TPITT - Chapter 240

“What the hell is going on!”

The Emperor's wrath shook the throne room. Marquis Belteor crouched on the floor before the furious King Desmond II.

“You can’t even rule the South, so how can you stick your head into the central government? Get out of the South right now! Don’t even come near the Imperial Palace until this is resolved!”

“Yes, yes, Your Majesty!”

The murderous atmosphere in the audience room was so thick that it was hard to breathe. Marquis Belteor leaned back, glad to be kicked out.

But then the chamberlain whispered something unusual to Desmond II.

“Your Majesty, Lord Antonio Belteor is outside right now..."

Shudder.

Marquis Belteor shivered with foreboding.

Why is the name of the third son of my family being mentioned in this unpleasant atmosphere?

“What?! To Eve?!”

Marquis Belteor froze and hiccupped at Desmond II's sudden shout. He glanced up to examine Desmond II's face, not knowing whether he could go out or not.

“Eek!”

Sure enough, Desmond II was there, glaring at him with a ferocious expression as if he was going to tear him apart.

“How on earth do you educate your children?!”

“Your, Your, Your, Your Majesty...?”

“How dare the Marquis’s son look at both sides of the luggage while leaving the luggage with my daughters?!”

“Huh?!”

It was a startling sound. While Marquis Belteor was panicking, Desmond II gritted his teeth and shouted.

“You dare to insult the royal family, and I will never forgive you! Listen up! I, the 16th Emperor, Desmond Dominiccallisto Hadelamide!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

Everyone in the audience room knelt on one knee and bowed.

Marquis Belteor also knelt down and bowed his head even more amid his confusion.

Desmond II said.

“The marriage between the Third Princess and Antonio Belteor is broken off, and for the next ten years, both direct and collateral lines of Belteor are banned from entering the palace!”

Due to the strict imperial decree, Antonio's path to marriage and his path to politics after Belteor were blocked.

Tak.

Graceful fingers pushed and knocked over a miniature green perfume bottle.

It was shaped like a rook among chess pieces.

Eve smiled at the fallen look.

“The end of Belteor.”

Marquis Belteor lost his ability to participate in central politics, and his connection with Brigitte through a political marriage was also severed. They did not even break up cleanly but rather became bitter enemies.

Brigitte is proud and cruel. She couldn't just sit still after finding out that her fiancé had left her for Eve
.
Meanwhile, Brigitte had been providing Belteor with townhouses and warp portals to help him live comfortably in the capital through Lamekal.

However, when their relationship went sour, Brigitte took all of those things away from Belteor. As a result, Belteor was forced to return to the south, humiliated as if he had been kicked out of the capital.

'I'm satisfied.'

Eve's gaze shifted towards the pale yellow bishop.

“Now all that’s left is the Lamekal.”

Eve teased it, then moved her fingertips to find her next target.

What she caught was a pink king.

“And Brigitte.”

After staring at the miniature perfume bottle in her hand for a long time, two strong arms gently wrapped around Eve from behind. Soon, a light kiss touched her cheek.

In the mirror, a couple was reflected, affectionately rubbing each other's cheeks.

“You look happy, Eve.”

“One annoying bug disappeared.”

“I see.”

“Michael looks happy, too.”

“For removing an imperial candidate from his family.”

At those words, Eve let out a small laugh.

When Michael pretended to be serious and narrowed his eyes, Eve spoke to him as if to soothe him.

“I never intended to have Michael fight with him in the first place.”

“Is it possible?”

“I won’t make Michael the Emperor.”

It was when Michael's shoulders flinched. Eve had not finished speaking yet.

“It should be the store rather than the husband.”

"...Ah."

Michael found it funny that he had been so nervous for a moment.

“You only tell me what I want to hear.”

“Then give a reward to those lips that only say pretty words.”

“Even those words just now... How do you know that they’re the words I want the most right now?”

Michael brought his face closer, thinking that it was inevitable that he would fall for Eve at this point.

It was the very moment when their soft lips were about to be stamped like a seal, proving their ownership of each other.

Knock knock!

An urgent knock interrupted Eve and Michael's cozy moment.

'No, what! I took care of Antonio too, why again! What again!'

Eve puffed out her cheeks without realizing it, and Cedella shouted from across the door.

“Your Highness! I will go in.”

“Cedella?”

It was the first time Eve had seen Cedella act so recklessly. While Eve was blinking, the door opened, and Cedella announced.

“Your Highness, Baron Alben Linus requests an urgent audience.”

“Your Highness!”

Even Cedella had already accompanied Alben.

By this point, it was clear that something very serious had happened.

“What on earth is going on?”

“Your Highness, that is...!”

What followed was truly shocking.

“The seal of the Demon Dragon Ambroxa has been released! It is said to be currently flying towards the Eternal City, destroying the West!”

A fatal variable has occurred in this life.

***

Disaster struck. Desmond II immediately went into wartime mode and called an emergency meeting. An unprecedented meeting was held with over a hundred people gathered together.

“Don’t rush.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Eve was also called. She quickly crossed the hallway, accompanied by Michael, Alben, and Anais.

The conference room door opened.

“The 7th Princess, Her Highness Evienrose Chloelle Hadelamide.”

As soon as the door gap opened, the nobles who had been filling the seats all bowed to her.

But the aligned appearance only lasted for a moment. They continued what they were doing.

That was exactly what they were fighting among themselves.

“Oh my! A demon dragon! A demon dragon is flying towards the Yellow Road!”

“Are you sure you’re on the right path? Are you really coming to the capital?”

“That question is the fifth time. The ivory tower says the zodiac is correct.”

“Then how can’t you guide them to another region? Let them pass through here and send them to the east! Or you can turn them to the south...!"

“Me too! You can say such nonsense just because your territory is in the north?! Are you out of your mind?”

“Why are you so angry? I was just saying that because the Imperial City is the center of the Empire!”

Even the nobles, who were the leaders, were confused and anxious at the sudden outbreak of disaster.

“Why on earth was Ambroxa’s seal broken?!”

“That’s right! Didn’t the Princesses who went on a mission last time confirm the seal?!”

It was too sudden a disaster to be accepted as mere fate.

Eve bit her lip. In fact, she had wondered how Ambroxa could wake up as soon as she heard the news.

'The seal was definitely complete.'

Eve could not have done anything carelessly. Nevertheless, it was Michael who gave her a convincing explanation for what had happened.

"It seems that Ambroxado has become stronger during his two lives and the seal has been released."

It meant that something happened because of regression.

It was at that time that Eve felt a heavy sense of responsibility.

“Her Royal Highness Brigitte Agnes Hadelamide, Third Princess.”

Eve looked back at the doorway. Brigitte was entering the conference room, leading Elijah, Marquis Lamekal, and Count Fritz.

Their eyes met. It would be a shame to pass by without saying a word, so Brigitte whispered softly next to Eve.

“It’s also good to achieve a quick victory by establishing military merits.”

“I guess this situation seems like an opportunity to you, sister.”

“Then it’s my chance. It seems luck is on my side.”

Brigitte, who was deeply mistaken, passed by, smiling proudly.

Everyone took their seats in the arena, which resembled a circular grandstand. Desmond II appeared shortly thereafter.

“His Majesty the Emperor enter!”

“Blessings and glory to the sun of Hadelamide!”

Desmons II raised his hand and made everyone sit back down.

“Let’s start the meeting right away.”

Sir Isidore, who served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Guard and the Master of Cavalry, reported on the situation.

“A report came in three hours ago that the first sighting of the dragon was in the Parnes Estate adjacent to the Gray Wall, and reports came in that the Garcian Estate and Samoth Estate were attacked by the dragon. We are currently unable to contact any of the Estates that reported the news.”

The era of peace was very long. The powerful military was concentrated only in the imperial capital where the emperor was, and the nobles were strictly limited in the number of knights and private soldiers.

Even so, the army of homunculus that could deal with the dragon was monopolized only by the Emperor, so it was impossible to respond to the sudden appearance of the dragon.

'So, the situation where the dragon passes through will be very dire.'

Eve's fist on her knee tightened.
