THIBV - Chapter 67

A few days later, a rumor spread that the King was holding a banquet for the government.

Penelope heard the story faster than anyone else.

This was because Isaac had been boasting excitedly to his merchant friends about attending a royal banquet for the first time in his life and had been partying with them.

Penelope was so angry she thought she was going crazy.

'Damn Bridget! You're totally out of your mind!'

Not long ago, she was said to have been bestowed with a great treasure by the King, and this time she was even given the task of hosting a banquet.

'Someone is watching Isaac's face because of me.'

Penelope was hurt by the extreme comparison between her situation and that of Bridget.

After Bridget left for the palace, the relationship between Penelope and Isaac became cold.

Isaac would often nag Penelope with words like, "Do you know how much trouble you've caused me?"

Penelope cried, clung to him, and acted coquettish, but Isaac paid her no attention.

She was furious and jealous that Bridget was having such a fun party while their relationship was being ruined like this.

Penelope lost her appetite and became very ill.

These days, Isaac's entire interest is in the palace.

His main occupation was to carry around his palace temporary pass and show it off to everyone he met.

As Isaac's interest faded, the things Penelope enjoyed naturally disappeared as well.

The costume shop sent a note to Penelope informing her that the dress she had ordered had not been paid for and that the dress could be transferred to someone else.

Penelope was angry at the butler Cedric.

"What is this? Why hasn't my dress been paid for yet?"

"The master said that Mrs. Bellingham, who does not even go to social gatherings, does not need so many dresses and told us to leave them to be given to someone else."

"What? Ha!"

Penelope, who had been grumbling, gave an irritated order.

"I paid the deposit to the jewelry store but haven't received it yet, so please get that."

"The master also canceled the receipt for the same reason."

"What, what?"

Her mind became dizzy...

'It's all because of that damn bitch, Bridget!'

Why don't you just let me die?

'No, If you were going to be the King's mistress, you could have given me someone like Isaac!'

How could she possibly be holding Isaac in her hands while being loved so splendidly by the King in that magnificent palace?

"Greedy woman! Bad girl!"

Penelope screamed into the air and started to run wild.

After that, she felt miserable.

Penelope sank onto the sofa, resting her head on her hands.

But the butler didn't even say a word to ask if it was okay and just went off to do his job.

Penelope, who was unable to control her temper, ended up lying in bed the next day.

Still, the butler sent a maid because she was pregnant.

Penelope became very nervous and whined to the maid, asking for cold water: she changed her mind and asked for warm water; she asked for fruit: she wanted sorbet.

If she didn't like what the maid was doing, she would yell at her.

In fact, she wanted Isaac to come when he heard the commotion, so she did it every time he was in the mansion.

Then the maid, unable to bear it any longer, said something unpleasant.

"Take it easy, Mrs. Bellingham. The master is not paying attention to you when you keep whining like this."

Penelope glanced at the maid.

"What?"

“Ah.”

The maid made a face as if she had made a slip of the tongue.

But it was no mistake. The maid had heard something, and she wanted to turn Penelope's stomach.

"You, say it again. What is Isaac doing?"

"No I heard this story this morning, but it seems like the master had some woman's clothes made at the costume shop. Someone saw the receipt."

"This...!"

Penelope jumped up and grabbed the maid by the hair.

"Ouch! Why are you doing this!"

"Where did you get the rumors from with your mouth open? Do you think I'm funny? Huh? Do you think I'm funny?"

"Ahhh! Save me! Oh!"

Cedric came running at the maid's scream.

"Say it, Mrs. Bellingham!"

Penelope threw the maid to the floor.

"Get this bitch out of here right now!"

"Calm down."

"Kick this bitch out! Can't you hear me?"

Cedric sighed.

"As I said before, personnel management within the mansion is the responsibility of the mistress. You can't keep acting like this."

"That damn Bridget. Bridget! What's Bridget doing at the palace? Do you think she'd be interested in what's going on here?"

Penelope felt like jumping for joy.

She instinctively placed her hand on her stomach.

As the month approached, her belly had become quite swollen.

"There is no Bridget! I am the mistress of this mansion! She will never see Isaac's heir again! The Winston family line is in my hands! The child in my womb is Isaac's only bloodline! And how dare you treat me like this? The likes of you?"

Cedric looked at her coldly as she scolded him.

"Are you aware that there is a child in your stomach?"

Penelope paused at that pitiful gaze.

"Watch what you say and watch what you do."

"The child will listen. Who are you to tell me this and that? And if you continue to harass the employees like this, I will have no choice but to tell the master."

"Ha! Right! Tell Isaac. Tell him that she got in trouble for spreading false rumors about him! She should have been beaten up right away."

"The master said that if Mrs. Bellingham causes trouble again, he will move you to the annex and only provide you with food."

"What, what did you say?"

"So, if you don't want to stay in the annex without anyone's care, you'd better stay quiet."

Cedric spoke stiffly and left with the maid.

The maid's expression of dismay passed through Penelope's eyes.

"Ha! I, I..."

She tried to open the door, but the door closed coldly before her fingers.

Penelope sat there dumbfounded.

"Why... Why is everyone doing this to me? Why!"

Penelope tore at her hair.

It was unfair.

'What did I do!"

Where on earth did it go wrong?

'Bridget made her employees humiliate me. She must have told them to harass me. Damn it!'

That night, Penelope couldn't sleep.

The maid's words lingered in her head.

Is Isaac really cheating on me?

If not, I wouldn't have stopped walking like this.

"They say that men often cheat when their wives are pregnant."

She's heard that from her mother before.

When a man has nowhere to vent his lust, he looks to other women.

An anxious Penelope secretly searched Isaac's study at dawn.

"Ah..."

Penelope stumbled as she found something in the drawer.

As the maid said, there were several receipts for payment to the costume shop.

Who on earth did you buy my dress for when you left it waiting for a delivery note?

'Bridget, no? But wouldn't Bridget take care of everything in the royal family?'

She returned to her room and spent the whole night biting her fingernails and worrying.

'Is it Bridget? Or is it really another woman?'

Neither of them was pleasant.

Penelope searched through his study to relieve her anxiety, but she ended up becoming more anxious.

Isaac's divorce was completely over, and his affection wasn't what it used to be.

With her stomach like this, she couldn't seduce him with her body like before.

Even baby talk doesn't interest him much these days.

'I can't just sit back and do nothing.'

Isn't there a good number?

Is there anyone who can give me strength?

Penelope, who had been thinking, suddenly hit her knee.

'Ah, there it is!"

There was one person who would be...

Just as outraged as he was if he knew what was going on at Winston Manor right now.
