IARMDH - Chapter 169 [ END ]

“I tried to break the door, but it wouldn’t break or open.”

Tan's explanation was as follows. He met Brother Luhmann on his way to call the security forces. Thinking that the more people who could help, the better, Tan told Brother Luhmann about this building.

Brother Luhmann went to rescue Smith, and Tan met with the security forces and showed them the nameplate Cain gave him, then gathered them and came to this building.

“I tried to break the window, but it didn’t break.”

The security forces tried to enter the building somehow, but there was no way. Tan was at a loss as to what to do with the powerful energy he had never felt before.

“I was really worried about whether I should go to the godmother and tell her.”

At that moment, Judith and her group opened the door and ran out.

“I thought I was going to die without being able to move.”

Cain let out a deep breath.

He was so exhausted that he couldn't even move his legs. He thought there was nothing more disgusting than a deformed fly, but he experienced hell.

“There are all sorts of things going on.”

“I thought I was going to die, Captain.”

“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.”

Smith and the Luhmann brothers also shook their heads. Just as they were working together to defeat the deformed fly and were feeling proud, darkness revealed itself and blood rained down from the ceiling, and Smith shuddered.

“Sir Charlie, keep a close eye on this place and make sure no one gets near it. I need to go and clean up this blood first.”

Cain called out to one of the knights leading the security force.

“Marquis. Where are you hurt?”

“Can’t you see this blood? We’re all soaked in blood...”

Cain, looking back at Erne, was speechless.

It was because they were all clean as if they had been drenched in blood. Judith, Erne, Henry, and Smith.

They all looked down at their hands and clothes with surprised expressions. Aside from a little dust, they were all clean.

'This is something a ghost would cry about.'

Judith looked up at the building, tucking her disheveled hair behind her ear.

Inside the building, where every window was covered in pitch-black darkness, faint screams could be heard sporadically.

As the police swarmed in, the onlookers began to chatter and speculate.

“It’s a cursed building.”

“Yeah, how could that be if it wasn’t a curse?”

Wait, what, a curse? A cursed building? Judith sighed and touched her forehead. What, why am I getting another cursed building?

“...I guess I shouldn’t sell that.”

Erne just moved his lips next to Judith, who was muttering softly.

That's important now, yes, it will be important, it will be important.

“Damn, you there, psychic, are we okay? Huh?”

As the curse sounded, Smith grabbed the bullet and shook it as if in a fit.

“Hey, that black thing just stuck to me.”

“I got hit with a lot of blood.”

“Yeah, blood too!”

Tan licked his lips in embarrassment as the already fierce brothers Smith and Luhmann rushed towards him.

“If you’re feeling anxious, should I sprinkle some salt on it?”

“Spray it, spray it quickly.”

Tan took out some sun-dried salt from his pocket and sprinkled it on Smith and the Luman brothers.

“Spray it more vigorously, I mean spray it in every corner.”

“Yes? Yes, yes.”

Tan was diligently pouring salt on Brother Luhmann and Smith. As Smith and Brother Luhmann fell down covered in salt, Cain quietly approached Tan.

“Ahem, can I sprinkle some on too?”

“I’m out of salt. What should I do, Your Grace?”

When Tan showed Cain the empty salet bag, he became even more sullen. Ern clicked her tongue as she looked at Cain like that.

“Buy and spread it, buy and spread it.”

The building that had spewed out Judith and her party remained unopened for a while, but then at some point, the darkness cleared on its own and the door opened. Inside, a man without an eyeball was discovered.

Unfortunately, Shadin was found still breathing and was taken to the dungeon.

“Did you come for an interview?”

“Then, of course. You can’t even have a meeting between us?”

Judith looked down at Shadin, who was barely able to sit up from the dirty dungeon floor. His single eye was sharp and focused.

That was the curse and punishment the author had placed on Shadin. Shadin had to endure the terrible pain that came sporadically, without being able to go crazy and with his mind intact.

Since the death penalty was a relief to Shadin, the Emperor did not kill him but locked him up in the dungeon. For a serial killer and a leader of a rebellion, there was no more appropriate punishment than death.

“I came here to share something I recently figured out.”

“I’m so grateful for this.”

There was not a shred of guilt in Shadin's sarcastic attitude. Any sympathy she had for Shadin had disappeared.

“There is a person who is in his keeping. You call him Duharita.”

That day, Judith told the godmother everything that had happened in the building. Illuor, who had been listening quietly, interrupted and said:

“You call him Duharita, but other Shartins call him Philea.”

Both were Gore words meaning daughter. For the Shartins, that was the case, but for Judith and Shadin, it had another meaning.

“Philea?”

Heh, keheh, Shadin scratched the ground, making a strange sound that was neither crying nor laughing.

Philea. That was the author's pen name.

Judith turned her back on Shadin, who was giggling like a lunatic.

“I hope you pay for your sins in this living hell.”

“If you need money again, come to me anytime. I’ll lend it to you especially.”

“Even as a joke, it’s terrible.”

Erne stood between Smith and Judith. In recognition of their service in capturing the priest, the Emperor, as promised, paid off the usury of the Rhineland family.

“Come buy some incense, Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith, I’ll give you three for the price of two.”

“Are you continuing your incense business? I heard Madam is rich now.”

Since the Emperor paid off the debt, all of Cliff's embezzled property went to Judith.

She may not be the richest woman in the empire, but she is rich enough to live comfortably without having to work.

“That’s true.”

They say that when a person stands up, he wants to sit down, and when he sits down, he wants to lie down.

Judith sang that she would be content if she could just eat and live without having to work, but when that actually happened, she wanted to be richer.

“I'm still hungry.”

"Yes?"

“That just occurred to me, Mr. Smith.”

Judith's eyes sparkled with the desire to become rich, and extremely rich. Erne shook his head.

'I knew it.'

He had known all along. After the priest's affairs were settled, Erne thought about the wedding. It was a wedding neither of them wanted, so he was worried about the shabby nature of it.

Erne slyly asked Judith if she wanted to have another wedding. He honestly thought that Judith would want to have at least one more wedding.

“Oh my, it’s all empty pretense.”

Erne was confused by the response that she didn't know why she had to spend money on a wedding that was already underway. Why can't she spend money when she already has it? Why...

“In our previous lives, we all got married after receiving a bucket of clean water.”

Is that true? Erne almost went to Shadin and asked.

“Erne, what are you doing? Let’s go quickly.”

Judith shook Erne's arm as he absentmindedly reminisced. Erne grabbed Judith's waist and lifted her up onto Gold before climbing onto her as well.

'You need time for a wedding too.'

Judith was very busy. Judith saw the godmother's family still hiding in the mansion even after the priest incident was solved, and the guests hesitated because the incense was made by the Shartins. Then, an idea came to her mind.

The operation name was 'Front Breakthrough'.

Judith purchased two more shops right next to the existing incense shop. She then used Tan's connections to recruit a powerful medium.

“Do you all have a psychic registration certificate?”

“Yes, there is, but why is that?”

“Let’s frame it and hang it on the wall.”

The medium registration law was created to catch mediums who assisted priests. Conversely, doesn't that mean that mediums who registered as mediums are upright?

“I will advertise that I am a medium officially certified by the royal family.”

Judith used the mediumship law to promote her business. After reading a fortune, the medium would advise the client to keep a candle containing certain herbs burning at all times to ward off evil or attract good luck.

“Once you hear that story, you’ll want to buy some incense. That’s just human nature.”

Judith had no doubt that customers would come to the incense shop with a light heart to just look around and buy some incense.

Then Judith put the Shartins salesperson at the forefront. The reason was that there seemed to be some reason why a Shartins salesperson recommended incense. She was exploiting the prejudice that all Shartins had spiritual powers.

At first, there wasn't much of a response, but gradually the response began to come. In addition, the export business with Loprey was going smoothly, so Judith was screaming with happiness.

“Ugh, I’m tired.”

After looking around the incense shop and helping with the closing, Erne and Judith returned to the mansion. As soon as they arrived, they went straight to wash up.

“Didn’t I bring any clothes to change into?”

Judith, who had just finished bathing, tilted her head. But what could she do with the clothes she had no clothes for? She put on her white bathrobe and went into Erne's room.

Erne had already finished bathing and returned to his room, and on the table was a silver basin he had never seen before.

“What is that?”

“This is purified water.”

Purified water?

Judith looked inside the silver basin and laughed in amazement. Erne made the smiling Judith stand across from him and took hold of both her hands.

“I swear that whether I live or die, I will never cheat and will only look at you.”

“What is that?”

“This is how you swear at a wedding.”

Although the wedding was held with a white bathrobe instead of a white wedding dress and a bucket of clean water instead of a fancy wedding hall, the wedding vows could not be left out.

“What will Erne swear then?”

“Whether I live or die, I only look at you and don’t waste money on useless things.”

Judith smiled with satisfaction at his promise not to waste her money.

‘...Shouldn’t I be smiling at the oath to only look at you?’

It's really consistent. But what should I do with this, if even that consistent appearance looks cute?

'There is no answer.'

Erne stuck out his tongue and walked up to Judith. Then he placed the string of his gown in her hand.

“Now that we’ve gotten married, we need to have a wedding ceremony.”

Judith swallowed hard as she grabbed his gown strap. Her heart raced. She had a strong feeling that tonight would not be the night to let it go. A tingling sensation ran down her spine.

Judith wanted to freeze at this moment, but at the same time, she was desperately curious about what would happen next. Has there ever been a time in her life when she felt this excited?

Judith tugged at Erne's gown strings, wondering if it was okay to do this, even though it was breathtakingly good.

The gap between his gowns opened, and Erne, who hugged Judith's waist, whispered in her ear.

“This time, I won’t open the door even if someone dies, so just know that.”
