyes was deep and vivid. I was tired of feeling wronged, but Misha didn’t seem to get tired.

‘Misha...’

She said with an elegant smile toward the young ladies.

“I wish I could graduate quickly, too. So that everything can fall into place.”

“That’s right. People shouldn’t misunderstand that an illegitimate child can take the position of a maid. Miss Misha must have a great sense of responsibility.”

Keryl made a face of regret at her last words, and Misha quickly opened her eyes.

Keryl’s implication that things turned out this way because Loire failed to properly control illegitimate children was just as the Countess had said. I smiled bitterly.

“What responsibility are you talking about, Miss Keryl?”

At Misha’s question, Keryl drank tea and ignored the question, and the atmosphere was instantly dampened.

Ker was embarrassed by her slip of the tongue, but she was also a person who couldn’t stand to lose.

“I think that if Miss Misha had a hard time becoming a maid, then Loire shouldn’t have sent a maid. Of course, if Miss Misha had other sisters, then it would have been a different matter.”

At that, Misha smiled just like the Countess.

“I think that kind of criticism was inevitable. I wonder how much better it would have been if His Highness the First Prince had ordered us to send a maid to the Lishen instead of the Loire.”

Misha’s response sounded like she was asking me what to do when His Majesty the First Prince had rated the illegitimate child of the Loire family better than Keryl’s family, the Lishen family.

Oh, Misha. Are you doing something?

Keryl’s eyes widened, and then she shut her mouth tightly, and the young ladies looked at each other nervously.

The atmosphere was tense and tense, and there was no trace of the squealing atmosphere from earlier when they talked about Prince Kydel.

It seemed that the Princess had left while the thugs dealt with me, but that was a mistake. They needed proper management and supervision.

Why do I feel so sorry for them?

Kery snapped.

“That sounds like you’re disrespecting our Lishen family, Miss Misha.”

“Huh? How did you misunderstand that? Absolutely not, Miss Keryl. After all, the servants value ability. For example, only those from the Academy are selected. I was just pointing that out.”

Misha’s humble acting was perfect, but this was a gathering of only the best.

Keryl glared at Misha with her eyes and said,

“That’s right. Academy cadets must have outstanding qualities. I saw Miss Misha’s leadership at Miss Ankart’s party a while ago and thought that not just anyone can become an Academy cadet.”

The leadership she spoke of was definitely not what she originally meant.

But if it was Ankart, that rich Viscount Ankart?

Misha had a face that looked like she had chewed dirt. It meant that Keryl had really touched Misha’s weak point.

“The young people didn’t leave your side for a second because they were looking at Miss Misha’s smile. You were the flower of that party.”

Keryl’s tone of voice made it sound like Misha was acting like some kind of hostess.

But I was curious. I knew how Misha acted at parties. When there were a lot of people, Misha was like a fountain.

She would sit quietly in the middle of a place where people could see her, let everyone admire her, and then wait for them to compliment her or make a wish, like throwing a coin into the fountain.

That kind of girl would try to please men at someone else’s party? It was only yesterday that she had fallen for Prince Kydel and cried and complained.

The teacup Misha put down made a trembling sound as her hands shook, and the young woman’s eyes wandered around each other.

It was a story that was hard to believe.

What on earth did she do after going through all that trouble to get into the academy?

Misha forced a smile, but she couldn’t hide the trembling in her voice.

“Miss Keryl, who would misunderstand if they heard that? My beauty and the attention from the other girls are not my fault, right?”

“Everyone who knows already knows that Miss Misha will do anything for Lady Ankart. Haven’t you heard?”

Keryl whispered softly.

“Come to think of it, you were already a maid.”

Misha jumped up from her seat. The teacup in her hand looked ready to fly at Keryl at any moment.

Damn it.

Count Loire’s two daughters couldn’t cause trouble in the Princess’s palace.

“Misha!”

When I called out softly, Misha trembled and glared at me.

Keryl’s attacks were brutal, but even so, I was the person Misha hated the most in this room.

When Keryl saw that, she grumbled as if she had been waiting for it.

“For an illegitimate child to raise her voice against a legitimate daughter, that was where the problem started.”

At that moment, the door opened.

“Your Highness, the Princess.”
