TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 57

Perdiccas II was now so red with rage that his eyes almost popped out.

"Even the wicked are credit of the Empire. Such a person died in a foreign land, at the hands of his own royal family! Do you know what your arbitrary actions have given to your enemies, to Valdina!"

The Emperor tore up the parchment report that had been presented to him and sprinkled it on his son.

Among the carvings was a tattered painting of the Katzen flag wrapped around Jared's body.

"Thanks to you, they're about to sit on top of my head now! Cesare, it's because of you!"

"Who would dare to overstep the authority of the Emperor? Please stop worrying about it."

Cesare's answer sounded sarcastic, overly pious, and loyal, and he succeeded in raising the Emperor's wrath to the end.

"You, your man. You're making a fool of me, or you're fooling baggage!"

"Your Majesty!"

The acolyte caught the panting Emperor.

Clutching his heart, Perdiccas II managed to squeeze the armrests of the throne and gasped for breath.

He glared at his eldest son as if he were going to kill him.

"Why, huh, why..."

There was a deep suspicion between his breaths as if he were trying to gauge Cesare's intentions.

This was really not like an older son.

'What the hell are you thinking?'

Cesare chuckled, noticing that his father was glistening with the black pupils as if to gauge him.

"He's been through my death, and he's probably gone someday, if not now. I don't forget grace, but I don't forget resentment."

"..."

"Doesn't the Emperor know better?"

Observers of the 12 Emperors who were killed by their sons. It was also the reverse rin of Perdiccas II.

"Yes, I'm sorry!"

The Emperor's patience was broken.

"Imprison him in the Abyss! Don't let him come out until he realizes what he's done wrong and beg!"

The Abyss was literally the deepest dungeon in the imperial palace.

It could only be reached by descending hundreds of stone steps that led deep underground, and it was a place of complete darkness without a single ray of light.

A small space that causes moisture and cold that cannot be compared to the ground, and paralysis of the body.

The pitch-black little room, which made even the most notorious sinner lose its sense of time, would quickly go insane if trapped.

"You know that doesn't mean anything to me."

Cesare shrugged and stood up. The red rope that bound his hands fell helplessly beneath his feet.

"I'll stay for a while. For the sake of saving face."

He turned to Jason.

"Brother, we've panned things together, so we should go together."

Jason was stunned. He doesn't understand why he was captured on the spot and dragged to the Empire, but he has to go through the abyss?

"What are you talking about, Cesare. You killed him..."

Jason tried to shake his arm away, but he couldn't break his grip. Cesare leaned slightly and whispered in his ear.

"Well, I'll take Raju for you. He's your servant."

"...What?"

"Any other excuse is fine. However, the person who bought Jared happens to be my brother, so I don't know what the Emperor thinks."

Cesare smirked. The end of the laughter was somehow sharp.

If the suspicious Perdiccas II found out that it was his servant who had bought Jared, he would think Jason had betrayed him and would immediately get rid of him.

Jason's face contorted.

"You..."

'How much do you know? Did you know that I joined hands with the warlocks?'

But in the clear gold, Jason could not read anything.

The creepy pupils, lowing like the eyes of a wild beast, gave a sense of helplessness.

No matter how hard Jason tried, he had a feeling that he might never be able to surpass the interest.

"Then brother, until I see you again."

"That's a martial...!"

Caught by Cesare, leaving behind the fluttering Perdiccas II, Jason was helplessly dragged away.

"....Agemas... With the Emperor... Block the trade route!"

"Disruption... supplies."

On the way to the abyss, a knight busily passed them.

"What's going on?"

"Oh, Your Highness the First Prince. Your Highness the Grand Duke is also here. It's a big deal. Valdina is occupying the central trade route and cutting off supplies to Katzen."

In particular, Katzen was supposed to unite with the minor kingdoms to bring in a large amount of iron, but the knight explained with a desperate face that it had been blocked.

"I must report to His Majesty as soon as possible. The time is urgent, and I ask for your understanding."

Jason's face was stunned.

"Wait, the Central Trade Route. Is Valdina really going to declare war on us? Tell me what you know..."

He tried to ask the knight for more details, but he was soon caught in Cesare's grasp.

"Go ahead. The Emperor will go on a rampage, so you should prepare yourself."

The knight, nervous by Cesare's words, left, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

It didn't seem to be a lie to say that the Emperor of Valdina cared for his only sister like his life.

Normally, he wouldn't have been as happy about that as he is now.

But for the time being, trapped in the abyss, he was relieved to know that there was a powerful shield to protect Medea on his behalf.

"The Emperor is going to go on a rampage. Isn't it, brother?"

"..."

Jason glared at him and said nothing.

They reached the entrance to the abyss.

"Your Highness the First Prince, Your Highness the Grand Duke. I've been contacted, I'm happy to take you."

The jailer of the grim abyss came out and bent over.

Maybe it's because he's been through so many notorious prisoners, or maybe he's been tainted by the abyss.

Instead of reverence for the imperial family, there was a bizarre mixture of disgust and politeness in the jailer.

"I will take Your Highness to the abyss of each. Follow me."

Jason's expression contorted as he looked down the black staircase, which seemed to have no end in sight.

"Cesare, why are you doing this to me?"

He couldn't understand it.

"It's obvious."

Until he returned a light answer.

"What's the obvious..."

"Are you going to leave me here and go to her?"

Cesare said slowly.

The pitch-black prison didn't seem to pose a threat to him.

"Wake up, dear brother."

Even in the darkness, his golden eyes were as clear as a blazing flame.

"I can't stand to see you steal the ball I've put my whole body into."

Imperial Palace.

Around Medea's bed, three men had somber expressions.

"It's okay."

Medea smiled, but with her hands and white bandages around her neck, she wasn't convincing at all.

"It's my fault. I missed it. I have nothing to say."

Kensington lowered his head.

Only now did she understand why Neril had looked so distressed.

'Jared, if only I had found out his whereabouts sooner...'

She couldn't help but think that if she had been a little better if she had tried a little harder, she would have been able to keep her lord safe.

"There's always going to be an emergency. It's not like I didn't expect this to happen. Sir, I've blamed myself, so keep looking. What did Peleus do just now?"

Medea pressed her forehead. Now, her brother Peleus had completely escaped her expectations.

When she returned to the palace and woke up unconscious, news that Peleus had reached the Central Trade Route was already waiting for her.

"I didn't expect it to move so quickly."

Even if it had been a day or two, public opinion would have been disturbed.

In a war where the situation was changing from moment to moment, Medea was also impressed by her brother's judgment and swiftness.

"What's the news from Katzen?"

"If you're asking whether the First Prince will be punished, the Imperial palace is currently on heightened alert and we are inquiring about the exact situation, but he is primarily in custody."

Kensington continued his explanation in a calm voice.

"There is a fierce conflict between the Third and First Prince factions led by the Empress of the West over the punishment of the First Prince, and it is said that the Emperor withdrew his right to mobilize his private troops and disbanded the private army."

The soldiers mobilized from his various states were renowned for their numbers and skills. But they're scattered.

Perdiccas II could not pass up the opportunity to weaken his son's power.

There's no way they don't know that.

Medea paused.

The man's big hand and affectionate hand that caressed her cheek flashed through her mind.
