WTPB - Chapter 132

The arm holding Erdene on the sheet tightened its grip.

The two people’s thoughts started from different places and spread out together as a single point.

Erdene blinked her eyes busily as if she could see the nonexistent line and rolled her head.

A map, a strategy table, pins, and pieces of various sizes appeared in front of her eyes for a moment and then disappeared.

Arkan said.

“If you're going to start with the whole pool, and then trade other things later..."

Erdene nodded.

“We should release our mice as soon as possible. We need to use them as experienced guys so that those little mice won’t have to be on guard.”

Arkan buried his lips in her soft hair and whispered.

“If I could put the King of Kensilom on my palm with this, many things would be easily solved, but it’s not easy.”

Erdene glanced up. She couldn’t see Arkan’s face because he was down... She closed her eyes tightly and slowly turned her head.

Erdene, who brushed his curly bangs and pressed her lips to his forehead, whispered softly.

“Don’t be so sullen. The more difficult an ingredient is to cook, the more exquisite it becomes when cooked properly.”

“Hmph...”

Princess Limepale yawned like a child and stretched while lying down.

She opened her eyes a beat late and saw a blunt man’s face glaring in her field of vision.

“Ouch!”

Princess Limepale let out a small scream that anyone could clearly see was made up, and she pulled the sheet down to her chin in an exaggerated manner.

Then, the man looking down at her, Eorshin, furrowed his brow deeply.

“What are you doing?”

Princess Limepale rolled her large, dark blue eyes and said.

“What are you doing, Eorshin? Staring at your master who hasn’t even woken up yet? If someone saw you, they’d think you had some kind of evil intention toward me.”

At this, Eorshin’s wrinkles deepened and darkened.

“Didn’t I tell you not to make comments that could be misunderstood by others, Princess?”

The Princess snorted.

“If it weren’t for the duchy, who would eavesdrop on our conversation here? You’re not that old, but you worry and nag a lot. That’s how you really get wrinkles.”

Princess Limepale got up, ran her fingers through her messy hair, and yawned again.

It was a free-spirited side that he had never seen in the duchy where so many eyes were watching.

Eorshin took a step back and said,

“You should get up and get ready. I contacted the Queen’s palace early, and got permission for Her Majesty’s morning schedule to be postponed so that she could meet with you.”

“Yes, go and get some water to wash my face, a cloth, and a hairbrush. Since I couldn’t bring a single maid to serve me because I was carrying you, you should serve me. Isn’t that right?”

At the Princess’s words, Eorshin narrowed his eyebrows as if he could hear all sorts of ridiculous things.

“If you call the palace maids...”

Princess Limepale cut him off.

“Eorshin, what did you say was the best way to keep a secret?”

Eorshin answered after a moment of silence.

“It’s to never let your secrets out.”

“That’s right. You’ve memorized it well. Even if they find out that you came here incognito, it wouldn’t be such a big deal. His Majesty the King of Vetor is a man of reason, so there’s plenty of room for persuasion. However, in the duchy, we can’t just laugh it off like this. If we were to put all the people who are burning their eyes to tear me down and turn me into a useless rag in a sack, we could fill a river.”

At first glance, it sounded cheerful, but Limepale’s voice was much colder than usual.

Eorshin, who quickly understood her warning, let out a short sigh.

The Princess continued.

“If rumors spread that I disguised the Grand Duke’s knights as maids and brought them around, they will come and swarm me like a pack of hungry wolves. Those who want to fill their own pockets by making an incompetent fool the next Grand Duke. Are you going to throw me to those who are just waiting for the day to get rid of me, the thorn in their side? Are you going to repay me for taking risks to do your favor?”

“...No, Princess. I fully understand what you are trying to say.”

“If you understand, then go and prepare quickly. I will not allow anyone else here while I am here, so take that as it is.”

“Understood.”

As Eorshin quietly and quickly disappeared, Princess Limepale, whose eyes had been wide open as if threatening, let out a short sigh.

“We have a long way to go, a long way.”

It took longer than expected for Princess Limepale to finish dressing up.

The Princess, who was urging her steps while touching the ornaments that had been put upside down, glanced at Eorshin, who was dressed as a maid and gave him a low voice to scold him.

“As soon as you get back, start practicing combing, okay?”

Eorshin nodded silently. His combing was not just poor, it was terrible.

Even Limepale, who was usually patient without blinking for anything, eventually got angry and asked if he was going to pull out all of her hair.

The two people who arrived in front of the Queen’s palace were guided inside by the servant.

Since they had requested an audience in advance, the reception room was already prepared.

Anne guided the two people to their seats and said.

“Her Majesty will be here soon. Please wait a moment, my lady.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the door leading to the bedroom opened and Erdene appeared.

Eorshin’s eyes widened at the sight of Erdene with her black hair pulled up to reveal her neck and wearing an elegant purple dress.

Limepale, who noticed this, pretended to stand up and punched his side with her fist.

“Come to your senses.”

Only then did Eorshin realize the situation and lower his head.

Limepale greeted Erdene politely with a lively attitude.

“Your Majesty, it is nice to meet you. I am Joelvi Limepale Peerates of the Stradhog.”

Erdene nodded, smiling with her lips pulled back. Limepale turned slightly before she could ask about Eorshin.

“This is my maid, Rishi.”

Eorshin, disguised as a maid, bowed his head and did a courtly bow.

Erdene nodded without much reaction and said to Limepale,

“It’s nice to meet you. It’s so nice to finally meet the Princess who is rumored to be treasured like a jewel in the hands of Grand Duke Joelvi.”

Normally, it would not have been strange for Erdene, the queen, to treat Limepale with condescension since her status was much higher than that of the Princess, but Erdene greeted her using gentle honorifics.

Limepale wondered why, but she didn’t show it and answered cheerfully.

“You are flattering me. I think the rumor spread because my father covered up my childish behavior. Please call me Limepale.”

Erdene smiled again and turned her gaze to Eorshin, who was standing behind Limepale.

Limepale, who noticed that Erdene was observing him, spoke again to divert Erdene’s attention.

“Oh, I apologize for not telling you in advance, Your Majesty. My maid, Rishi, has a severe sore throat due to the hardship of the journey. She will be unable to speak for the time being, so I would appreciate your understanding.”

“Oh, really? There is a doctor in the palace of Vetor who is well-versed in throat and chest diseases, and I will send him later. She will receive treatment.”

“I will express my gratitude on behalf of my maid for your kindness, Your Majesty.”

Limepale bowed gently once again.

Lisi, or Eorshin, who was standing behind her, also bent and straightened his knees.

Erdene, who had been staring at the two, spoke again.

“It is early, so if it is okay with you, would you like to have breakfast together while talking? How about that?”

Princess Limepale smiled and nodded.

“I am glad and grateful that you say so.”

“Sophia, go and get ready.”

“Understood, Your Majesty.”

Sophia nodded and took Anne with her.

“Shall we sit down?”

At Erdene’s gesture, Limepale moved to the table.

The two of them moistened their lips with the simple tea Sabnake had brought and looked at each other’s faces again.

Erdene said,

“I should have thanked you as soon as I saw you, but I forgot because your face was so beautiful. You brought me apples, the pride of the duchy, for my illness. I appreciate it.”

“I did what was right. Vetor is the center of the seven inland countries, and the Grand Duke has always said that he owes much to His Majesty the King of Vetor.”

“It’s easy to get involved in a good thing and show off, but it’s hard to jump in and help out in a bad thing.”

A smile appeared on Princess Limepale’s lips. But that smile was very strange.

For a moment, Erdene thought she had a mirror in front of her.

Although the two looked completely different, Limepale smiled with a surprisingly similar expression to Erdene.
