TCIWTFY- Part 2 Chapter 19

The dagger kicked by D'Angel's foot bounced off, sending Joaquin sprawling.

He complained of his pain with somewhat exaggerated but slow gestures.

"Very well, Your Majesty. Kill me here and now! If I cannot remain in Valdina, I would rather die. I do not want to live any longer- Ugh!"

D'Angel frowned as Joaquin sat down and burst into tears again.

"This man really..."

Even if Joaquin, who had thrown away his dignity and begged for forgiveness in a cowardly manner had actually cut off his own head, D'Angel would not have batted an eye.

The Valdinians present here were no different.

One problem is that Valdinian isn't the only one here now.

The foreigners who gathered from each continent were surprised by the vivid anger displayed by the Valdinians, but they also felt uncomfortable inside.

"They're not even pretending to listen to him when he begs you so much. It's been three years, but aren't they still family? The Valdina royal family is just too cruel."

"Isn't it a bit sad that he has to leave his hometown where he was born and raised and wander around a foreign country? He can't even visit the graves of his dead parents, let alone anyone else?"

"The regent who was so majestic has become so pathetic... Heh heh..."

Most people naturally tend to identify with the weak rather than the strong.

There was a big difference between actually experiencing the damage caused by the rebellion of the Claudio family and hearing about it in a sentence or two.

Besides, as a result, isn't Valdina actually doing even better after that?

Since they have grown so powerful that they have declared an empire, shouldn't they be lenient about the minor disturbances that occurred during the time of the small kingdom?

The foreign envoys watched Peleus' reaction carefully.

The way the Emperor of Valdina treats his fallen uncle may serve as an indicator of how he will treat the weaker nations of the continent.

Medea noticed the tension flowing through the banquet hall. She swallowed the bitterness silently.

'The Emperor has used his head.'

It was possible to guess that the Emperor Perdiccas II of Katzen was behind the commotion that Claudio the father and son had deliberately caused.

The spark thrown by the Emperor today will remain deep in the hearts of those envoys and hinder their exchange with Valdina.

After Jason, now you're sending Claudio too.

Perdiccas II seemed unable to watch his thorn in his side, his brother nation, complete the proclamation ceremony with peace of mind.

At that moment, someone approached Joaquin, who was curled up in a ball.

"Get up. Take my hand."

Joaquin was momentarily taken aback and stared blankly at the white hand extended in front of him.

'What, what? I still need to get Pe lleus' attention more...'

"Saintess. I will do it."

Before his thoughts could continue, Joaquin was lifted up by the firm force of the escort who grabbed one of his arms and stood awkwardly.

"Wipe away your tears. The Goddess's love is infinite, and if you truly repent, no mistake cannot be forgiven."

A woman with a mysterious and affectionate voice wiped away his tears.

"Who..."

Joaquin raised his head.

And then he found a beautiful woman looking at him with a pitiful expression.

Her white skin and slender body caught Joaquin's eyes.

Her beautiful blond hair, flowing down her cream-colored priestly robes, looked even more pious under the light of the chandelier on the ceiling.

It was Rachel.

"..."

The atmosphere among the Valdinians became even colder with the appearance of the Saintess.

Because it reminded them of what she had done at the Valdina royal court.

'There are times when it's not good that our Valdina has been promoted to an empire. Having to see the faces of those inhuman people all in one place.'

D'Angel gritted his teeth.

Foreigners, unaware of the Valdinians' complaints, were simply excited and chattered about the continued presence of rare sights.

To think that they would be able to see the Saintess whose reputation was known throughout the continent step by step in this place!

"Saintess? Are you saying that a real Saintess has come?!"

"The Knights Templar are here too!"

Behind Rachel were the High Priest Paul and the Knights Templar.

The white robes hanging over the silver armor plates bearing the emblem of the Holy Kingdom gleamed.

A sacred energy that seemed to purify the air filled the banquet hall.

"One Knight Templar can defeat a hundred demons?"

"That's why, no matter how many waves explode in the Holy Land, it's hard to find even the devil's claws."

If Valdina's Agemas were known for their bravery as the continent's best cavalry, the Holy Knights of the Holy Nation were renowned as knights who specialized in suppressing waves and dealing with demons.

"You rarely see them at official functions, but I guess they came to escort the Saintess this time."

"But how can you grab someone with your face? How can they all be so tall?"

"What about the Saintess? If I hadn't heard of her since she was a commoner, I would have thought she was royalty from some remote region."

While attention is focused on the Saintess and the Knights Templar.

"Well, this old man, I congratulate you on your coronation with the divine blessings of the Holy Land. May Valdina be filled with unparalleled abundance and prosperity under the guidance of the Goddess."

High Priest Paul was the first to offer his congratulations to the delegation of the Holy See. His tone was still arrogant and pompous, but he seemed a little impatient.

'That young Emperor hasn't spoken to us since a while ago. Is he trying to ignore us because of that incident? Huh, we can't let that happen.'

The Pope's repeated admonitions and scoldings before coming here had long since been forgotten in the high priest's mind.

When the Pope learned the whole story of how Paul and his companions were driven out of Valdina, he rebuked him harshly.

Although he had been waiting for so long for the appearance of a representative, the Pope did not honor the Saintess.

'His Holiness is already old. His holy power is not what it used to be... So, without realizing it, you are jealous of the Saintess's strong holy power.'

The high priests thought that there was another reason why the Pope, unlike them, was reluctant to trust the Saintess.

'Even His Majesty has ended up being shackled by humans... The country must also come to its senses and regain the initiative of the Holy Nation.'

For Paul, the first step was the proclamation of the empire in Valdina, where people from all over the continent gathered.

The status of the Holy Nation had to be demonstrated, and furthermore, the appearance of the Holy Lady had to be demonstrated in a place where continental people gathered.

He needs to spread the faith in the Deputy widely, but he doesn't think that Ice-block Emperor will give him the opportunity to do so, so he's taking the lead.

"Since the Saintess herself put aside everything and attended, this will be remembered for a long time as a blessing for Valdina."

He heaped praise on the Saintess.

After leaving Valdina, High Priest Paul's blind faith in the Saintess became even stronger.

There was an effort to shed Rachel's blood.

He struggled to regain the trust of the Saintess.

He demonstrated his growing power day by day, solidifying his status as a representative of God.

Paul and his followers came to believe that the unpleasant incident that occurred in Valdina at that time was a task given by the goddess to test their faith.

"The Saintess prays every day for Valdina and this continent. Only for peace and love to be with you. Can you believe that since arriving in the Holy Land, she has been praying without even eating?"

As if making an excuse for the commotion of the day, Paul's voice spoke passionately in the direction of the Valdinians.

However, his efforts were unnecessary.

No matter what he says, the Valdinians will never forget the ugly face the Saintess revealed that day.

"It's probably not your turn yet, but you arrived early."

Peleus quietly pointed out RacheI's sudden intrusion into the conversation with the Katzen delegation.

Paul's face turned red for a moment.

"The Saintess simply could not turn away from the outcast. Moreover, she had a deep connection with Valdina from the beginning.'

If it is a deep connection, it would mean that the Saintess awakened in the land of Valdina.

As people nodded, Peleus replied nonchalantly.

"Then, the person who serves the high priest needs to be more aware of his position. It is not a position where he can hide behind like a child and avoid responsibility."

The eyes of the nobles widened. They too had heard the rumors that had been circulating between the Saintess and the Emperor.

They heard that the Emperor and the Saintess were so close that they shared the moment of awakening together and even the Saintess saved him, but the Emperor didn't seem like that at all right now.

Rachel's face turned red at the cold treatment that showed no consideration for her dignity.

How can there be a man who is as icy as wood and stone?

What made her even more upset was that his coldness only eased in front of his own sister.

"Your Majesty, I know it may be presumptuous of me to ask you something."

Rachel turned to Peleus, suppressing her anger.

"These are also Your Majesty's family. The Goddess said that those who are related by blood are connected by the bond of fate. Isn't it the natural order that the Goddess desires for us to be generous in accepting our faults and growing together?"
