TCIWTFY - Part 2 Chapter 34

"Yes! Then I will disappear from the Emperor's sight! I will leave the Imperial Palace!"

"I, I, you idiot! Get out of here! I'll throw you in the backyard so you can't keep whining like that! Along with those worthless filthy bastards!"

Meanwhile, the 4th Princess screamed hysterically at her father's hand pointing at Samon.

"Ahh! Do you really want to see me bite my tongue and squeal to death? I've had enough of being associated with those beggars on paper!"

"I, I..."

"Angelique! We are your parents! How could you say such a thing! Your Majesty! Hold on tight!"

After the farce involving the Empress Dowager ended, the 4th Princess really went to the East where her maternal grandfather was.

It is said that on his way out she spat on the walls of the palace, which further angered Perdiccas II.

With the fourth Princess leaving the palace, the Claudio family lost even their superficial support.

Although it became harder for his family to survive in Katzen, Samon paid no attention.

Anyway, his plan to get his wife out of his sight was successful.

'The Emperor, the Peers, the Empress Dowager, and all those other great people didn't even notice that I let that woman go like that.'

Samon looked at the royal siblings dancing in the distance.

The siblings sparkled in the light of the beautiful stained glass contrasted with the sinister gaze of Samon looking at them.

'You will soon be like that too.'

Peleus will ascend that altar today to perform the ceremonies of the Continental Ceremony as Emperor of Valdina.

Buried just beneath the altar is a powder charge powerful and concentrated enough to topple the statues and blow away the entire interior of the temple.

Samon looked lovingly at the stone statue behind the altar.

A thrill ran through his body as he imagined the moment the explosion occurred.

The stones will fly out like shrapnel, and the Emperor's body will be thrown into the air by the impact.

And finally, the grand stone statue will slowly tilt down and cover the Emperor's body.

Samon vividly pictured the fragments of the collapsing altar tearing at Peleus's body, and the stone statue symbolizing the goddess's mercy crashing down mercilessly, crushing his bones.

The sound of the Emperor's body crumbling and breaking in a pile of stones.

He couldn't help but laugh as the gruesome sight of flesh and blood bursting out between the stone walls unfolded before his eyes.

However, It was regrettable that he could not see with his own eyes the vivid fear of death engraved on Peleus' face at that long-awaited moment.

When Peleus falls, the throne of Valdina falls into his hands.

The throne that should have originally been his.

'I will take good care of this country that you have worked hard to develop while I was away.'

"Master."

At that moment, a servant came up behind him and reported to Samon.

"Why are you here?"

"The butler sent me. He said that His Majesty must be protected by your side as a top priority."

"Hmm..."

Only then did Samon, who had been frowning, let his guard down. The servant approached and whispered softly.

"I need you to come for a moment. Something has come up with me at work."

"What?"

Samon's calm face immediately cracked at the news his subordinate delivered.

He checked the time.

Today is the only chance to target Peleus. Once he returns to Valdina, the iron-blooded Agemas will be guarding him like an iron wall.

Samon heart became Impatient.

"Let's go."

He hurriedly left the place, following his men.

Without realizing that the back of the water lily was slightly bent than usual.

***

The chapel where the festival is in full swing again.

"..."

Medea stared blankly at the man who had appeared before her again.

Jason, who was looking into those cold eyes, spoke first.

"Do you want to laugh at me? I have come before you again in this pitiful form of the Emperor's dog?"

Jason's face was deeply frowned upon, making his handsome appearance pale.

It's as if the speaker himself has hurt pride.

"..."

Medea still had no answer.

Jason twitched his fingers nervously. His heart felt as if he was standing on the edge of a cliff.

There was no way to tell if this was the fear of someone standing on the edge of a cliff or an impulse to jump to the bottom.

"I, I don't even understand myself, but Medea, I came here to see you."

Jason confessed without realizing it.

"It's because of you that I've become like this, but even so, Medea, I can't forget you."

Damn, the vivid green eyes remained in my mind and could not be erased.

"Medea, you have nothing to say to me?"

The red eyes fixated on Medea.

"..."

"Please, you, just say a word-"

"Should I have it?"

When the thirst had reached a point where it was almost pitiful, a short word finally came flying out.

A voice as cold as ice. An indifferent gaze that didn't even look him in the eye.

Jason let out a sigh of relief at the sight of the woman who looked exactly the same as she did in his memories.

In the repeated memories that he's recalled over the past three years, he wish those eyes could just contain him, and he wish that even a cold voice could reach his ears.

When he faced Medea before his eyes, he realized.

Now, this is not enough.

As Jason stared at her delicate features and the neat white fingers holding onto her dress, a thirst unlike any he had ever felt before welled up in him.

Jason cleared his throat, trying to suppress the urge to grab her delicate shoulders with his hands.

"I went back to Katzen and thought about it for a long time. Where did I start to fall apart?"

"..."

"As I pursued them one by one. I found you, Medea, at the starting point of all the things I had lost."

"..."

Jason was no fool, so by now he could not help but vaguely sense the antipathy that the Princess of Valdina had toward him.

But he still didn't know.

That Medea's feelings for him were not resentment, but a deep abyss close to hatred.

"I..."

Jason paused for a moment as if his throat was choked.

"What did I do to you so wrong?"

No matter how much he thought about it, a question that he couldn't figure out kept popping up.

There was a sense of resentment in his voice that he could not hide. It was almost heartbreaking.

He didn't know that this was the sorrow that only those who had made up their minds could inevitably feel.

"I can't understand for the time being..."

"I see you've forgotten. I'm sure I answered that question before."

Medea responded calmly.

The anxious, anxious look from the handsome man in front of her seemed indifferent as if it didn't even reach the hem of her dress.

"It seems like we had a terrible relationship in our past life that will never happen again."

The soft voice pronounced each syllable with such precision that it seemed as if it was engraving it in his head.

"Bad fate, that can't be. I know. I'm sure of it, because... we're connected."

He paused, then spoke in a hoarse voice that sounded like he was dragging his feet on the floor.

"Every day, I dream of you. Every night for the past three years, without missing a single night."

He saw her every night.

Even when he lost the vassals of the former Emperor, and even when he was on the verge of death while being chased by monsters.

"In my dreams, you are me..."

Jason's expression became ecstatic as if he was experiencing a hazy hallucination.

"Dear..."

Medea in the dream was very kind and sweet.

"Please be careful. You know that I only have you."

"Jason, I love you."

Green eyes filled only with affection for him. Thin arms hugging his neck. White fingertips caressing his hair.

Medea caressed his face and confessed her love.

Could the taste of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that he accidentally tasted be this sweet?

The temperature and the feel were too vivid to be dismissed as just a dream...

Jason can't forget. The moment in his dream when he held this woman in his arms.

So it was even more difficult to accept the cold reality of today.

'You can be so affectionate. You can love me...'

Jason wanted to keep grabbing Medea and screaming.
