CYSWTF - Chapter 31 < Say thank you to me, Misha >

My head is already in a mess. Why are you even bothering me?

You were quiet for a while, but you’re acting up again. But right now, I don’t have time to worry about Misha.

It didn’t hurt much to get hit by a girl with such soft hands.

I said coldly.

“Get out. I have to sleep.”

“You dirty bastard who doesn’t even know shame!”

“...”

Hearing Misha’s curse, my sleep suddenly disappeared.

“I’m not in the mood right now, Misha. Get out!”

“That maid’s seat was mine! And you’re taking it away?”

That was it. I felt like my spirit was being ripped off.

Not knowing why it was being pushed onto me, I really...

“As a bastard... You’re a devil, Lorisha. If I were to enter the palace, I wouldn’t have to go to the academy anymore! I ruined everything because of you.”

Even in my daze, I was amazed at Misha Loire’s thoughts.

She doesn’t like the Academy. She doesn’t know how precious what I have is.

When I came to my senses a little more, I got angry.

This idiot, she’s complaining that the maid’s seat is hers because she doesn’t want to go to the Academy right now? Is that something you should say in your right mind?

Misha didn’t stop there.

“You should never use our family name. The biggest mistake my father made was sowing seeds for your mother. Ouch!”

I bit my teeth and swung my arm to slap her back. Then I snorted.

I chewed hard at Misha, who was frozen in surprise.

“Misha Loire, have you ever thought about why this maid’s seat was given to this illegitimate child? If the legitimate daughter had done her job right, how in the world would this have happened? If you want to die, tell me more about my mother!”

Only then did Misha come to her senses and start to swear.

“You, you bad... you bad thing! You dirty thing! Get out, get out of my house!”

“Even if you catch me, I’ll go. To the palace. The Countess, your mother, begged me to go to the palace!”

“Ahhhh! Lorisha! I hate you! I hate you so much I could die!”

Misha lost her temper and lunged at me. I couldn’t tell if my disheveled appearance made her look defenseless or if she was that crazy.

But I had no intention of putting up with it. She had crossed the line when she dared to talk about my mother.

I slapped Misha’s arm away and grabbed her head, pressing it down onto the blanket. Misha couldn’t get up, so she groaned and struggled.

The more helpless Misha was, the angrier I got. Why does this stupid girl have everything without even trying, and why do I always miss her right before my eyes, no matter how hard I try?

I said cruelly.

“Say thank you to me, Misha Loire. I am saving you now. How long do you think it will take you to enter the palace and tarnish the honor of the third lion? Half a day? No, an hour is enough. Now, thank me! Be grateful!”

But Misha kept mumbling.

“The maid’s seat is mine. I should have gone to the palace, not the Academy!”

“Lorisha!”

At that moment, the door burst open and the Countess came running. Her face turned pale at the sight of Misha struggling.

‘Good. Your mother is here.’

I let go of Misha, mocking her inwardly, and Misha gasped and ran into the Countess’s arms.

The Countess checked Misha’s face to see if she was okay, and Misha sobbed sadly.

“Mom, Mom! Did you see that just now? That, that’s me...!”

“Misha! Oh my god, let’s go quickly.”

“...Mom?”

Misha stopped crying. The sight of her red hair disheveled and her eyes wide open was something to behold.

The Countess’s reaction was unexpected, even for me. When I caught her pressing down on Misha’s head, I was ready to be beaten for the first time in a long time. But she was trying to appease Misha by looking at my expression.

Misha’s lips trembled, and she said,

“Mom? You saw what that thing did to me just now! So just leave it alone?”

“Yes. Let’s talk to Mom, Misha. Hurry up. Lorisha, did you wake her up? Hurry up and sleep more.”

“Mom...? Are you in your right mind? Mom!”

The Countess dragged Misha away, who was clinging to her. I couldn’t believe what I had just seen: that the Countess was taking my side.

I quietly muttered in shock,

“Will I really die if I go to the palace?”

The next day, I was able to hear about the situation through Teria.

Misha cried and swore for hours, saying that those who ignored her would pay the price someday.

Later, her eyes were bloodshot, and the maids were surprised. It was something that had never happened before.

***

When Grayon returned to the living room and snickered, Locard turned his head in puzzlement. He was reading a book, lying on the balcony of the Second Prince as if it were his own home.

“Did something interesting happen?”

“If it is interesting, then it is interesting. The third lion’s illegitimate child.”

Locard’s eyebrows quickly furrowed.

“She entered the palace as Milliora’s maid. When my brother Orl asked the Count to send his daughter, he brought the illegitimate child instead. Milliora ruined the room.”

“...”

“When my brother called the Count in, he said, ‘I brought my daughter in as you commanded.’ Hahaha!”

Locard had no answer, but Grayon said happily.

“He said he wanted the competition to be fair, so he brought a child who had studied on her own and completed the level of the Imperial Academy.”

Grayon imitated the Count’s monotonous speech.

“‘The other daughter is still in her first year at the Academy and is not fit to assist Her Highness in the competition.’”

Locard put the book down on the table. His face was unsmiling.

‘Is Count Loire distancing himself from the First Prince?’

Anyone who heard this news could not help but ask.

Grayon shook his head, laughing like a child planning mischief.

“That doesn’t mean the Count is choosing me. He’s just trying to be neutral. But it won’t seem that way. Most people will think that the third lion has rejected my brother.”

Locard’s silence seemed to indicate agreement, but Grayon knew that his mind was elsewhere.

Grayon stared at Locard and said,

“How dare the Count bring an illegitimate child into the royal family’s immediate vicinity? To expose his own shame to the world. I saw him again.”

“I’ll leave for a moment.”

Locard left Grayon’s bedroom with a stern face.

He walked down the palace corridors without knowing how he felt. It was only when he walked through the palace gardens that he deliberately passed by that he realized how angry he was.

‘I’m not joking!’

To Locard, Lorisha Loire was a jar of money that he had secretly buried in a corner of the garden. It was a precious emergency fund that he could take out in an emergency.

The comment he once gave her, ‘If you ask me, I’ll do it,’ was the best compliment he could give her.

In fact, he had been secretly waiting for the competition to start so that he could get a chance to draw her in.

But now that she had become a maid of the royal family, he would no longer be able to ask for her help, and the secret of the past incident involving the Second Prince might even be in danger.

The First Prince had secretly dug up his yard and stolen the precious jar. And then he just threw it on the street.

“The Princess’s palace!”

Princess Milliora would not know her worth, and even if she did, she would not have any intention of using her. Lorisha’s value was practically gone the moment she was assigned to the Princess’s palace.

The only good thing was that the First Prince did not use his precious emergency fund himself, but Locard had a hard time calming down his bitter feelings.

The resentment welling up in his chest was so great that he even hated Lorisha.

She must have known what it meant to be the Princess’s maid, but how could she have bitten it so hard?

‘Where would you put that temper of yours?’

However, if you asked her if she had made that choice of her own free will, it would have been difficult to say yes. The memory of her working at the herbal medicine shop, looking happy, actually made him feel sorry for her.

“Haa...”

Locard washed his face dry to suppress his emotions.

He couldn’t help but think of her face happily breaking jars in Whined's laboratory as he looked at the Third Palace building in the distance.

***

“Are you crazy? Are you crazy? Bring me the person who thought this!”

“Your Highness...”

“What? ...Only! What! Why do I have to lower my voice?”

On the other side of the door, Her Highness Princess Milliora was in the middle of her rampage. I couldn’t even hear the bewildered voice of the man talking to her.

Oh no, I have to be careful with my speech if I’m going to live in the palace from now on.

‘Her Highness Princess Milliora is in a bad mood. Very much.’

Soon, there was the sound of something colliding and breaking. Her Highness was throwing something.

However, this was a very familiar situation to me. I had seen Misha act like this just a few days ago.

There was no doubt that Misha was having a hard time adjusting to the Academy. The fact that she had become sharper and more vicious recently, and the fact that she had been acting like she owned the position of maid, seemed to suggest that.

She must have thought of this place as an honorable escape from the academy, but if she had seen this right now, she would have given up on that idea immediately.

Anyway, from my perspective, Her Highness the Princess's scream was cute. It's a shame that my illusions about the royal family have been shattered.

Who would have thought that the Tagar royal daughter's hair would be this messed up?
