THIBV - Chapter 147

Isaac wanted to see Eleanor.

But then he remembered how he had finally scolded and chased Eleanor away.

He sent his mother away without any mercy, saying that she was talking badly about his son.

He chased her away as if she were a criminal, holding onto his trouser leg and hanging on.

"Ugh, if I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have sent her like that."

Isaac scratched her head.

He was distressed at the thought that even Eleanor might treat him coldly.

In fact, the most painful thing was that whenever he went to see his mother, he had to face his younger brother.

It was horrible to think of bowing down to his younger brother and begging him to accept him like this.

'No matter what. I still have the pride of being the eldest son.'

The place Isaac eventually headed to was the royal palace.

"Let's meet my wife, Bridget, one last time. Yes? I'm asking you this."

"Oh, I told you it's difficult. I told you last time it was the last one."

"That's right. When I asked Bridget for permission back then, didn't she let me in? This time, she'll definitely let me in! Send someone!"

"This time, you don't even have a palace pass!"

"Everyone knows who I am, so what kind of pass is this?"

The commotion was so intense that the captain of the palace guard came out and stopped Isaac.

Isaac was desperate.

The guards were in a difficult position because they knew his identity.

'Why do you keep showing up like that and trying to enter the palace?"

Divorce papers had been exchanged but had not yet been formally approved.

The world still called Bridget Viscountess Winston.

The commander had no choice but to send a soldier to Bridget.

But this time, the answer he got was rejection.

"What? Bridget said she wouldn't see me?"

It was Leticia who came to deliver Bridget's answer.

She could have just sent a soldier to do it, but Leticia insisted on going and delivering the message herself.

She said she couldn't bother the soldiers every time because Isaac kept coming back without dying.

Leticia wondered about what Bridget had said about Isaac's self-destruction.

She was curious about the soldier's words, saying that he had just brought a bag of money yesterday but had come back looking like a beggar again, and she wanted to take a look.

But now that she sees Isaac, she thinks Bridget was right.

"Then, what good would it be for her to want to see you when I'm getting a divorce?"

"I'm still the husband!"

"Why don't you go to His Majesty the King and make that argument?"

Leticia said in a teasing, teasing voice.

Isaac trembled.

"But why have you been acting so rude since last time? You're so fearless!"

"Me? I am the second daughter of Count Lunarock. If you have any complaints about me, go to the Lunarock family's jewelry store in Diamond Lane and cause a scene. Blame my father's poor upbringing."

Leticia hoped Isaac had the guts to do that.

Since she had become Bridget's obedient maid, there was no one to trouble Count Lunarock these days.

Every time she came home and ran into her father, she saw his expression getting better and better...

So, it would be nice if anyone could go and upset Count Lunarock, but unfortunately for Leticia, Isaac didn't have the guts to do that.

Because he was so intimidated when he found out that Leticia was the daughter of Count Lunarock.

"Uh, uh... Go tell Bridget that if she gives me a little more money, I won't come back. This time, for real."

"The shit dog keeps shitting. Tsk tsk."

Leticia muttered to herself.

Isaac ground his teeth.

'Ah. That woman who costs live silver coins."

Isaac, who had sold many children and women, naturally placed a value on Leticia's body. He even beat her up.

He was enjoying himself alone, imagining things he couldn't dare say out loud, and he let out a mean laugh.

Leticia was offended by that look and that smile.

"Miss Bridget spoke."

She emphasized the term 'Miss'.

If the divorce is approved, Bridget will no longer be Countess Winston but will once again be Countess Bridget Florence.

"I will chase him away with a whip so that he will never come near the palace again."

"What, what did you say?"

"But Miss Leticia, that person..."

The captain of the guard hesitated. Still, Isaac was a Viscount.

"The house of Winston is ruined. The House of Winston has been deemed unworthy of its titles by the House of Nobles and has been stripped of its titles."

Among the nobles below the rank of Viscount, the Council of Nobles had the authority to strip a noble of his title without going through the decision of the King, provided that he had no lands belonging to his family.

Of course, there were many clauses to prevent the arbitrary abuse of title revocation, but Isaac had enough problems to satisfy all of the conditions.

Isn't it the same even now?

There was no way that the snobbish nobles would allow someone who looked like a beggar and often made a funny face in such a crowded place to remain as a member of the nobility.

Isaac's commotion in front of the palace last time was a decisive factor in his being stripped of his title.

Even though it seemed like no one was watching, everyone coming and going from the palace was watching Isaac.

Leticia emphasized.

"She ordered him to be driven out firmly so as not to be a burden to the royal majesty."

The unit commander, who had become clear about his situation, now gave orders to his soldiers with a clear mind.

"Chase him away!"

Leticia watched Isaac being dragged away.

Every time he screamed and struggled, the soldiers raised their clubs.

After a couple of blows with the club, Isaac became quiet and was dragged across the square out of sight.

Isaac, who was kicked out, realized that he really had nowhere to go.

He wandered the back alleys of the capital for several days.

Seeing his shabby appearance, even the thugs no longer targeted him.

"Ahh... Where should I go?"

Now, he couldn't even tell if he was hungry or sick.

His whole body and mind were in pain.

Being in the capital, it was so painful to occasionally run into familiar faces.

He eventually decided to leave the capital and took a wagon ride out of the city.

The place he arrived at, by coincidence or not, was Stonehaven, where his business was located.

In just a few months, the appearance of Stonehaven had changed a lot.

After Julian placed a women's education center and orphanage under the Royal Welfare Service, the women selling their bodies and the orphans begging in the back alleys of Stonehaven disappeared.

The sight of children working like slaves on the docks was also gone.

Security forces are on the front lines to crack down on illegal human trafficking.

As the police patrolled, the security of Stonehaven naturally improved, and the streets became cleaner.

The city came alive as people were able to move around safely.

The number of restaurants and handicraft shops doing business in the neighborhood has increased.

Tourists came by word of mouth, and bed and breakfasts were established.

It was a change that happened in just two seasons.

Human traffickers like Isaac could no longer remain in Stonehaven.

Isaac went looking for his old friends but realized that when he was kicked out, everyone else was kicked out, too.

"The good times are gone, gone. Ugh!"

When Julian wasn't around, it was easy to make money through bad deeds, but when he came along, everything changed.

Even Bridget was taken away by Julian.

Isaac cursed Julian.

Why did the world suddenly change like this? Why did my situation become like this?

Someone pretended to know him as he wandered around lamenting.

"Huh? You..."

"Huh?"

"Is that right? Viscount Isaac Winston."

"Uh!"

He thought all his friends had left, but there were still some people he knew.

They weren't close friends; they just knew each other by face.

He was surprisingly happy to see Isaac, but he clicked his tongue as if he knew what was going on after seeing Isaac's behavior.

"They're all ruined. They're all either in prison or have fled somewhere, and I don't know if they're alive or dead. But I thought you were doing well, Your Grace, since you had a title and a lot of wealth..."

Isaac was too busy eating the food he had bought for himself.

It's been a while since he's had a proper meal.

Isaac, who was so absorbed in his food, didn't notice the vulgar smile on his opponent's face.

"If you need any job recommendations, can I recommend one for you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"As you can see, there's a lot less manpower at the port these days, so they're looking for workers here and there."

“Ha!... I...”

Isaac was about to refuse immediately at the suggestion that he become a laborer, but then hesitated.

Now, he had nowhere to go and no one to ask for help.

If this continues, he'll have to beg on the street like a homeless person.

He didn't beg, but he was basically a beggar.

"...What's going on?"

"It's a job that requires you to get on a ship... The job itself won't be difficult. It's about managing the logistics on the ship. It's the second most important position after the captain and navigator."

Logistics management. Isaac's ears perked up at the mention that it was the second most important position after the captain and navigator.

"Isn't that pretty good?"

"Haha. Would I dare to recommend something so trivial to you?"

As soon as Isaac finished his meal, he went with the man to see the ship he would be working on.

The ship was ready to set sail.

The man spoke separately with the ship's manager and then told Isaac to come on board.

Isaac was a little confused by the sudden start of work, but he quickly got on board.

It was stupid.

"What are you standing there for? Can't you go down to the basement?"

The manager who gave the man the money immediately took out a whip and hit Isaac on the back.

When Isaac screamed and fell, he was beaten again to get up.

"Ouch! Hey! What the hell are you doing! I'm here as a logistics manager!"

"Stop talking nonsense and get down to the warehouse quickly!"

Isaac realized that he had been tricked.

The man sold Isaac into slavery on a merchant ship.

There are security forces in the port, but there are no security forces on board the ship.

The ship had already sailed, and the security forces were only watching to make sure no children were being brought on board illegally, and did not see the adult males who had come on their own as subjects to be rescued.

Isaac knew this situation well.

Since he had done this to orphans, he knew exactly what would happen to him.

The man who sold Isaac did not do this because he had a grudge against Isaac. He only sold him for a pittance.

Just like Isaac did to the orphans.

"Just work!"

The whip flew.

He ran down to the warehouse to avoid the hawk.

Now, he had a strong premonition that if he went down here, he would never see the sky again alive.

Isaac regretted his life, being beaten for no reason and working as a boatman.

He regretted every moment.

Until the day he died, all he could do was regret.
