MWTB - Chapter 69

"Yes, at this rate. You just need to learn how to implement your own formulas. Now you can control your mana as long as you concentrate your mind!"

Pal jumped and he planned the next step in training.

Today was the third day of Julia's magical training in the Magic Tower.

In the meantime, Julia had learned the basics of magic, and she was immediately put into practice and began to put magic into action.

Surprisingly, the magic was different from before, when it was ferocious. She had someone to help her, so she didn't go berserk again.

Pal examined the ring, and kept it to himself, saying she wouldn't need it anymore. He taught her how to control the magic completely.

It usually takes a novice mage a year to learn how to control mana, but Julia succeeded in two days.

This had fueled his excitement and he had even taught her his own formulas, teaching her the essential high-ranking spells once in a while.

"Yes, let's do the next spell!"

"Yes, yes."

Basic magic uses common formulas as found in the spell book, but higher-level magic requires you to come up with your own formula based on the basics.

So, even if the amount of horsepower is usually great, it takes a lot of time to get to the top. This is because it requires a period of cultivation of formulas.

"Hey, this is a new formula, isn't it? How did you come up with this?

But Julia managed to make her own. Understanding the necessary complex formulas at once.

This was due to her natural talent and the number and calculation she had mastered delicately during her 12 years as Crown Princess and Queen.

"Ah, Pal, it's so embarrassing that you don't have to compliment me that much..."

"What? How could you be so heartless! It's been nearly 100 years since I've found a favorite apprentice!"

She whined that Pal was too much. Julia, who had been cautiously trying out the new formula, blushed and quickly soothed him.

"You're a real genius. Do you think this is easy just because you're good at math?! It's rare to find a wizard who knows the ins and outs of his magic so well. What the hell did you do, huh?"

"Well, you just do it... right?"

Julia scratched her cheek after making a statement that would anger students around the world. But it was real.

If there was even a slight deviation in the formula, the magic power would be stiff and tingling. With the right formula, the magic flowed fluidly and smoothly through the veins of her body. It was almost Instinctive.

"Look at it! You've always had a body that's sensitive to magical powers, and a good head is a bonus!"

For a man who had lived for more than a century. Julia was the perfect and promising talent. Pal burned with greed, trying to seduce Julia.

"If you come to me, I'll take care of you. What do you like? Garden? Gem? I'll give you the key to my jewelry cellar Julia! I'll carve out an ice mountain and make a whole private garden. How's that? There's everything in the Magic Tower!"

"She doesn't have one."

"Ugh!"

Pal squawked and jumped in surprise. Endymion blinked and nonchalantly hugged Julia from behind.

"Temptation is a breach of contract, Magic Tower."

"I'm surprised! Anyway, you look like a ghost."

Pal grunted as they brushed against his chest. Then he found Endymion embracing Julia and Julia casually trimming his disheveled hair.

"Today's sparring is over quickly, isn't it?"

"Yes, because the wizard begged me to take a break."

Endymion said, resting his chin on Julia's shoulder. Behind him, he could see an exhausted Boris sprawled out.

Endymion glanced at him and whispered something to Julia. Julia's eyes widened and she smiled brightly.

"Hey, get away now! This is disorderly!"

His cheeks are swollen and his arm rushed in. Sandwiched between them like hamsters, they had no choice but to separate.

"Don't you know that contact between members of the opposite sex is forbidden in the Magic Tower? He's still taking special care of me!"

Pal said solemnly. Endymion folded his arms leisurely as he looked down at the Maltese-sized horse tower in front of the big dog,

"Are you jealous?"

"What is jealousy!"

"Then why are you calling me here every day, but not letting me reach you? Maybe you want to show off that you're closer than me."

"Well, there's a reason for that! Anyway, you're jealous of me now!"

Pal clung to Julia. And as he squeezed his hand as if to raise his hand, Endymion's eyebrows twitched.

"Break over! Go and sparring with Boris."

Endymion was sparring with Boris while she practiced magic. As a swordsman, he is trained to exploit the mage's loopholes and attack and defend himself.

Thanks to his immense stamina and swordsmanship. Endymion was fine, but Boris was already on the verge of exhaustion.

Boris made an X with his arms, but he ignored them neatly and smiled.

"If you don't go now, they won't let you hold your hand tomorrow?"

At the sight of the Magic Tower's tyranny. Endymion turned away, his face crumpled.

The training lasted another three hours and then ended. Pal said that the progress was faster than he expected, and he was excited to come up with a plan for the in-depth lessons.

Julia decided to have dinner with Endymion, Pal, and Boris later and went back to her room.

"I'm glad I was able to keep up."

Julia kneaded her stiff shoulders and lifted the corners of her mouth slightly. It was her first time learning and she was running out of time, so she was a little worried.

"Of course, I think it's a big thing that I was born with."

She had a lot of innate magical power, so no matter what she did, it seemed to work much better. Mathematical calculations are secondary.

Julia, who tends to be lenient with others but strict with herself, is seriously considered.

"Is it so easy to get? It will be rewarding if you think hard and put in the effort."

If Boris had heard, he would have hit the ground and cried.

Julia, who was a little naive, turned Into the hallway with such a naive thought

"That's not true, Essie."

Helen's voice was heard. Julia was turning the corner of the hallway, which had just turned, and stopped in her tracks.

"What's not?"

It was accompanied by a strange woman's voice. He was probably standing in the hallway in front of Julia's room.

But for some reason, both of them had an unusual tone. Instinctively, she thought that if she showed up here, all three of them would be in trouble.

Julia stood still, carefully concealing herself, peeking out her eyes through the wall.

"That's your job. Why are you asking me to do it for you for no reason?"

"I told you there was a reason. I'm supposed to be in Hamas' lab all day."

"No. I mean, you just have to do all the work before then. It's not like you called me out of the blue. I'm going at the same time every day, so why are you suddenly putting things off for me these days?"

Helen and a woman named Essie were arguing. Essie appeared to be dressed and of the same age as Helen. It was probably the same magic tower maid.

"It's hard to clean the hallways. I'm going to do something more important than these little things."

"Ugh. It's trivial, so you can do it yourself. It only takes 20 minutes to use the hallway here?"

"I'm sorry, but I need to go to Hamas as soon as possible. You do the work for me."

Essie smirked as she swept through her dark curly blond hair. In Julia's eyes, she could only see in profile, but she was as gorgeous as a rose and as sharp as a thorn.

"Hah... Ok. Then I'll do it for you until today. From tomorrow, you'll allocate my time well, finish your work, and go take care of yourself."

In the end, the kind-hearted Helen folded her hand and tried to end the argument. But Essie untied her apron and threw it away, raising the corners of her mouth.

"Well. I'm going to have to do it in the future. I'm going to be a wizard soon."

Julia tilted her head, wondering if she should leave or not.

What do you mean?

Magic tower maidens have no magical power or only a small amount, so they are not qualified to be mages.

Helen said in passing that if you stay in the magic Tower for a long time, your magical affinity will increase, and you may awaken as a mage.

But that's something that happens in adolescence before adulthood, so it's impossible for the current handmaidens who are already well past their age.

"Stop bluffing. Do you think that's a justifiable reason for dereliction of duty? If you keep doing this... report it to your superiors."

"Didn't you hear about me?"

Essie replied kindly. Her voice was unmistakably confident and arrogant.

Julia blinked in a strange sensation while Helen paused to see if she felt the same way.

"It's a secret, but it's true. I'm going to wake up this year, and then maybe you'll have to wait on me. Shouldn't you look good to me in the future?"

Essie spoke softly and held out her palms. Then, to my surprise, a small flickering red flame flew out and disappeared.

"Uh... How."

Helen was quite shocked to think that the rumors were inflated. Essie let out a bewitching laugh as if she was finally satisfied.

"It's all thanks to our great Hamas. So you're better at me than the rootless wizard you're serving now. Maybe not? Maybe I'll wake you up, right?"

Wasn't it Helen's lifelong dream to be a wizard?

Stunned by shock and deprivation. Helen could only clutch Essie's apron tightly and say nothing.

"Then I'm done. Oh boy! I'll be back tomorrow morning, so I'll finish my laundry."

Essie said with a sly grin and disappeared into the opposite hallway with another screeching shoe.

"...My god. It's real, how can you do that?"

It took a few minutes after Essie was gone before Helen came to her senses. Helen muttered in a blank voice, and she looked depressed, wondering if she was deprived.

Helen silently adjusted her outfit and began to move to take Essie's work.

"...Awakening."

Julia, who had inadvertently overheard the whole situation, was lost in thought. It was serious, but the time it took was surprisingly short.

Julia swooped forward, seeing Helen approaching her.

"Helen?"

"Mama..."

Helen screamed and kicked her ass. Julia smiled embarrassedly and held out her hand.

"Oh, you were a wizard! Ugh, when did you come?"

"Would you like to talk to me for a minute?"

***

Brilliant.

A light knock echoed in the hallway. Essie waited for a moment, adjusting her outfit. Then.

Click.

The lock unlocked and the door opened. Essie hurried inside, her dark curly blond hair hanging over one shoulder.

Tak.

"Hamas?"

As soon as Essie closed the door, she happily called the owner of the room. Complex magic tools and experimental machines filled the large but chilly room, and the voices echoed.

Again and again.

"It's loud."

A pint flew from where the crammed experimental tools had been placed.
