IDEFYEM - Part 2 Chapter 1

Black Curtain, I'll do anything for you except for marriage!

Part 2 Episode 1

I woke up to the sunlight pouring down on my face.

The rain that had been falling all night had completely stopped, revealing a clear sky.

As soon as I woke up, I felt awkward because of the warmth, so I slept under the blanket.

Come to think of it, I fell asleep in Raphael's arms last night.

'Oh, that's right.'

Then, all of a sudden, my heart sank again, worried about his well-being.

Although the odds are slim, there is a chance that he may have lost consciousness again...

"..."

Raphael had his eyes closed. He still seemed to be fast asleep.

I checked his breathing, raised my hand over his face, and shook it.

"Ugh, that's a surprise!"

That was when.

He, who seemed to be asleep, lifted his chin and kissed my palm.

I blinked my wide-open eyes, feeling both happy and surprised.

"I was surprised!"

"Isn't this what you were telling me to do?"

Unlike me, who raised my voice in horror, Raphael smiled leisurely.

Then he went a step further, raised his upper body halfway, and pulled me towards him.

"Uh-uh."

I said and was dragged towards him. I soon swallowed a groan reflexively.

"Ah..."

It was clearly a sound of enduring pain.

Raphael's face suddenly hardened as he stopped just before touching my lips.

"Where does it hurt?"

His gaze was directed downward as if concerned about the burned thigh area.

"I should have called the doctor yesterday...."

"That's not it."

Why are you so quick-witted normally, but so dull at times like this?

I stopped Raphael like that and hesitated before opening my mouth.

"My waist."

"Yes?"

"My back hurts."

After a while. Raphael's cheeks and ears began to blush as he understood what I said.

'Why is your face red after doing that to yourself?

Now, even I, who looks good like that, seem quite strange.

No, maybe I was influenced by him.

"Why are you raising your hand?"

"I think I need to stretch my muscles."

"I don't believe you, so go away!"

I have been avoiding Raphael since morning, squirming and moving my body several times.

Even so, I grimaced, realizing that l was experiencing severe muscle pain.

"I just really want to help."

"You said that yesterday too..."

"Trust me, Enri."

The corners of Raphael's eyes drooped.

After I regained my memories, I felt helpless just by looking at his face.

While suffering from such aftereffects, I couldn't possibly refuse that expression.

"Yes, I get it. This is really the last one."

Eventually, I stopped rebelling and surrendered myself to Raphael.

Perhaps because I am a journalist whose job involves using my muscles, I felt surprisingly refreshed when his hands touched the sore area.

"Are you okay?"

"Uhm, yes."

Raphael's hand was so effective that it became embarrassing to have refused so vehemently.

He tried his best as he watched me gradually becoming more and more tired.

After the heartfelt massage, he collapsed on the bed and hugged me again.

He kissed my nape lightly and smiled in a way I had never seen before.

His facial features, which I thought were cold, softened, and his eyes, illuminated by the sunlight, sparkled brightly.

Looking at it this way, he had a boyish side to him that made him seem like a boy.

"Why do you keep laughing like that?"

"Just."

"Just why?"

When I asked persistently, Raphael hesitated for quite a while before opening his lips.

"I'm happy."

The time to wake up in the morning with your loved one, look into each other's eyes and talk.

Why was this small happiness so difficult for us?

But today, instead of crying, I chose to laugh. I looked into his blue eyes, smiled, and spoke to Raphael as if to reassure him.

"From now on, you can do this every day."

"Every day seems difficult."

I opened my eyes wide, wondering if he was pessimistic about being cursed.

"No. I said you can do it..."

"After I recover. I have to go to the office and go to the training center every morning."

Stunned by the unexpected answer, I quickly shook my head and muttered.

"Sometimes when you're doing well, this happens."

"Do you wish I didn't do that?"

"Not necessarily, but if I tell you not to go, you won't go, right?"

"If you wish. I can cut down on my sleep and go out earlier in the morning, then I'll be back in the bedroom when you wake up."

Yeah, being diligent is a good thing.

But no matter how much I thought about it, I felt sorry for RaphaeI's busy life.

"You're human too, so there are times when you want to rest."

"Aren't you resting even now?"

"This is because I am sick and have no choice but to rest. Raphael."

He thought about it carefully, then shrugged his shoulders and said.

"I'm still not sure because I'm used to this kind of life. Plus, I have responsibilities."

Raphael has to take on many responsibilities even though his health is not good.

No matter how much I thought about it, I thought his life must be too difficult, so I thought about it carefully.

"Oh, I remembered!"

Then suddenly something occurred to him and he raised his voice and spoke.

"It may be difficult right now, but you will have a successor someday."

"..."

"Then, every day I wake up looking at your face like this. Some days, I lie in bed all day."

As I continued speaking, RaphaeI's brows furrowed.

He opened his mouth to speak as he was glancing around to see if I had said something wrong.

"It hasn't even been that long since we had the wedding, and now you're talking about a successor... I think it's a bit early, but if you wish."

"What, what, what did you say?"

I never meant it like that! My eyelashes fluttered.

"I'm going to make it possible for me to stay in bed all day today."

'This person...!'

Raphael smiled like a serpent and kissed her again.

In the end, all plans for the day to have breakfast with him were canceled.

***

After the sun had set, and I had barely managed to get out of bed, Raphael followed me around and stayed by my side.

Whenever I tried to roll my eyes, a pitiful expression, and say something like this.

"The weather in the north is cold, Enri. I am worried about you..."

Unable to throw away Raphael, I held him in my arms even when I was having a late meal or reading a letter.

"Did you get any interesting letters?"

"Um.. Oh, I sent a letter to Sophia last time. I got a reply."

I wonder if she wrote down how things are going with the Second Prince.

Taking advantage of the moment when Raphael, who respected my privacy, turned his head, I opened the envelope with a little anticipation.

[Hello. Enrica, How's the weather up north? Is it still cold?

Enrica at the wedding was so beautiful that I can't say it enough, especially when the long-awaited dress was revealed.

I, along with the people around me, couldn't help but gape in amazement.]

Sophia, who still speaks wittily and pleasantly..

I wanted to go to the capital and see her. I also felt even more sorry for having caused a misunderstanding due to the trickery of black magic.

[I know you must have been very busy, but I really appreciate you granting me a favor.

Who would have thought that His Highness the Prince's heart would be so clearly visible to Enrica's eyes?

Since it was Enrica, of all people, speaking like this, I couldn't help but believe it.

It is so amazing that Your Majesty really cares about me...

When I think about it that way, my perspective on His Highness begins to change little by little.]

What on earth are you trying to say?

The more I read this rather lengthy, un-Sophia-like epilogue, the more curious I became about what would happen next.

[When I see His Highness, who I said was like a dog, again, he seems like a dignified hunting dog. His beggar-like personality seems to be kind enough to understand the heart of a beggar.

So we decided to just give it a try. If something goes wrong, we can just break up as we originally planned.

What is there in life?]

"What the heck is this?"

I hurriedly turned the letter over and looked at the back pages to see if there was more content, but there was only blank paper.

Sophia's letter ended with this shocking declaration.

It was so amazing. Her face was still bright even after she called me over and cursed the Prince for hours!

"What's wrong, Enri?"

Then Raphael, who I had been sitting on his lap and thinking about something else, asked me.

Still confused, I opened my mouth and started talking nonsense.

"No, that's... His Highness the Second Prince and Sophia decided to date."

After I brought it up, I thought, "Oops." Raphael probably didn't know that the two of them were in a contract relationship.

Is there any way to explain this while keeping Sophia's secret?

"So, um... That's...."

"Weren't those two bound by a strict contract?"

Then Raphael opened his mouth, looking quite surprised, though not as surprised as I was.

My eyes widened at Raphael's reaction, and I was equally surprised and asked a question.

"You knew that too?"
