THIBV - Chapter 84

Isaac, who had fallen over with a thud, jumped up and asked the guard's name, grumbling.

But he had to hurry to get on the carriage because of the people who were throwing stones at him.

Outside, people were shouting.

"Die! Die, you bastard!"

The coachman quickly increased his speed.

Isaac sat back in his seat, almost as if he was lying down in shock.

"Ugh, bad luck!"

He couldn't understand what he had done so wrong.

He gave orphans jobs and helped widows sell their bodies to earn money.

Be just made some profit in the process.

"They don't even know how much I contributed to the national economy. Oh, really! They are so stupid that they live like beggars. They are worse than cows and pigs."

His anger was Inappropriately directed at Bridget.

"Why on earth didn't you tell me that things would turn out like this while you were still in the palace? Are you just trying to take care of yourself?"

Judging from the fact that she even held a banquet for war orphans. He thinks Bridget must have known about it a long time ago.

He had no idea that Bridget was the one instigating this whole situation.

She was just a worthless woman who stuck by the King's side, without even thinking about how it could be of benefit or harm to her husband.

"You and I didn't even realize that we were on the same boat..."

Bridget's last name is Winston. Even though she became the King's mistress, it still remains true that he is her husband.

He laughed wickedly as he thought of his in-laws, who were desperate to marry Chloe off to a good nobleman.

"If you're not that helpful, then just wait and see how I come out, Bridget."

Isaac gritted his teeth, thinking that he could somehow use the King's power to make her want to help him.

The carriage soon arrived at Winston Mansion.

Isaac staggered out of the carriage and gave an order to the butler who had come out to greet him.

"I need to wash up. I look horrible. Tell them to prepare some bath water."

"Mr. Benjamin is waiting."

Isaac's face crumpled.

"He hasn't left yet?"

"He has been there ever since."

"You should have pulled it out!"

"Madam said that if we forcibly drag Benjamin out, she will register your nephew on the family register. Should we do that?"

Isaac glared at Cedric, grinning.

Cedric said without blinking an eye.

"I am just an employee, doing the work I am assigned to do."

Even though he said that Isaac thought that at some point Cedric only listened to Bridget's orders.

'We need to change the butler.'

But it wasn't easy because he was busy with various things.

Having a butler was a very honorable thing, and it took a lot of effort to change one. It was different from having a mere servant.

If he kicked Cedric out without a good reason, word would spread among the snobbish butlers and no one would want to come to Winston Manor.

Isaac had no idea how to replace a butler in a noble family.

'Nothing's going my way, oh, damn it.'

Nothing worked.

Isaac nervously took off his tie, dropped it on the floor, and headed to the study where Benjamin was waiting.

"Yeah, I guess I'll just have to get everything done today."

Isaac slammed open the study door and stormed in.

Benjamin and Daisy sat on the sofa, looking at him with determined faces.

"Are you here, brother?"

"What are you doing! If you were my brother, you wouldn't be so ungrateful!"

"What favor have you done for me that you call me ungrateful? You have spoken well. This is the opportunity for you to show your gratitude as a big brother!"

Benjamin was a manual laborer on a farm.

He walked menacingly in front of Isaac, who seemed to be only half his size, with a large, sturdy build.

"Hey, stay still there! Are you crazy? Your eyes are spinning! If you do something wrong. I'll hit you. I'll hit you!"

Isaac, who had come in with such confidence, took a step back.

"I don't have time to sit here and protest like this, brother. The farm is pretty busy. I want to know if the workers are doing a good job, so let's finish what we have to say."

"What do we have to say? I have nothing to say to you."

"If you keep acting like this, I can't do anything about it. I can only tell my sister-in-law, that you can't communicate with me, so do whatever you want."

Isaac gritted his teeth.

'Damn it. Bridget...!!'

But Isaac could do nothing about Bridget's assertiveness in exercising her rights as a wife.

Isaac had a stomach ache due to stress.

It's been like that lately.

No matter how good the medicine the doctor prescribed, it was of no use.

He groaned and held his stomach, then sat down face to face with Benjamin.

Anyway, he had to finish this story.

Eleanor was sick in bed because of this, and Penelope was approaching her due date.

When Penelope found out that Isaac also wanted a child of his own, she threatened to register the child on his family register at every opportunity.

How annoying it is to yell that if Isaac doesn't decide before the baby is born.. she will pack her bags, move to her parent's house, give birth there, and never show the baby again.

"Yes, Benjamin. What on earth do you want? Tell me anything except to add my nephew to my family register."

Soon, Isaac and Benjamin engaged in a fierce battle.

What Benjamin asked for was the inheritance that was originally supposed to be given to him.

Isaac was already suffering from a lot of losses as he was worried that his residence would be seized due to the fines.

Isaac simply considered adding Benjamin's children to his family register.

But then, in the future, none of his blood relatives would be able to be registered in the family register.

Even if Isaac had children from another woman other than Penelope in the future, Bridget, whose heirship had been resolved, had no need to register any of his illegitimate children on the family register. She had fulfilled her duty by adopting her nephew.

It doesn't seem likely that Bridget will bear Isaac's child later on, though.

'Ahhhh!'

Isaac screamed inwardly.

'Why did this happen? Why on earth did things turn out this way?'

Where did it all go wrong?

He eventually decided to give Benjamin some of the real estate business and assets he had inherited from his father.

The real estate business, although not fun, was a steady and safe way to make money.

Isaac's business of selling war victims for commissions was also shut down, so his money was gone.

Even the property that was to be divided among Benjamin was to be paid in debt.

'It's okay. I still have investment projects. I just need to successfully conclude the Cartanian trade business.'

He tried hard to console himself.

But he couldn't help but feel so angry.

As Benjamin and Daisy left the mansion with satisfied faces, carrying the memorandum and related documents Isaac had written for them, Isaac barged into Penelope's room.

Penelope, who had been watching Benjamin go out the window, was startled to see Isaac looking very angry.

"Why, why is it like this?"

Isaac stomped closer to Penelope and grabbed her arm roughly, twisting it.

"We have agreed to register the child in the family register as you wish."

Isaac ground his teeth.

"Oh, it hurts! Let me put this down!"

But Isaac glared at Penelope with fierce eyes as if he was going to kill her and tightened his grip.

"Do you know how much damage I've suffered because of you? Huh? Don't you know!"

"How would I know that!"

"You should know! I paid a huge price for that child in your belly! He's mine! Do you understand? He's mine!"

"Oh, I get it, so please let go of my hand, ahh! Please let go!"

Isaac threw Penelope onto the bed.

Penelope, who was fully pregnant, hugged her belly and groaned.

"Have a son. Be sure to have a son! Otherwise, you will die by my hand!"

Isaac screamed loudly and then went out.
