ASP - Chapter 67 < Courtship (3) >

“...!”

Liene almost lost her breath.

“What... you didn’t sleep?”

"Yes."

In the darkness, the pale eyes that looked even clearer stared at Liene. Like a wild beast looking at its prey, with a gaze that did not waver at all.

“The Princess is awake too.”

“I... couldn’t sleep.”

“I understand that.”

...Yeah, since I can’t sleep, I’ll probably come to someone else’s room at this hour and peek at their face.

Liene hid her troubled expression and measured the distance to the door. She should run away before he ask why she came. Since she has nothing to say in return.

“Excuse me. Okay, that’s all.”

Liene tried hard to leave the room as if nothing had happened, but it was no use.

“Why did you bring a blanket?”

"Yes, yes?"

She had completely forgotten. Just like he did, she had thought of sleeping soundly next to him and brought a blanket.

“Oh, it’s nothing... I was just worried that it might be cold at night. I might not have a blanket.”

...What the hell am I talking about? Why isn’t there a blanket? That guy is covering himself up with that isn’t a blanket, is it a carpet?

“I woke you up with needless worry. I’ll go back.”

“Is that what you want to do, Princess?”

Black sat up in bed. The hem of the blanket that had been covering him fell down, revealing the robe he wore in bed. To her embarrassment, it was not tied. Liene desperately held her breath, fearing that he might hear her swallowing.

“I was worried... so I said goodbye.”

“Are you done worrying?”

“I think so...”

“Yes, do whatever you want.”

The man who seemed to be lying down and sleeping as if nothing had happened was just sitting and looking at Liene...

What do I want to do now? If I go back like this, I probably won’t be able to sleep. He’ll probably be asleep, too, listening. And tomorrow morning, it’ll be awkward, and I won’t be able to make eye contact. I’ll miss him more than tonight.

“...If it’s okay, could you move a little bit?”

As if it wasn't difficult, he shifted his body to the side. An empty space appeared on the bed. As if telling her to come and lie down.

“No, not that way, the other way.”

“Are you sure?”

"Yes."

Black, who had moved to the edge of the bed, moved back to the center of the bed. Liene nodded as she eyed the remaining space next to him.

“I’ll sleep here too. I can’t sleep alone.”

“...if you want.”

Liene picked up the blanket and climbed onto the bed where Black was lying. The space was cramped because of the large man lying in the middle. That was fortunate. It gave her an excuse to stay close to him. As Liene rustled and lay down next to him, Black tilted his head and met her eyes.

“Do you want to sleep like this?”

The moment they laid side by side in bed and locked eyes was like a magic that stopped time. Liene looked at Black without even realizing that she was licking her lips.

"Yes."

“It must be narrow.”

“It’s better than having too much.”

“...”

For a moment, she thought Black's breathing had become rough.

“Is there anything else you want to do?”

There were a lot.

“If that’s the case, is it okay to do that?”

“How about giving them one by one?”

Liene's eyes shook wildly.

“What do you know... what I can do?”

What do you want to do with me?

“I don’t think it’s a bad thing... Am I wrong?”

You, what you're doing could be bad for me, just like what you did in the bathroom just now.

“Then let’s decide not to do anything bad to each other.”

"... Great."

He answered after slightly frowning for some reason.

“Princess, you go first.”

"Hmm..."

What should I choose?

Of all the thoughts that came to mind while lying together like this. Liene reached out and placed her hand on Black's face. Her fingers moved carefully, as if playing an instrument, tracing his skin.

“Is this what you want to do?”

As he said this, Black lowered his head and brought his face closer to her.

“Yes. Because it’s the first thing I can do. How about Lord Tiwakan?”

“I have this.”

Black reached out and pushed Liene's hair back, revealing the neckline and shoulders that her hair had previously hidden.

“I want to see the princess disheveled before my eyes.”

“...”

Before she could even comprehend the meaning, Liene gulped as she felt that it was extremely lewd.

“What's next?”

Black asked. The hand that had been running through her hair then rested on her shoulder.

“Next is... this.”

Liene lifted Black's hand that was gently pressing on her shoulder. However, it did not mean to stop touching her, but to raise hia arm. Liene pushed her body under Black's arm. Black looked down at Liene, who was pressed against his chest. Since she was wrapped up like a cat, all he could see was the top of her head. So, Liene could not see what kind of expression he was making. He clenched his teeth and held back the laughter that was about to burst out.

“This won’t do.”

“...Yes? Why?”

“Because it’s a bad thing.”

“Do you not like this?”

“Yes. It’s too tight.”

"Ah..."

...I’m fine. Do you not like this? It wasn’t like that before...

Liene hesitated and pulled away.

“It's my turn.”

Black reached out to the back of her neck from a distance where her face was visible.

Knock.

One of the buttons on her pajamas hanging on her back was undone. That much skin was exposed, and the back of her neck felt cool.

“Oh, wait... Why is this...”

“I told you what I wanted to do.”

“Then it’s messy...”

“Isn’t that okay?”

“...”

She doesn't know. She wondered if it really wouldn't work. She gulped again.

Is this a bad thing?

“It’s my turn now.”

Liene didn't say no, she said she would do something else.

“Go ahead. Don’t get too close.”

“That’s a bit unfair.”

“If the Princess stays like you were just now, I won’t be able to do anything.”

“I can’t do it if you’re this far away.”

“What do you plan to do?”

"That..."

...A kiss. A kiss requires lips to be touching. Liene ignored Black’s words not to get too close and pulled his neck closer.

“If this is a bad thing, then tell me not to do it.”

Their lips touched. At that moment, Black rolled over while holding Liene. He swallowed her lower lip hastily, trapping Liene between the bed and his body. The arms holding him gained strength. When she swallowed her hectic breath, she could taste Black’s skin. The sound of him sucking her was terribly sweet. Strangely, she felt like crying.

What is this? You walked away as if this would never happen again. What is this?

In fact, it’s still the same. The kiss was like a wave. It kept pushing her somewhere. Her body felt like it was completely soaked in water, and she felt like she was floating away on the wind.

“...”

“...”

The crazy kiss lasted for a very long time. When their lips parted and they were out of breath, tears flowed down Liene's cheeks.

"...Why are you crying?”

Black seemed embarrassed and wrapped his arms around Liene. He pressed his lips to her ear and tried to comfort her.

“Don’t cry. What did I do wrong?”

“No, that’s not true...”

A sob burst out. Black froze beyond embarrassment. The smile he had on his face when Liene dug into his own body evaporated in an instant.

“Isn’t that what you actually wanted?”

“...?”

“Are you just trying to appease me by enduring something you don’t like?”

...? What does that mean?

“I told you not to do that. Do what the princess wants.”

Black released the arm that was wrapped around Liene.

“Get up. I’ll take you to your room.”

“What are you saying...?”

“You don’t like that either?”

What are you talking about, really? What did I do?

"No, I do not want."

“Then what should I do?”

“I said I won’t do it again... ever again.”

"What."

“What happened earlier?”

Actually, you didn't get cold. The moment we kissed, it was the same. So you can get hot again. Don't get cold to me again. Until you know that I'm the daughter of your enemy.

“What did I do?”

Black's voice sounded rough, as if a layer had been peeled off.

“I didn’t even touch a single button.”

This guy doesn't even know what he's done.

“Other than that. It’s like pretending not to notice when I knock on the door.”

"...What?"

Then, the straight jawline became misaligned in an amusing way.

“What do you want me to not do?”

“You did it on purpose. On purpose... as if you didn’t like me.”

Thinking about it made Liene sad again.

“If you don’t really hate it, don’t pretend not to. That’s just... terrible.”

She now knew why she couldn't sleep. It wasn't because Black wasn't there but because she was hurt by what he did. She remembered him closing the door absentmindedly, avoiding eye contact. He turned away as if he would never see her again. That was just too... bad.

"Princess."

“...Phew.”

Liene gathered up the emotions that were about to spill out. Liene was not good at relying on someone emotionally. It seemed like she still had a lot of tears left to cry, but the habit that had become ingrained in her body forced her to cut off the feeling of wanting to cry.

“I wish Lord Tiwakan would think about the fact that I was hurt by something that happened in the bathroom, not something else. I don’t want to feel like I’ve been neglected by my fiancĂ©, if possible.”

Liene pretended to stroke her hair, rubbed her eyes with her sleeve, and then stood up.

“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep here either, so I guess I’ll go back now. Then, have a peaceful night... Ah.”

Her feet didn't get twisted. She didn't take a wrong step. Black just pulled her. He held Liene, whose upper body was leaning back, with one arm and lifted her body up by supporting her buttocks with the other arm.

“Please come down.”

Liene, who had been hugged by him in a panic, touched Black's shoulder.

“Why are you like this?”

“I’m afraid that if your feet touch it, you will go away.”

“...I should go to sleep. Me too, Lord Tiwakan too.”

“I know you won’t be able to sleep well.”

“What do you mean...”

“So, stop crying.”

"... Yes?"

“I don’t think you’ve cried enough yet. You’ll be able to sleep once you finish crying.”

...What the heck? It seemed like he was saying those words on purpose to make her cry.

"It's okay."

“It won’t be okay.”

“No. It’s okay...”

“The Princess often did that to me, too.”

“...? What?”

“The act of ignoring.”

"...No."

“Don’t evade it. It’s true.”

“When did I ...”

“Do you remember pushing me away because I wasn’t good enough?”

“I said there was a reason for that...”

“Did I have no reason?”

...Yeah. That’s the problem.

“Why did you do that?”

“Because I want to know.”

Black bit his lower lip weakly as he got to eye level with Liene, whom he was holding in his arms.

“Why couldn’t you just ask?”

“It was the Princess who did not answer even when I asked.”

“When did you ask? What did you ask?”

The feeling of being bitten lightly between words was erotic. Liene's fingers that were resting on Black's shoulder kept getting stronger.

“Are you asking me to believe that you ruined it because you thought the clothes didn’t suit me?”

“...”

When Liene couldn't speak, Black bit his lip harder this time.

“If you don’t want to talk, you don’t have to. I’ll let that slide. But I won’t compromise on anything else.”

“What else... is there?”

“I told you to cry more.”

Black, who had intentionally made a bite mark, gently rubbed it with his lips.

“That’s true. Cry more. Judging from the way you’re saying that, it seems like the Princess has never cried properly before.”

“What’s the point of crying? It’s not a good thing.”

“Did you hate me because I pretended not to know?”

“...”

Those words stabbed at a sensitive spot that had barely calmed down. The tears that she thought had stopped flowing again as if it were a lie...

Why on earth am I like this?

“If you knew that... then you shouldn’t have done that... right?”
