TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 49

At that time, Jason also learned of their plan.

"Abolishing the Princess? What kind of thing is this without consulting me?"

He growled as he threw down the pendant he used as a liaison with the warlocks.

When Jason found out that the culprit who stole the missing pendant was his subordinate Raju, he felt like he had been hit hard in the back of the head.

Even more so after he found out that he had summoned black magicians behind him to plot to eliminate the Princess of Valdina.

"Have you forgotten that this is Valdina's territory? The pursuit is already in full swing due to the explosion, and you're going to give us an excuse to reveal our identity?"

"The Golden Tower has ordered the removal of the Princess. We will simply comply."

They only answered repeatedly but did not answer Jason's questions.

"Tell me, why-."

"Your Highness, make no mistake."

A damp voice rang out.

"We do not need your permission. The Princess of Valdina is now a great obstacle to our plans. You cannot overturn the decision of the Golden Tower."

I thought you knew without me having to say it.

Tsk. The tongue-clicking sound was a bonus. The warlocks disappeared without a word.

Jason swallowed the deep sense of defeat that was running through him.

He raised his head from where they had left off.

Yank-!

Jason walked over with brisk strides and grabbed Raju by the collar.

"Now you are running wild without even recognizing your master."

"I am sorry to hear you say that, my lord."

Raju said with a mean smile.

"I do not blame my lord. I have stayed by your side despite your repeated failures. Therefore, please turn a blind eye to me, Your Highness."

Raju's eyes were serious. It was unclear whether it was filled with hatred or joy.

"Your Highness, you were quite soft on that woman, Medea. But have you forgotten? It was the Princess who made you like this, and made us submit to those men behind those veils."

When Medea's name was mentioned, Jason clenched his fists. His chest pounded and his heartbeat quickened.

"Are you sure you can handle it? That girl is hell-bent on capturing and killing us, and if Your Highness is being so lenient, there is no hope for us."

Raju grumbled at Jason, who was glaring at him.

"You..."

"If you don't forget, I too will see hope in Your Highness."

Raju shook his hand and left.

Jason bit his lip.

Darkness was encroaching upon the world again.

The western waters of the Strait of El Amuz.

The salty sea breeze brushed her nose. The ship anchored at the dock was busy preparing to set sail.

"I didn't know you would see me off all the way here. Thank you so much."

Duke Nova of Secession raised his head.

With flushed cheeks and watery eyes, the young man, who possessed an innocence that did not match his status as a Duke of a country, looked truly moved by Medea's farewell.

"If it is not rude to you next time, I would like to invite Your Highness the Princess to our principality."

"Of course. It would be nice to see the prosperity of Sessions. However, it is quite a distance away, so we must wait for the worst."

"No! It takes three months by land. but only half that by sea."

He blushed.

"When we return to our homeland, I will send a ship to take Your Highness the Princess."

Medea nodded slightly.

The innocent young man kept waving his hand even as the boat moved away.

As if he didn't want to miss her gaze, he ran up to the deck and shouted.

"Your Highness! Please make sure to meet me next time! Yes? Please!"

"Your Highness, that's enough..."

The sight of the aide trying hard to stop the passionate owner was enough to make those left behind burst into laughter.

"Isn't that too blatant of a pestering?"

As he disappeared from sight, Neril and Saya pouted.

"Saya, why do you think I came all the way here? The Duke's sole guardian is Admiral Keremier. He holds all the sea power in the southern part of the continent."

If you're lucky, this will be a great opportunity to increase El Amuz's military power.

"The Valdina Army is strong on land but weak at sea. We must address their weaknesses before the Katzen Empire can reclaim the strait."

"Your Highness, do you intend to part ways with the Facade?"

Neril asked. Up until now, weapons and mercenaries from the Strait have been airlifted through the Facade.

Medea shook her head slightly.

"Not yet. However, just in case, preparing one more gunpowder would not be a bad choice."

"But... Ah... no."

Neril stopped what she was about to say and looked at Medea's expression.

"Neril. There is nothing you can't tell me."

"The admiral wouldn't just hand out the sea rights. He would definitely have to pay a corresponding price."

The admiral, known as the Serpent of the Southern Seas of the Continent, will use this opportunity to forge a strong bond with the new empire of Valdina.

"If we can use this opportunity to unite with Seres, it wouldn't be a bad thing for us either."

"Even if Your Highness must sacrifice yourself for that regiment?"

Neril couldn't stand it anymore and finally asked.

The powerful alliance that the governor desired was most likely to be formed by the marriage of Medea and the young Duke who had just left with a red face.

What could be stronger than a bond of blood?

"Well, it didn't look that bad."

"Your Highness!"

"That's ridiculous!"

When Saya and Neril burst out in unison at Medea's joke, she couldn't hold it back and burst out laughing.

"Don't be so scared. I have no intention of offering myself the price of a contract. Now that I am the Princess of the new empire, I don't think my brother would sell his sister as well."

"You're selling it?"

'His Majesty would rather wage war than fight against the Empire or anyone else.'

Neril swallowed her words.

"There's no need to worry about something that hasn't even happened yet. It won't be too late to think about it when the Governor-GeneraI's letter arrives."

"You are so prepared for everything, yet you are so indifferent to your own work."

Neril said with a bitter face.

"Let's go back now."

Medea just smiled faintly and headed towards the carriage.

Medea looked at the departing ship, perhaps knowing that her mature and calm demeanor was actually making the maids feel gloomy.

She tried to picture the face of the Duke of Seres.

Even though she just sent him off a little while ago, she still doesn't remember his lasting impression.

In fact, it's not just the Duke who is like that, as most of the people she meets are like that.

"Your Highness, I will serve you."

It was the moment when she was about to board the carriage to return to the villa.

The calm sea suddenly became quiet as if holding its breath.

"...Did you hear?"

Medea paused. She thought she had just heard an alien, ear-piercing sound.

"What.... Your Highness? I didn't hear anything."

As Medea straightened her back, the clear waters of the dock suddenly darkened and a huge tidal wave rose.

"Back off!"

At Medea's sudden shout, Neril and Agema left the dock in a hurry.

Swish-!

A fierce wave crashed down on the place where Medea and her companions were.

The pier was completely destroyed, and the shattered planks were swallowed up by the waves.

"Thank goodness. If Your Highness hadn't told me."

The Agemas quickly approached Medea. Deputy Commander Menil cleared his throat.

If it weren't for Medea's scream, they too would have been swept away by the fierce waves.

"Not yet."

As Medea's eyes were still fixed on the waves, the waves suddenly turned over.

A pitch-black sphere appeared at the center of the wave that was once again creating a splash.

A deep, black hole that seems to swallow everything just by looking at it.

"It's a wave! A monster wave has burst!"

The Agemas took up a battle stance.

Ding.

A distant sound of wings flapping could be heard from somewhere.
