TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 101

It felt like a huge boulder was crashing over him.

A veiny line stood over the back of Silva's leash hand. Medea strained her hips.

He was an enemy, but he was also a husband who had lived with him all his life.

So now, Medea, just by noticing Jason's presence in this Dark Forest, she was able to see through his intentions.

She doesn't know where Jason is going, or what he's after.

And what he hopes for.

The beautiful mouth is twisted.

'Jason. Jason.'

You stupid man.

Do you think you can commit that sin and still have me?

Even after realizing all the past, do you dare, to lend me forgiveness?

"And by decapitating the evil dragon."

In her past life, he was only parasitized by Medea's schemes and efforts.

All the way through the rough forest, the rust that had never been disturbed burned fiercely.

"...We're going to go over that mountain."

Medea turned toward the expedition.

"Mountains? Didn't you say that today we are going down the ground and moving to the plains?"

"Plans have changed. Hurry up, we need to get to the canyon as soon as possible."

Her words were ambiguous.

"It looks like we're not the only ones targeting evil dragons in this forest."

"Yes? What the hell is the evil dragon... We don't know if other humans live today, and we say it's because of the oracle, but what do they want?"

It wouldn't have to be sacrificed to a dragon like this one.

"...Someone who must hold the glory."

Medea's face was as cold as a tee.

Remembering her past life, Jason seems to want to regain his crown.

I don't think so.

I don't know if it's a coffin for him.

Medea's expedition moved even faster.

The crew realized for themselves that the harsh days they had spent in the Ebon Forest had been relatively relaxed.

Medea, with minimal rest, kept the expedition moving.

It was deeper and steeper, but they could tell it was a shortcut because the terrain changed quickly.

The deeper they went, the more often they encountered demons.

However, Medea forbade the expedition to go out in person from now on citing the need to conserve strength.

Instead, they used tools or poison to eliminate or move the demons.

"It even seems like she's sending them away on purpose."

Gallo sneaked a whisper to Cesare.

"Her Highness the Princess ordered the Falcon to throw it in the southeast of the forest."

He showed him a bag of blue poison buttercup juice.

"A few days ago, it was holly spores. I wondered why the Madwolves were suddenly moving frantically in that direction, and the spores exploded."

Gallo later learned that the holly spores were a staple food for the Madwolves and that they had the characteristic of drawing out their rabid instincts.

It's been many days since he fulfilled Medea's "special commission".

Gallo came to a certain conclusion.

"So I was convinced. Her Highness is now making sure that someone on the other side of the forest is stopped..."

Not. Gallo paused.

He only chooses the best beasts that threaten his life, and the word "stop" may be too weak.

"You want to get rid of it. But you know what? Who's that?"

Gallo pulled out a half-torn piece of cloth.

"The falcon came with it. It was Jason Castullo over there."

The coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Castulo was half-torn before his eyes.

"I thought he had come out of the abyss and disappeared somewhere, but I didn't know he was heading here into the canyon... How did he know that? Could it be that he's going to go beyond the forest and aim for the evil dragon in the canyon like us...?"

They can understand Medea's decision to break through the forest in this way.

"He's even going to face the mutants on a fictitious day, but he's still alive. As you know, this is not a place where you can survive without prior knowledge."

In other words, Jason is also heading to the canyon, avoiding the many traps and variables scattered in this forest.

Just like Medea.

"..."

The Princess of Valdina and the Grand Duke of Katzen.

The trajectories of the two people, who do not overlap at all, are interlocking as one in this expedition.

It's as if they're sharing space and time with each other.

Cesare's graceful brow was unpleasantly distorted.

He picked up a piece of cloth stamped with Castullo's crest, which had been torn half-torn.

Loose pieces of precariously colored threads hid pathetically from his hands.

Cesare remembered Medea's face as the shadows settled.

He had seen the moment when her still shabby face was occasionally soaked with skepticism of infatuable depth.

Every once in a while, that hard, ironclad composure crumbles.

"...Boss?"

And Cesare unexpectedly understood.

In those rare moments when Medea lost her composure, Jason was always there.

His reason spoke.

The medium that stimulates Medea's trauma may be Jason himself.

"I'm not going to be fooled again. Jason, never again...!"

That is to say, which Cesare does not know.

It meant that there was a cause and effect that could never be discovered by the power of the Facade in Medea and Jason.

He dropped a piece of cloth.

He smashed it deep into the muddy floor with his foot.

His handsome face took on a more grim hue.

"When you send the Falcon, send this with you."

Cesare handed Gallo a grey pouch.

"This is a monster musk, isn't it?!"

Gallo looked inside the pocket and furrowed his brow.

"You want to sprinkle this together? Then all the demons in the forest will be clinging to them, right?"

When the monster wave occurred, it was a synthetic musk developed by the Katzen Imperial Family to gather and suppress the scattered hordes of demon beasts.

"But he's a blood relative, and you're going to bury him alive in this forest?"

As If it wasn't even worth answering, Cesare dully spun the dagger. Gallo scratched his head.

"I don't know why the boss is so grumpy all of a sudden."

Your Highness the Princess, do you know this?

Gallo felt some sympathy for Jason, who was driven to death by the unprovoked whims of his lord.

Chua!

At that moment, the devil's vine that had been targeting them burst out of the mud. At this point, he rushed at him, sharpening his thorns.

Cesare's rare move was to raise his sword himself.

The ferocious vines were cut down and fell to the ground.

"It's ugly."

Rubbing with an old kite.

But the fragments of the vine that had fallen into the mud still wriggled as if they were alive.

It's ugly and dirty, but it's sure to stick together again.

...

A few days later.

The edge of the dense forest snapped off as if it had been cut off. Then, where the ground cracked, a huge canyon appeared.

"Here we are, at last."

The steep cliffs were twisted and twisted as if they had melted away in the flames.

The river between the canyons had long since dried up without a stream of water.

Small, blackened pebbles lined with broken weapons and charred bones.

As they kept going, it wasn't hard to spot sharp claw marks deep into the rocks

It was a trace of the fierce battle left by the humans who had been to this canyon.

"It's too quiet."

D'Angel's low whisper was particularly loud.

Still, the canyon was breathtakingly silent.

As if to warn him not to be overly vigilant, the clear sky and the occasional cool breeze on his cheeks felt peaceful.

At that moment.

A black shadow obscured the sky in an instant.

The evil dragon spread its wings and passed over the expanse where the expedition was.

For a split second, the members of the expedition hid behind a boulder, looking at each other and adjusting their weapons.

There was tension in the silence.

"That, that... Evil Dragon..."

Tom swallowed involuntarily.

It was a long way away, but as soon as he saw the evil dragon spreading its enormous wings, it felt like an invisible weight was pressing down on his entire body.

Humans and demons were tangled together, impaled by the evil dragon's sharp claws.

Every time it flaps its wings,

Tuduk, Tuduk-

One by one severed limbs and shapeless corpses fell to the bottom of the canyon.

The evil dragon did not go hungry.

This was just a brutal slaughter for amusement.

"Do you remember them all?"

Even as the men frowned, Medea's eyes didn't fall from the evil dragon like a beast chasing its prey.

"The evil dragon entraps those who touch its shadow and exudes venom."

Medea's voice was pure and dignified.

"So be careful not to step into the shadows."

Her eyes without fear or hesitation inspired confidence in the hearts of the expedition members.

Victory would be in her hands at the end of her stop. Just like she had shown so far

And...

"Operation begins."

After a short breath, the expedition members sneaked out across the canyon.

Each of them had bows on one arm, and the oiled arrowheads were accompanied by Terence's magic formula.

"Silva, are you ready?"

Smoothing Silva's white mane, Medea asked.

The clever Silva hissed and rubbed his nose over her shoulder.

At that moment, Medea felt a hand on her wrist. It was a Cesare.

When Medea offered to become the bait of the evil dragon, everyone was against it

But only Cesare supported her to carry out her plan with a nonchalant face.

"I'll be behind."

A low, deep voice with no shaking.

For a moment, there was a lingering feeling that seemed to make her forget the reality of the evil dragon in front of her.

"So don't be afraid."

Their eyes met.

Unlike in her previous life, when she had carried the fate of the expedition alone, Medea was unfamiliar with the fact that there was someone who wanted to protect her.

Still, for some reason, one side of her chest felt strangely resonant.

"I'm not afraid."

But Medea struck back.

"If I bring the evil dragon here, be prepared to decapitate him."

"As the Princess commands."

Cesare smiled faintly, squeezing her wrist a little tighter, then slowly letting go.

Medea kicked the stirrup.

She quickly drove Silva into the middle of the dragon's flight path.
