IWLUBCD - Chapter 62

Ernest knew of a space in Sollerian that only the Emperor could enter.

The place is located in the inner palace of Sollerian. He planned to check it out one last time.

But before that.

“Going to Sollerian.”

He will go and see the face of that mean woman that the traitor is hiding so well.

And before leaving the palace, if he gets the chance, he will... that woman.

Ernest's eyes sparkled in the moonlight.

His bloodshot, red eyes were sparkling with vengeance.

***

The road to Sollerian was not that difficult.

Because if he uses the secret passage that only the Emperor and the Crown Prince know about, he can go anywhere in the palace without being discovered by anyone.

The problem came after entering the palace where the guards were stationed.

There were a few crises due to the larger-than-expected security force, but the two escaped safely and settled down in a secluded area.

“I think it’s that place...”

A small sponsorship in Sollerian.

The gazes of the two people hiding in the dark shadows of the forest were directed to the terrace of a room that was the only room with lights on.

“Except for the office where the traitor is supposed to be, that place is the only one that is particularly brightly lit.”

Cullen whispered so that only Ernest could hear.

The terrace of the room they were looking at had transparent curtains drawn so the interior could not be seen in detail, but it was clear that it was a woman's room.

Cullen let out a small sigh as he watched Ernest carefully looking into the room as if trying to check the woman's face.

What on earth are you doing here?

If the woman doesn't come out, he won't be able to see her face, let alone a single strand of hair.

But that doesn't mean he can just wait for the woman to come out.

Cullen tried to convince the Prince once again.

“Why don’t we just go now? We can’t just wait here.”

But it was when Cullen touched his forehead while looking at the man who was stubbornly staring at one place.

As if by magic, the terrace door opened and a woman walked out of the room.

“Your Highness! A woman has come out...!”

The joy of finally being able to end this anxious wait was short-lived.

Cullen's face hardened as he saw the face of the woman who appeared on the terrace.

And just like that, Ernest's face hardened as he stared at the woman's face.

“...Ellie?”

Am I dreaming?

Or is it just his delusion?

The woman who came out onto the terrace was definitely Ellie.

The red shawl is worn by Ellie over a thin chemise.

And the image of the hair wavy like sunlight above it was etched into his mind.

“Your Highness, could it be that that woman...”

Cullen must have been thinking the same thing as Ernest because his voice trembled.

It was a sure thing.

The woman's luscious blonde hair and heart-fluttering green eyes.

His heart beat like a drum.

It told him that the woman standing in front of him was the woman he loved.

Was alive.

Ellie was alive.

But the joy of finding out that Ellie, who was thought to be dead, was alive was short-lived.

A deeper question took hold in his mind.

'But how are you still alive?'

He clearly saw Ellie's body hanging in the square with his own eyes.

How on earth?

At a time when countless questions were constantly repeating in his head.

Soon a man appeared who would answer Ernest's questions.

A man walks out onto the terrace, pulling back the transparent curtains.

The man's face was one that Ernest also knew well.

'...Carsis.'

It was almost unrecognizable for a moment because of his disheveled black hair and the disparate colors visible through it, but it was definitely Carsis. But.

'Eye color...'

It was red.

It was a fiery red, more intense than the crimson eyes he possessed.

‘What the heck is this...’

The Carsis eyes he knew were a normal brown color.

It was a color that was so insignificant that you would run into dozens of people if you went out on the street right away.

Ernest's vision widened as he stared intently at Carsis' face.

Ellie, who was breathing in the night air with her luscious blonde hair hanging over one shoulder, and Carsis, who was naturally embracing her back and burying his face in the nape of her snow-white neck.

The two of them looked like an affectionate couple to anyone who saw them.

"Your Highness..."

Cullen, who had figured out the situation before Ernst, called him, but there was no answer.

Just looking at the affectionate couple on the terrace.

A woman smiles as she looks at a man burying his face in her neck.

And...

Kiss the man whose eyes she meets.

They devour each other, tilting their heads at an angle.

Swish.

As her movements became increasingly more intense, the shawl the woman was wearing fell to the floor.

At the same time, Ernest's heart also drops.

Into an abyss of unknown depth.

The rough movements of a man's hands that seemed like they were going to take off a woman's chemise, and the woman's breathing as if complying with him.

How much time has passed?

The two people who were entangled as if clinging to each other entered the room, and the light that had been illuminating the darkness went out.

Ernest's gaze, which had been blankly staring at the now empty terrace, turned to one place.

A red shawl lies on the cold floor, forgotten by its owner.

It was left abandoned, trampled by the original two people.

The sound of leaves rustling in the wind.

Even the sound of crickets seems to tell them that summer is fast approaching.

One very peaceful summer night.

A cold voice echoes quietly through the empty air.

“...Ellie.”

In this way, Ernest was faced with despair and betrayal of unfathomable depth.

***

An afternoon with gentle sunlight streaming through the room.

Jenna asked me, brushing my hair as I sat in front of the mirror.

“How are you feeling today, Miss?”

“Good, my body has become very healthy.”

It's been about two weeks since the raid at the sponsorship office.

My health was improving day by day.

At first, I had a hard time even sitting on the bed, let alone walking.

Now I had recovered enough to go for a light walk.

“So, what do you think about going out for a walk again?”

Jenna answered my question gently with a firm answer.

“You still have to be careful. Thanks to Carsis, you're feeling much better now, but your internal injuries were so severe that it’ll be a long time before you can return to how you used to be. Of course, you shouldn’t use your powers.”

Jenna was right.

Although my body felt better than it did that day, I could feel that my physical strength and overall health were noticeably worse than when I first started practicing.

Perhaps in this state of body, it feels like even if I use a minor power, I will be knocked out in one blow.

'I must never use my power again.'

I had no intention of using my powers indiscriminately, not even before my body was completely healed, nor even after that.

Because power was essentially the ability to use my life force as collateral.

It was when I was habitually fiddling with my earrings.

Jenna clapped her hands together as if remembering something she had forgotten.

“Oh, that’s right. Lord Carsis said. He said he would take the young lady to Aiasis today.”

“Aiasis?”

“This is the Emperor’s bathroom in the inner palace of Sollerian. It is also called the Fountain of Healing.”

The fountain of healing.

It was said that only those who had inherited the blood of Clepius for generations could enter that place.

Jenna chattered excitedly about the popular belief that bathing in the healing spring would cure any illness.

“Of course, it doesn’t completely cure all illnesses, but I think it does help to some extent. I used to take water from there and bathe in it.”

"Yes?"

Somehow.

I left the water pipe connected to the bathroom and kept bringing water.

“Although it is inside Sollerian, it is a bit far from where the young lady is staying. That is why Lord Carsis waited until the young lady’s health recovered a bit more.”

“Huh? Carsis?”

Why would Carsis wait for me to take a bath?

When I tilted my head as if I had difficulty understanding, Jenna continued speaking brightly.

“Aiasis is a place that you cannot enter unless you inherit the blood of Clepius. However, if you go in with Lord Carsis, it will be okay.”

“With Carsis?”

“Yes! From now on, Lord Carsis will personally wash you there. Then, your body will get better faster, right?”

“...”

Now, I'm being bathed by a man who will soon be Emperor.

No matter how much I thought about it, Jenna seemed to think of Carsis as nothing more than my elixir.
